This is a jellyfish. It’s called Turritopsis nutricula. It is also the only animal that can live forever, as far as we know. This may be your god. You may as well pray to it. 

After reaching it’s sexual maturity, it can revert back to a polyp stage. First, the umbrella reverts itself and then the tentacles and mesoglea get resorbed. The reverted medusa then attaches itself to the substrate by the end that had been at the opposite end of the umbrella and starts giving rise to new polyps to form the new colony. Theoretically, this process can go on indefinitely, effectively rendering the jellyfish biologically immortal.

 Despertar… atrapada en las ramas de alguien que nunca volveré a ver. Si me quedo recostada aquí perfectamente inmóvil, puedo sentir como me hundo en el colchón y puedo escuchar los sonidos de la habitación de abajo. Una voz desconocida tratando de precisar un momento con preocupación de sueño - destrozando, toques de tambor, voz- existiendo.

El sabor es nuevo en mis labios... es cobrizo, quema mi lengua. El aire es cálido, es de color negro y los olores ácidos como el vinagre.
