The sound of traffic was loud on the avenue right outside your apartment window, a steady, rhythmic thrumming that usually put you straight to sleep. Tonight, though, you were wide awake, sitting cross-legged on your bed with a silk scarf wrapped tight around your edges and your laptop burning a hole through your sweatpants. It was almost two in the morning, and the blue light from the screen was starting to make your eyes blur, but you couldn't stop staring at the shadow shifting under your bedroom door.
A second later, the brass knob turned, slow and deliberate, and Cameron slipped into the room like he belonged there. He always did that—moving with this quiet, careful grace that didn't make sense for a man who spent his Saturdays getting slammed into the turf by three-hundred-pound defensive linemen. He was still wearing his grey team standard hoodie, the one with the faded numbers on the sleeve, and his skin looked warm and golden under the soft glow of your bedside lamp. He closed the door behind him with a soft click, dropping his duffel bag by the wall before his eyes found yours.
"You still up, beautiful? I told you not to wait on me," he murmured, his voice deep and rough from a long flight back from the away game, thick with that slow, Southern drawl that always made your chest feel tight.
"Couldn't sleep if I wanted to, Cam. You know how this storm get," you said, closing your laptop and sliding it onto the nightstand. You stretched your arms over your head, letting out a soft sigh as he walked over to the edge of your mattress. "How your shoulder feeling? I saw that hit in the third quarter. Had me ready to jump through the TV screen, for real."
Cameron let out a low rumble of a laugh, the sound vibrating right through the mattress as he sat down beside your hip. He reached out, his large, calloused hand finding the bare skin of your ankle and giving it a gentle squeeze. His thumb rubbed small circles right against your bone, his skin warm against yours. "Man, they tried it tonight, I ain't even gonna lie. But you know they can't keep a real nigga down. I'm good, baby. Just tired. Missed the hell out of you."
The honesty of it hit you right in the center of your chest, sudden and heavy. It wasn't the first time he'd said something like that, but every single time Cameron looked at you with those dark, heavy-lidded eyes like you were the only thing in the room that mattered, the words got stuck right at the back of your throat. You looked at the sharp line of his jaw, the faint shadow of stubble dark against his skin, and the way his broad shoulders relaxed the minute he was near you. You wanted to say it so bad. The three words were right there, sitting on the tip of your tongue, heavy and sweet like honey. I love you, Cam. You almost let it slip, almost let the words tumble out into the quiet space between you two. But instead, you just reached out, your fingers wrapping around his wrist, pulling him closer. "Get out them dirty clothes and get under these covers then, quarterback. I know you freezing."
He just smiled, that slow, private smile he only ever saved for you, and leaned down to press a soft, lingering kiss to the center of your forehead. "Yeah, yeah. Hold on."
It was funny how easy it was to fall into him, how natural everything felt even when you were terrified of the weight of what you were keeping inside. It took you back to the very beginning, back to sophomore year when he wasn't even the starting quarterback yet, just a boy with too much pressure on his shoulders and eyes that followed you across the yard every single Tuesday after your afternoon lecture.
That first time you almost said it, the words had nearly choked you in the middle of the campus library during finals week. The air conditioning in that old brick building was broken, making the air thick and stifling, and you had been staring at the same page of your study guide for forty-five minutes until your head throbbed. Cameron had showed up unannounced, sliding into the wooden chair across from you with a plastic bag from the corner store. He didn't say a word at first, just reached across the table and slid a cold bottle of blue Gatorade and a package of those sweet cream honey buns right over your notes.
"You looking crazy right now, heavy eyes," he had whispered, his voice low so the librarian wouldn't look over. He had his hood pulled up, his dark eyes fixed on your tired face with so much quiet concern it made your stomach do a whole backflip. "When was the last time you ate something that didn't come out a vending machine?"
"Shut up, Cameron. I'm stressed," you had pouted, but your hands were already twisting the cap off the drink. "This professor think we got nothing else to do but memorize a whole textbook in three days. I'm literally about to lose my mind."
He had reached across the table then, his big hand covering both of yours where they rested on the notebook. His fingers were warm, his skin slightly rough against yours, and he just held your hands flat against the paper until your breathing finally slowed down. "Look at me," he had whispered, and when you raised your eyes to his, his expression was so soft it hurt. "You smart as hell. You know this stuff front to back, baby. Stop letting them head games get to you. I ain't letting you fail, you hear me? If we gotta stay up all night, we stay up. I'll read the flashcards to you until your eyes pop out."
You had stared at him, at the genuine, unbothered devotion in his face, and the realization had hit you like a physical blow to the sternum. He had his own playbook to study, his own film to watch before the big scrimmage on Friday, but he was sitting in a stuffy library at midnight just to make sure you didn't cry over an exam. The words had rushed up your throat so fast you had to physically bite the inside of your cheek to keep them back. You had wanted to yell it right there under the fluorescent lights, wanted to tell him that he was the best thing that had ever happened to you, that you loved him so much it made your ribs ache. But you had just swallowed hard, your fingers tightening around his big thumb. "You a fool, Cam," you had murmured instead, your voice cracking just a little bit. "But thank you. For real."
He had just grinned, shaking his head. "I got you. Always."
Back in the present, the sound of the shower running in the bathroom brought you out of the memory. You shifted under the heavy duvet, pulling it up to your chin as you watched the line of yellow light under the bathroom door. A few minutes later, the door swung open, a cloud of warm, steam-scented air billowing out into the cool bedroom. Cameron walked out wearing nothing but a pair of black sweatpants, his skin gleaming from the water, his short hair damp and dark. He looked massive in the small room, his chest broad and marked with the faint bruises of a rough game, but the way he walked toward the bed was entirely gentle.
