I love the color choice in every single drawing of yours. I was wondering how you find/make up such pretty palettes
AWW THANK YOUHonestly I just go by what I think looks nice, no science behind my choices, but I can offer some tipsTIP 1: In case you know completely nothing about color theory, I suggest you to learn at least the basics of it! This will not replace learning how to color good, but you will feel way less lostTIP 2: shift your goddang hue!
same base color, different shadinga common mistake is just making the base color darker or lighter, it’s not a sin of course, but shifting the hue and using colors that aren’t the same as the base one could definitely improve your drawing. you have infinite choices!TIP 3: Play around with settings
worry not! these aren’t a SAI exclusive, any decent art software should have something like this, or even moreTIP 4: Keep your saturation levels consistent enough
Can you spot the “mistake”?having a desaturated color in a bunch of saturated colors, and viceversa, may look a bit off so I’d suggest you to avoid it… it is possible to mix them properly, but unless you know what you’re doing, it could be a bit difficult to get right TIP 5: Overlay layers
(use clipping group if it’s a transparent pic)
(again, not a sai exclusive)after/before this you could also play around with the settings
