The wall clock’s incessant ticking kept him awake. The faint repetitive noise was present in his mind as well as the fact that he and Nate finally had something in common. They were both in love with Daysia. It’d been about a week since he’d seen the girl, letting things cool down hadn’t excused the girl from his mind especially not today since Nate’s appearance at his apartment. But what if in Malcolm’s absence, she’d been feeling lonely and given in to Nate’s confession had he gone there? What if he was laying in the girl’s bed tonight? Mac couldn’t stomach the thought. In just his boxers, Malcolm shuffled across his apartment floor and across the hall to Daysia’s room where he entered the darkness, seeing her sleeping body illuminated by the moonlight pouring in the window. His tall frame crawled into her bed, curling up behind her gently but waking her in the process. Though he wouldn’t outwardly admit it, that was his intention. “Hey..” The rasp of his voice whispered soft as she rested his chin on her back. “I couldn’t sleep. Um, alright if I stay here?” Malcolm asked sheepishly as he laced his arms around her petite waist. “I don’t like not talking to you..”
@daysiias
chocolate hues fluttered open as another body shifted her awake. even if he hadn't spoken, daysia would've known it was mac. no one else would be crawling into bed with her. she kept her lips shut tight in a thin line as he spoke, trying to form a coherent sentence while still coming out of her sleepy stupor. "then you could just talk to me?" she whispered. it probably wasn't the right response. she shook her head and rolled around to face mac, a sad smile tugging at the corners of her lips. daysia met the male's gaze, before yawning into her pillow. "what time is it? are you okay?" she was finally coming to. for the first time in weeks, her head wasn’t pounding. her injuries had healed up pretty well, but she still didn’t look like herself. honestly, she wasn’t sure who that was anymore. those few seconds of oblivion when your eyes open after waking up had completely disappeared, and daysia was remembering why the two hadn’t talked much, but there wasn’t a lot she could do to avoid this conversation when he was in bed with her -- besides, she wanted nothing more than to curl into him and fall asleep. instead, she just stared. “you can tell me if something’s wrong.”