He crawled in beside you, the mattress dipping low under his weight, and immediately reached out for you. His long arms wrapped around your waist, pulling your back flush against his chest until there wasn't a single inch of space left between you. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling deeply, his warm breath fanning across your skin and giving you goosebumps.
"You smell like that cocoa butter stuff," he murmured, his voice muffled against your skin. "Missed this. Out there in them hotels, everything smell like bleach and old carpet. Drove me crazy."
"You could've stayed at your apartment, you know. Your roommates probably wanted to celebrate the win," you said softly, though your hands were already coming up to rest over his forearms, locking him in place against you.
"Man, fuck them boys," Cameron muttered with a soft grunt, his grip tightening around your waist. "They can celebrate without me. I wanted to be where my peace is at. That's you. Always been you."
Your heart did that dangerous, familiar stutter again. He said things like that so easily, without a single drop of hesitation, while you kept your own heart locked behind a brick wall, terrified of what would happen if you let the truth drop.
The second time you almost broke down and said it was during the middle of the summer, right before junior year started. It had been one of those suffocating Alabama afternoons where the humidity made the air feel like wet velvet, and you had been trying to move a heavy, old-school wooden dresser up the narrow stairs of your new place. Your friends had backed out at the last minute, and you were at the bottom of the steps, sweaty, frustrated, and on the verge of tears because the corner of the wood had chipped your fresh manicure.
Cameron had pulled up in his beat-up truck, the engine rattling, and he hadn't even parked right before he was jumping out the driver's side. He was wearing an old sleeveless tank top, his shoulders glistening with sweat under the burning sun. He took one look at your frustrated face, walked right past you without a word, and lifted the entire dresser by himself, his biceps straining and the veins in his forearms popping as he carried it up the flights of stairs like it was nothing but a cardboard box.
When he came back down, wiping his brow with the back of his hand, you were standing there with a bottle of cold water, looking down at your broken nail. "I could've helped," you had mumbled, feeling small and irritated. "You didn't have to do all that by yourself. You gonna mess your back up before the season even start."
Cameron had taken the water, took a long, deep swig, and then stepped right into your space. He reached out, his thumb catching a stray tear that had slipped down your cheek from pure frustration, wiping it away with a tenderness that didn't match his size. "Hey. Look at me," he had said, his voice dropping low, serious. "What I tell you about trying to do everything by your damn self? You got me. I'm your muscle, baby. Anything you need moved, anything you need fixed, you call me. I don't care if I'm in the middle of practice, I'm coming. Stop stressing."
You had looked up at him, your chest heaving, the heat of the sun nothing compared to the sudden, burning warmth that filled your entire body. He was standing there, sweaty and dirty, looking at you like you were a piece of fine china he was responsible for keeping safe. The words had been right there, pounding against your teeth, forcing their way up. I love you, I love you so much it scares me. The urge to say it had been so loud it felt like a physical weight in the air. But you had just cleared your throat, looking away from his intense gaze, and handed him a clean towel. "You extra as hell, Cameron Cade. For real. But thank you."
He had just chuckled, hooking his arm around your neck and pulling you into his chest, unbothered by the sweat. "Yeah, yeah. Come on, let's get the rest of these boxes before I lose my mind in this heat."
Thinking about it now, with his chest moving slow and steady against your back, you felt a wave of fondness so strong it made your eyes sting. You turned around in his arms, shifting until you were facing him in the dark. The shadows highlighted the strong bridge of his nose, the soft curve of his lips, and the way his long eyelashes fluttered as he started to drift off to sleep.
"Cam?" you whispered, your voice barely louder than the rain outside.
"Hmm?" he grunted, his eyes cracking open just a fraction, dark and full of sleep. He reached up, his large hand cupping the side of your face, his thumb smoothing over your cheekbone with a slow, heavy rhythm. "What's wrong, baby? You hurt?"
"No," you breathed, leaning into his touch, your heart hammering against your ribs. This was the third time. The words were lined up, perfect and true, ready to break through the silence of the room. You looked at him, at the way he immediately woke up the second he thought something might be wrong with you, and you wanted to say it so badly. You wanted to give him that piece of yourself. But the old fear, that silly, stubborn pride, gripped your throat at the last second. You swallowed the words again, burying them deep down. "Just wanted to say I'm glad you home safe. Good game tonight."
Cameron let out a soft, satisfied sigh, his eyes closing completely as he pulled you even closer, his face burying itself into your hair. "Me too, baby. Me too. Go to sleep now. I got you."
The fourth time it happened, it wasn't quiet at all. It was the night after they won the rivalry game, and the whole campus was on fire. The house party his teammates were throwing was packed to the ceiling, the bass from the speakers shaking the floorboards so hard you could feel it in your teeth. Everyone wanted a piece of him that night; every guy wanted to dap him up, and every girl was looking at him from across the room. He was the man on campus, the star quarterback who had just secured their spot in the playoffs.
But Cameron hadn't spent the night networking or letting the attention get to his head. The second he saw you standing near the kitchen, looking a little overwhelmed by the crowd in your pretty black dress, he had pushed right through the sea of people, ignoring the folks calling his name. He had walked straight to you, wrapped his arms around your waist from behind, and rested his chin on your shoulder, effectively shutting out the rest of the world.
Later that night, when you finally got away from the noise and were sitting in the front seat of his truck, the windows fogged up from the cool night air, he had turned off the ignition and just looked at you. The dashboard lights cast a soft amber glow over his face, making him look younger, vulnerable.
"Man, I don't care about none of that extra stuff out there," he had said suddenly, his voice thick with emotion as he reached over the center console to take your hand. He brought your knuckles to his lips, pressing a hard, desperate kiss against your skin. "All them people screaming my name, it don't mean nothing if I can't look over and see you in the stands. You the only one who knew me when I was sitting on the bench, wiping sweat off the turf. Don't ever think this football stuff come before you. None of it matters without you."
