Intimacy is a very difficult thing for MI6 agents to have. You know, to let somebody in is a very difficult thing, and in a world that’s run on secrets you lose touch of your own humanity – that’s something that Lorraine struggles with; she doesn’t want to, but it’s so hard for her to let somebody in. For me, as a woman, to have those scenes be with another woman kind of elevated it to a level that we wouldn’t have gotten if it was with just a man. I thought there was something interesting in her choosing to go through this journey of trying to be intimate with another woman, who, by the way, is so scared, who’s so vulnerable in this world, and she’s new to this game. There was something really beautiful. We wanted to show a real moment of two people knowing that they could never have any of that stuff, but yet finding each other.