The sheer weight of his devotion had made your breath hitch. Your heart had felt like it was going to burst right out of your chest, the love you had for him rising up like a tidal wave, threatening to break through every barrier you had ever built. The words had been right there, screaming to be let out. I love you, Cameron. I've been loving you for so long. You had opened your mouth, the first syllable forming on your lips, but the sudden shine of high beams from another car leaving the lot had broken the spell. You had blinked, pulling your hand back just an inch, the moment slipping through your fingers like sand. "You a good man, Cameron," you had whispered, your voice shaking. "Don't ever forget who you are."
He had just looked at you, a faint, knowing look in his eyes that made you think he knew exactly what you had swallowed down, before he started the truck again. "I won't. Not as long as you here."
Now, hours later in the deep quiet of the early morning, the storm outside had finally passed, leaving nothing but the sound of water dripping from the roof. The room was cool, but the heat radiating from Cameron's body kept you completely warm. You shifted slightly, trying to get a better look at his face, thinking he was fast asleep.
But his eyes were open. He was looking at you in the dim light, his gaze steady, clear, and incredibly heavy with something he wasn't trying to hide anymore. His hand shifted from your waist, his long fingers trailing up your spine until they reached the back of your neck, his touch so gentle it made you shiver.
"You been doing that a lot lately," Cameron said softly, his voice a low, gravelly vibration in the quiet room.
"Doing what?" you whispered back, your heart skipping a beat.
"Looking at me like you got something heavy on your mind," he murmured, his thumb rubbing the soft skin just behind your ear. He leaned in closer, his forehead resting against yours, his dark eyes locked onto yours with an intensity that made the rest of the world completely fade away. "Like you wanna say something but you keep pulling it back. You think I don't see you?"
You caught your breath, your fingers tightening in the fabric of his sweatpants. "Cam..."
"Nah, let me speak for a minute," he interrupted gently, his voice dropping even lower, thick with a raw, unshielded honesty that made your eyes fill with sudden tears. He looked at you like you were his entire world, his chest rising and falling against yours. "I know you scared. I know you like to keep your heart safe, and I ain't ever wanted to push you into nothing you wasn't ready for. But I can't keep sitting here acting like I ain't completely gone over you. I don't care about the timing, and I don't care about nothing else."
He took a deep breath, his hand moving to cup your jaw, his fingers sliding into your hair as he tilted your face up just a little bit more.
"I love you," Cameron said, the words falling from his lips clear, steady, and full of a quiet certainty that shook you to your very core. He didn't blink, didn't hesitate. "I love you so much it don't even make sense, baby. I loved you when we was sitting in that library, I loved you when I was carrying that ugly dresser up them stairs, and I love you more right now. You ain't gotta say it back if you ain't ready, but I needed you to know where my heart is at. It's yours. It's been yours."
The wall you had spent months building up didn't just crack; it completely shattered, crumbling into nothing at the sound of his voice. The tears you had been holding back finally slipped down your cheeks, warm and fast, but you were smiling so wide your face hurt.
"You’re such an idiot, Cameron Cade," you choked out, a low, wet laugh breaking from your chest as you reached up, both of your hands coming to frame his face, your fingers memorizing the warmth of his skin. You pulled him down to you, your lips meeting his in a kiss that was soft, deep, and filled with everything you had been keeping inside for so long. When you finally pulled back just an inch, your foreheads still touching, you let out the breath you felt like you'd been holding for a year. "I love you too. I been wanting to say it so many times. I love you so much, Cam."
Cameron let out a low, shaky breath of his own, his whole body relaxing against yours as a huge, beautiful smile broke across his face. He kissed you again, hard and sweet, before burying his face back into your neck, his arms wrapping around you so tight you could barely breathe. "Man... you don't even know how long I been waiting to hear you say that," he muttered, his voice thick with relief. "You got me for life now, girl. You know that, right?"
"I know," you whispered, running your fingers through his hair, finally at peace. "I know."
The bedroom was dead quiet except for the sound of your combined breathing. Cameron didn't move an inch, his heavy frame anchored right beside you, one of his long thighs hooked over yours to keep you locked against him. The relief radiating off him was tangible; the tight, guarded edge he usually carried around his shoulders had completely melted away.
"Look at you, crying and shit," he teased softly against your skin, his voice dropped to that low, bedroom register that always made your stomach flutter. He nudged his nose against your jawline, his lips brushing the sensitive spot right under your ear. "Thought you was tough."
"Shut up, Cam," you laughed, the sound muffled by his shoulder as you swatted at his bare back. "You the one who came in here pouring your heart out. Had me caught off guard."
"Had to," he murmured, shifting his head up so he could look down at you. His eyes were completely soft, devoid of the intense, focused stare he used on the field. He reached out, his thumb gently catching the last damp track of a tear on your cheek, wiping it away with a slow, deliberate stroke. "Couldn't keep letting you look at me with them big eyes like you wanted to say something but didn't think I was safe enough to hold it. I told you from day one, whatever you got, you can give it to me. I'm handling it."
"It wasn't that I didn't think you were safe," you whispered, your fingers tracing the sharp curve of his collarbone, feeling the steady, rhythmic beat of his pulse beneath his skin. "It's just... everything move so fast with you. The football stuff, the media, everybody always wanting a piece of Cameron Cade. I just wanted to make sure what we had was real before I went and threw my whole heart at you."
Cameron let out a low grunt, his hand moving down to cover yours, his large fingers slotting perfectly into the spaces between yours. He squeezed tight, lifting your joined hands up to press a warm kiss against your knuckles. "It's been real since sophomore year, baby. All that other stuff? The crowds, the scouts? That's just a job. This right here is my life. I don't mix the two up, and I sure as hell don't let nobody else into this space."
You looked up at him, the dim yellow light from the hallway catching the smooth texture of his skin, the neat fade of his hair, and the utter sincerity in his face. It was still wild to think that this man—the one the whole campus spoke about in hushed, reverent tones, the one whose jersey you saw everywhere on game days—was currently tangled up in your cotton sheets, looking at you like you were the only person left on earth.
"You really loved me back in the library?" you asked softly, a small, playful smile tugging at the corner of your lips as you brought up the old memory. "Even when I was looking crazy and yelling at my notebook?"
Cameron let out a deep, rumbling chuckle that vibrated right through your chest. He leaned down, pressing his forehead against yours so close you could smell the clean, faint scent of his soap. "Man, you looked stressed out of your mind, edges twisted up, ready to fight the world. And all I could think was how bad I wanted to just pick you up and take you away from them books so you could breathe. That's when I knew I was done for. I went back to the dorms that night and told my roommate I found my wife, for real."
"You did not tell him that," you gasped, your face flushing hot as you hid your smile against his chest.
"Ask him then," Cam said, his voice full of easy confidence. "I don't play about what's mine. And you been mine. Took your stubborn ass a little longer to catch up, but we here now."
"I was just being careful," you mumbled, your hands sliding up his broad chest to wrap around the back of his neck, pulling him down for another slow, lingering kiss. It was different this time—there was no hesitation, no holding back, no lingering doubt about whether you were allowed to feel this much. The love was out in the open now, heavy and sweet, filling up every corner of the room.
When he finally pulled back, he had that lazy, satisfied smirk on his face, his thumb running slow circles against your hip. "Yeah, yeah. Careful. Whatever you say, beautiful. Long as you know you stuck with me now."
"I think I can handle that," you whispered, pulling the heavy duvet up over both of your shoulders as you snuggled deeper into his side, finally letting your eyes close. "Goodnight, quarterback."
"Night, baby," he murmured, his grip tightening around your waist as he pulled you close, his chin resting right on top of your head. "I love you."
Hearing it a second time didn't make your heart race with anxiety; it just made you feel completely warm, from your toes all the way to your chest. "I love you too, Cam."

“Ouuu! This shit gonna be phat,” you say with excitement as you excitedly use your grinder.
Today was an exceptionally special day; you would even call it a holiday.
Your boyfriend of three months, Aaron, was finally gonna properly teach you how to roll a blunt!
When you first proposed this idea to Aaron, he was actually offended. You haven’t had to roll your own blunt since meeting him at a party, and he promised that you’d never have to as long as you were with him.
So obviously, this raised some questions in his mind.
Why would she need to roll her own when her prince is right here?
Why did she want to learn now when she’s never needed to before?
Who is she smoking with other than him?
And who the HELL is she rolling for other than her damn self?
You were quick to reassure him. You told him you just wanted to learn something new. Besides, you wanted to roll one for him now and then instead of always letting him do it.
Now here you are, sitting in Aaron’s rundown car, waiting for Aaron to proceed with directions.
“You’re way too excited for this, baby”
"Of course I am! This is my first time rolling, and I want to appreciate my work,” you said, shrugging your shoulders.
Aaron rolls his eyes before giving you a chaste kiss on your lips. He grabs the paper from his pocket and proceeds to take the grinder from you.
After opening it, he grabs your hand in his so you can lean over to see what he’s doing.
“Alright. Now you gotta…sprinkle a good amount…take it from me, baby. You got it.” he passes all the equipment to you, his eyes softening as he looks up into yours. He held your gaze for a moment, his brown eyes so warm that you almost forgot what the two of you were doing.
Aaron has always made you nervous. From the day you met him, to your first and second date, and to the night he officially made you his girlfriend.
Finally, looking away and tucking a small braid behind your ear, you grab the equipment and start sprinkling more of the substance onto the paper. Uncomfortable with the position of staring at your back looking into your lap, you lean to the left to use the center console.
Aaron, wanting to see exactly what you're doing, leans to the right on the console to get a better look. This results in you both leaning your heads against each other while you work.
You both stay like that for a while, listening to whatever forgotten song was playing on his radio.
“You’re doing so good, babydoll”
“Thank you, handsome,” you say with a slight squeal.
“Yeah. You’re almost too good…who taught you how to do this already?” Aaron lifts his head from your lap to look directly in your eyes with furrowed brows.
“Omggg baby! Literally no one! Who else could teach me how to do this”
“I don’t fucking know! Those other niggas who are always your ass,” Aaron jokingly exclaims, folding his arms with a pout.
You let out a loud laugh before turning your body towards him.
“There is no other man in my life besides you, my love,” you say as you lean in to kiss his cheek.
Along with Aaron being a secret softie, he was incredibly funny for no reason. He could literally breathe a certain way, and he’d have you howling with laughter. You will truly be forever grateful that you got to see this side of him.
One thing that no one knows about you and Aaron and that you’ve met before…in high school. In high school, Aaron was a completely different person from the Aaron you know and love today.
You knew from the jump that he had a terrible relationship with his identity. You felt bad for him and just hoped that he’d either snap out of it or have a cultural awakening.
Besides your own thoughts about Aaron, you barely talked. You barely gave each other any attention. You were in completely different worlds.
You were a girl who loved herself, her heritage, and her community.
Aaron just seemed…lost.
So when you found out that he was arrested for trying to burn down the school, you weren’t completely shocked.
After not seeing him for some odd years, you finally saw him at the local tech shop.
You were looking for a new charger when he came up to help you. You somehow recognized him immediately, but he was completely different. His demeanor, the way he talked, and his long sandy hair. You both started talking until you both agreed to hang out.
One thing led to another; you both fell head over heels for each other.
“I’m just making sure,” as Aaron takes the paper filled to its extent with weed.
“Damn, babe! This is more flower than paper,” he says as he observes your work. All you did was shrug and wait for your next set of instructions.
“Alright, this is the final step. All you gotta do is lick and roll, baby. I know that you know how to do that”
“What the hell! What does that mean?” you exclaim with shock. “You callin’ me a hoe?”
“No, mama,” he mutters as he concentrates on getting the blunt ready for you to lick.
You take the blunt from him and do kitten licks along the lining to tighten it. After sealing it with grace, you take your diy bedazzled lighter and run it over the rest of the blunt.
After taking your moment to do that, you sit back in your seat and observe your work.
Fake sniffles can be heard as you wipe away imaginary tears. “It’s beautiful.”
Arron lets out a loud laugh as you then spark the blunt. You don’t hesitate to take a good pull before blowing out the light yellow smoke.
“Oh my gosh,” you say with a smile as you take another pull. Your boyfriend looks at you with content mixed with eagerness.
“How is it?” he asks with a smile, holding up two fingers, signaling you to pass it.
“It’s literally perfect! Thank you so much for teaching me, honey,” you replied as you watched him pull and let out the smoke.
“Of course, mama.” Aaron took your chin between his thumb and pointer finger. “You know I love you, right?”
Hearing those words leave his mouth made your heart kick flips in your chest. This is the first time either of you has ever said "I love you" to each other, and it feels like a ray of sunshine has hit you.
The moment he said those words, your smile became impossible to hide. “No, I didn’t know that…”
You climbed out of your seat and made your way onto Aaron’s lap.“…because you haven’t told me before”
Heat rises to Aaron’s face as he shyly turns to look out the window. After a couple of seconds, he turns to look you directly in the eye. “I love you, y/n. I truly believe that you’ve made me a better man. You made me see the world in a way I didn’t know was possible. You made me realize that being myself and embracing who I am is nothing to be embarrassed about. Yo- why are you tearing up ma”
You didn’t even notice that a tiny tear had fallen from the corner of your eye. “nigga what? It’s um…Smokey in here! Just straight gas, so it’s uh- burning my eyes,” you acted, quickly wiping the tear away.
Aaron lets out a slight chuckle before kissing another tear that had dropped from your face.
As he pulled away and his eyes met yours, you swear you could see the stars in his green and blue eyes. Getting a bit overwhelmed, you bend your head to look at your lap on top of his.
“I love you too, Aaron.”
The sandy-haired boy let out a brief sigh of relief as he brought your face into his hands. He leaves a yearning yet soft kiss on your plush lips as smoke passionately dances around you both.
At this moment, you knew this boy had you hooked.

𖤓 bombshell!cameron cade. makes mini dates for the girls he’s interested in. he wants to show the girl(s) that he wants to take their connection seriously, and show her that she deserves to be considered and seen. during that date, he is listening attentively and getting a feeling of how the girl feels, not just about him but also about romance, love, her views on things that shape her
𖤓 bombshell!cameron cade. respectful, but a bit physical. he ups the levels of physical touch, following after your comfort level; caresses your leg as you chat with him, brings himself closer by holding onto your finger, at times tempted to lay his head on your lap and listen to you talk, but as for now, distance and respect for your couple !!
𖤓 bombshell!cameron cade. extremely transparent on who he wants and has no issue going after her. whether it be bringing her breakfast before her couple does, heightening his charm to woo her, or even taking her up to a more secluded location, just have her couple be a bit antsy. he’s already a competitive man as it is due to his job, fighting for the girl he desires and wants is nothing to him
𖤓 bombshell!cameron cade. recoupling night feels like a night of reassurance and poetry spoken to you under the moonlight. the way he describes you makes you feel like the only girl in the world and always winks at you before he starts his speech. dare i say after casa, he started adding, “lady in my life” before announcing your name

Just One More
The house smelled like garlic, butter, and whatever seasoning you'd convinced yourself that made everything taste better.
Music hummed softly from the speaker on the kitchen counter as you moved around the stove, stirring the pasta before reaching for another pinch of seasoning. The food was nearly finished, leaving you with just enough time to set the table before Cameron got home from practice.
Almost on cue, you heard the front door unlock.
You grinned. "Hey, baby."
You then hear the front door shut and his duffel bag hit the floor with a heavy thud. As you sit the wooden spoon down, two strong arms wrapped around your waist from behind, pulling you against his board chest.
You let out a quiet laugh. "Cameron."
He only hummed against your neck.
His practice shirt clung to him, still damp with sweat, and you could feel the heat radiating off his body as he buried his face further into the crook of your neck.
“I missed you,” he mumbled.
“You’ve been gone for, like… three hours.”
“You know how hard it is concentrating at practice when all I wanna do is come home to you?”
“I find that hard to believe.”
He waved you off before turning his head, his lips brushing the side of your jaw. He leaned in and you twisted away just enough for his kiss to land somewhere near your cheek instead.
He frowned. “…Really?”
You pointed toward the hallway without even looking at him. “Go shower.”
“I just got home.”
“And you stink.” you snickered.
He tried again, chasing your face with an exaggerated pout. You laughed harder, ducking away before he could steal another kiss.
Cameron sucked his teeth. “You really gonna do me like that?”
You turned in his arms just enough to squeeze his face with one hand. “I love you.”
The hopeful smile on his face grew.
Then you gently pushed him backward. “…But go shower.”
He made a face. “You got a problem with me loving on you?”
“I got a problem with whatever’s growing on that shirt.”
He looked down at himself, sniffed his shirt once, then looked back at you. “…I don’t think it’s that bad.”
You raised an eyebrow.
He clicked his tongue. “You couldn’t fake it ’til after I kissed you?”
“No.”
He nodded with a smirk backing away, and never taking his eyes off you. “Soon as I get out that shower…” He pointed between the two of you. “I’m coming to collect every kiss you just denied me.”
You rolled your eyes, doing your best to hide the smile threatening to take over your face. “We’ll see.”
Cameron snorted. “Yeah…we will.”
He disappeared down the hallway, leaving you standing in the kitchen, you shook your head to yourself before turning back to the stove.
“Lord…”
-
You finished adjusting the candle on the table before a familiar feeling settled over you. The kind that always came whenever Cameron was looking at you.
Sure enough…
You glanced toward the hallway.
He was standing there with one shoulder propped against the wall, arms folded loosely across his chest. Grey sweatpants hung low on his hips, droplets of water disappeared beneath the waistband as he watched you with that knowing look on his face.
You didn’t even realize you’d stopped moving.
“…You gonna keep staring,” he asked, amusement dancing in his eyes, “or you gonna come pay your debt?”
You smirked. “How bad is my debt?”
He pushed himself off the wall and started toward you. “I’d say…” His gaze drifted over your face before meeting your eyes again. “…pretty bad.”
You hummed. “I don’t remember agreeing to any of th—”
“Girl…”, Cameron reached for your wrist before you could finish, gently pulling you into him. “…Come here.”
His lips found yours and you completely melted into him.
Your hands wandered over the warmth of his chest before sliding higher, feeling the firmness of his shoulders beneath your fingertips. They drifted along the back of his neck, nails scraping lightly at the nape as you drew closer to him.
Cameron answered by pulling you in until there wasn't an inch of space left between you. One hand settled against the small of your back while the other roamed on your body, rubbing and squeezing at whatever he can reach.
Every time it seemed like one of you was about to pull away, the other leaned in again, smiling softly against the other's lips as if neither of you was ready for it to end.
When you finally pulled away, Cameron looked at you before shaking his head with a smirk. “All that talk earlier…” His hand squeezed your ass. ”…just for you to fold the second I kissed you.”
You rolled your eyes, leaning in just enough to nip at his bottom lip. “Shut up, no I didn’t.”
He laughed. “…Could’ve fooled me.”
You shot him a look, though it lacked any real conviction. He saw right through it. His lips were on yours again before you could say another word, stealing a quick kiss that only made you chase him for another when he pulled away.
“You see what happens when you follow directions?” you asked poking at him.
A chuckle rumbled from Cameron chest. “I just wanted to see how long it’d take before you gave in.”
“It didn’t take long.” you easily admitted.
“I know.” He studied your face.“That’s ’cause you like kissing me.”
Your smile softened. “I love kissing you.” You brushed your lips against his one more time.
Cameron licked his lips, tilting his head. “..Yeah?”
You nodded. “Mhm.”
Without a word, he leaned down and kissed your forehead… then the tip of your nose… before taking another kiss from your lips.
Giggles bubbled out of you. “We should probably eat before everything gets cold.”
His arms tightened around your waist. “One more kiss.”
You laughed, pressing both hands against his chest. “Boy moveee..”
He forced one last kiss out of you anyways before letting you go.
Then he watched you make your way toward the table before pointing his fork at you when he sat down. “I’m not done with you yet.”
You weren’t done with him either.
-
He hardly touched his food.
While you ate yours, he sat back in his chair, content watching you instead. Every now and then your eyes would flick up from your plate only to find him looking at you, his attention never straying for long.
You narrowed your eyes. “Eat your food.”
“I’m busy.”
“Doing what?”
“Waiting.”
You laughed under your breath, shaking your head before taking the last bite of your food. The moment your fork clinked against the plate, his chair scraped against the floor.
“Cameron—”
“You done?”
“…Yes?”
Cameron was lifting you out of the chair like you weighed nothing. One arm slipped behind your back while the other hooked beneath your legs.
A surprised laughed slipped passed your lips as your arms circle around his neck. “Boy—”
“I been patient.”
He carried you into the living room, lowering himself onto the couch, maneuvering you to straddle his lap.
Your hands rest on his shoulders as he reaches for the remote. Turning your head to see what he was about to put on, only to scrunch your face at the selection.
“I don’t want to watch that.”
Cameron grabs your chin turning you to face him. “Fuck that movie.” His voice was low and husky before he smashed his lips on yours.
Your breath hitch at the sudden force, every ounce of patience he’d shown earlier disappeared. Cameron’s hand slid firmly along your back, pulling you flush against him as though the few inches between you had been bothering him all afternoon.
His lips moved against yours with an eagerness that made you smile, and when he felt it, he eased up just enough for another kiss… then another.
“There she go,” he murmured against your lips, his voice low with satisfaction.
“You are so-“ he cut you off, darting his tongue out against your bottom lip before kissing you again.
“Rude?” he guessed once you finally came up for air.
You shook your head, laughing as your hands wandered on his shoulders. “Annoying.”
Your hands slipped from his shoulders, slowly rubbing his chest before gliding over the definition of his arms. You’d spent the better part of the afternoon pretending to resist him, but now that he finally had you where he wanted you…
…you weren’t putting up much of a fight.
A groan rumbled low in his throat as your fingers slid over the back of his neck, your nails lightly grazing the freshly buzzed hair there. The subtle scratch of your fingertips was enough to make his grip tighten around you.
You smiled. “I missed you too.”
“Mmm…” His nose brushed yours before he leaned in for another kiss. “I don’t think you did.”
“Oh?”
“You made me shower.”
“I was protecting both of us.”
“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.” Cameron shook his head. “Sounds like an excuse to me.”
“Call it whatever you want,” you shrugged. “You still showered.”
“You lucky I like you.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Love me.”
He leaned in. ”…That too.” the words brushed your lips and he closed the gap.
Your hands cupped either side of his face, holding him there as if you were afraid he’d pull away too soon. He leaned into you instead, his hands wandering all over your body. Lightly scratching your back, rubbing your thighs and squeezing your hips.
He started pressing kisses on your neck, you tilt your head exposing more skin for him. “Cam, we’re suppose to be watching the movie.” it came out breathy.
His eyes flickered toward the television before settling right back on you. “Yeah… but you’re more interesting.” He grabbed your neck pulling you down to his lips.
The television never stood a chance.
It continued playing in the background, scene after scene slipping by unnoticed while the two of you stayed wrapped up in each other. Every time you pulled apart, one look was all it took before one of you closed the distance all over again.
Kissing Cameron felt like losing track of everything else. Every thought went away every time his lips found yours, replaced by quiet laughs, lingering glances, and the way he always managed to pull you impossibly closer even when there was no space left between the both of you.
It was addictive, and judging by the way Cameron kept finding his way back to your lips… he felt exactly the same.
-
The last kiss ended the same way the others had.
Reluctantly.
Your forehead rested against his before you leaned back with a quiet sigh, your eyes wandering aimlessly around the room.
You looked towards the window suddenly laughing at the view.
“What?” Cameron asked, still looking at you.
You pointed toward the now-dark window. “The sun was out when we sat on this couch.”
He turned his head to look.
You pulled out your phone and your eyebrows shot up. “It’s almost nine.”
Cameron looked at you, balling his lips to stop himself from laughing, “I think we’ve got a problem.”
Background- in which Sierra is stubborn because she can be
Cameron Cade x Sierra Naízen (oc)
Warnings: no smut(just can’t do it chat), some kisses, Cameron is so dense, Sierra is just a girl
𝑪𝑨𝑴𝑬𝑹𝑶𝑵 𝑲𝑵𝑬𝑾 𝑯𝑰𝑺 𝑮𝑰𝑹𝑳 𝑾𝑨𝑺 𝑨𝑽𝑶𝑰𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑯𝑰𝑴, he could tell by the way she would brush him off when he’d plan something or the way she’d avoid his calls when he needed to reach her. It was honestly really starting to piss him off. Yesterday he had an entire day planned for them, he knew she needed a day to rest and he also knew he was her favorite person to do that with, or at least he was until she decided he wasn’t.
Sierra wasn’t one to be condescending or avoidant in her relationships but she never knew how to feel with Cameron. She was a complex ball of irritation and sarcasm wrapped in sex appeal and curves for days. Casey, Cameron’s sister and Sierra’s best friend knew what to make of their relationship way before they knew, she wasn’t exactly a big fan of them fraternizing around, but she wasn’t exactly one to stand in the way. Sierra and Cameron weren’t together but they weren’t not together, it was complicated.
Cameron was starting to get overly irritated. Which was very much like him, he was a man who ran on vexation and irritation, he couldn’t help it. Especially when it came to his girl. So here he was, on a Friday night, which he knew was her designated self care night, at her apartment. He didn’t knock because he had a key and quite frankly he wasn’t in the mood. He had just drove 45 minutes to her favorite flower shop and he wasn’t exactly sure what it was that he did in the first place but he knew he wasn’t leaving until it was safe between them.
Walking into her loft, the first thing he did was remove his shoes because she would kill him if not. Cameron could smell the strawberry and vanilla scented candle along with the strawberry body wash she used that drove him crazy. He made his way up the stairs to her very open room, all pink and cozy, and there she was in all her glory. Sierra Drew Naízen sat on her suede, black couch, long legs stretched and severely relaxed. She had her one piece set on (one of his personal favorites because of how she filled it out and all the right places) and her smooth silk pressed sew in laid flat on her shoulders, long and brown. Sierra stared deeply at her computer screen as Brent faiyaz played from her speakers and she had never looked more content.
God, he missed her. Cameron cleared his throat, just barely getting her attention as she glanced over her shoulder. “What the hell is up wit’ you Sierra?” He mugged walking towards her and placing the hibiscus flowers on her table (she gave them a longing glance that she hoped he missed) he grabbed her legs and placed them on his lap as he sat down.
She sighed, burrowing herself further back into the couch and getting herself comfy in his lap. “Are we ignoring each other now?” He closed her laptop and placed it on the table next to the flowers.
“Why are you here? Did we have plans?” Her voice was filled with irritation but he knew it was all deflection.
Cameron stared at her as if she had two heads, rolling his eyes, his hand squeezing and massaging her legs even though he felt as though she didn’t deserve it. “I ain’t know I needed plans to hang out with my girl.”
“Wasn’t aware i was your girl.”
“You give anybody else a hard time like this? Or is it just me, Sierra.”
Sierra’s face crinkled, reaching over to grab the flowers off the table, “what are these for?”
“For whatever I did wrong apparently.” Cameron scooted down into the cushions, her legs inching higher up on his lap. He laid a hand over his eyes because the day had been long and the person he called his peace was being everything but that.
Sierra rolled her eyes, staring at his tired face and then back at the flowers that laid in her lap. She wasn’t trying to be an asshole but he was so infuriating. Cameron Cade only wanted her on his time, he wanted to be a couple without being a couple, he wanted everything that came with a relationship without having to commit. Sierra was nothing short of a girl who fed on love, which meant having someone to share that with.
She was losing her damn mind, last week when she saw him hanging out at the club with a bunch of girls that weren’t her and his sleazy, slutty, annoying homeboys all gathered around, Sierra almost lost her damn mind. So she did the only reasonable thing she could think of; she went out and partied with her best friend, got a few numbers, had men paying for her drinks, and had the best time of her life. Unfortunately the entire time she was pressed against a random man, the only one she could think about was the selfish one who sat on her couch now.
“What was up wit’ you last week?”
“I was perfectly fine last week. Came home, went to practice, minded my business as usual. You got a problem with that?” She mugged, dropping the flowers down on the table and grabbing her remote from the side of her body, attempting to turn on a movie since he had decided she was done with her computer.
He reached over, confiscating the device from her, not missing the way she nudged her foot into his thigh. “Nigga, can you stop.”
“Talk to me, Sierra.” He knew he was pissing her off, it was actually his end goal. Piss her off so bad that she tells him what she really wants (idiot plan)
“Bro, you not bout’ to come in my house just to piss me off. Are you serious?”
“Bro?” He scoffed, gripping her left thigh, enjoying the plush feel of her because it had been a week without her being wrapped around him, he was dying.
“You are such an asshole, I swear.” She rolled her eyes as he pulled her into his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist, hands moving on their own accord to grab her flesh. Her hands usual resting place around his shoulders had been abandoned and instead she crossed them over her chest.
“So let’s talk about why I’m an asshole.” He tapped her left cheek, which peaked through the bottom of her pajamas. Cameron Cade knew all the right things to do and say to have her body react to him, but her mind was a different story. If she had been one of the idiot girls who let him drive her to absolute insanity by having access to her mind, she wouldn’t know what to do, so she kept that part of herself an enigma.
“I’m really not in the mood.” She answered, playing with the strings on his sweats, loosening them a little.
“You could drive a nigga crazy, you know that?” Sierra scoffed, shifting in his lap to get comfortable, she assumed he was staying if he hadn’t already left and had seemed to be making himself at home on her favorite couch.
“Yea and you could just waltz right in my house with apology flowers and ya’ ass don’t even know what you apologizin’ for so I guess we both something special.” She pulled the hood from his head, getting an all star view at his freshly buzzed head as she ran her long acrylics across his scalp just the way he loved. God, Cameron could make the most gorgeous man in the room seem like an everyday regular man. He was so pretty and all she wanted was for him to be all for her because as much as she tried to fake it, nobody in this world had her like Cameron Cade did. Nobody fucked her like Cameron did, nobody spoke to her like Cameron did, and no one sure as hell put up with her the way Cameron did.
His eyes burned into her’s, taking in the feeling of her hands, he hadn’t felt her in a whole week and he hadn’t even gotten a kiss yet, he wouldn’t know what the fuck to do if she would actually let him have her body in the way he wanted to right now. “So tell me what I did, ace.” And this was him begging.
Her hands stilled at the nickname, dragging them down to ground herself, she wasn’t herself when he got all soft and understanding. She looked away, suddenly feeling the draft in her room which clashed his warm hands kneading her flesh. “I can’t...” She paused, genuinely starting to feel how embarrassing and annoying feelings could be.
“I can’t keep being casual with you.” There she is, he thought, trying to keep his grin to himself.
“It’s not what I am, it’s not who I am. When we started this I was okay with just being someone you slept with or whatever i was, but I can’t do that now. Cam I can’t even fuckin’ wake up and not think about what you’re doing or how you slept. It’s killing me. I mean you have a key to my damn apartment and you havent once asked me what I want from this, especially since the only person I’ve been craving for the last two years is you.” Her fingers danced along the pockets of his hoodie, dreading what he was thinking or what he was going to say. She could take rejection, it just was rare that it happened to her. She could feel her palms sweating and her pjs starting to make her feel naked in front of him.
“Come here.” She glanced up at him, feeling the way his hands ran up and down her sides, pulling her body closer. He wasn’t asking her, he was telling her.
“I need you to talk to me,” he whispered, voice thick with emotion he rarely showed. “Tell me how you’re feeling about shit. When you’re scared. When you’re too in your head. When you’re worried I’m drifting. When you’re pissed off at me—especially that. This ain’t one sided, Sierra, I’ve always been yours.”
“Yeah?”
“Hell yeah.”
“I’m sorry I avoided you all week.” She whispered, tracing his lips with her nails. Her pouty lips were kryptonite to any man with a brain, and who was he to deny his woman his forgiveness.
Wrapping a hand around her neck, he pulled her down for a long awaited kiss, and man was it down right nasty. Slow and apologetic, she let him have control, not really in the mood to be her usual preeminent self. His tongue assaulting her’s, allowing him to taste her in the way he wanted. She grounded herself against him, feeling how much he missed her in their week long hiatus.
Cameron assisted her actions, groaning when her hips sped up a little, he needed this to stop because a week without this had made him prone to cum right then and there, and he’d much rather do that when they were both fully naked and in a much more compromising position. “chill for a second, Sierra.” He mumbled into the kiss, placing a light slap to her ass.
She pulled away, dazed and a little giddy. She wiped his mouth free of her lipgloss, and looked down between them, noticing his uncomfortable situation. “Sorry.” Although she looked the farthest thing from sorry.
“It wasn’t fair of me to hold off on you for this long.” His hands decided to make this moment a lot more PG, he didn’t want to over-sexualize this conversation because he meant it a lot to him. “I think I’ve been yours for a long time. Sierra, will you do the honors of letting me be your boyfriend.”
She pretended to think about it for a second, trying not to give away the fact that she’d been wanting this since she was thirteen years old. “I mean if that’s what you want.”
He pinched the side of her stomach, earning a giggle from her, “Sierra.”
“Yea, I’ll let you be my boyfriend, Cade.” She led him back for another kiss, not leaving anything for imagination because he was her boyfriend and she could do that.

“What do you need from me baby?” Cameron asks in a low tone, a sign that he had a long day but was willing to be there for whatever you need. Because once you say your needs, they become his as well with complete enthusiasm.
Fresh out the shower, you fall back on the bed in a dramatic fashion, a timid sigh accompanying it.
The rain beating on your window with it being cracked to let in a breeze, the salt lamp on your bedside table illuminating the room in a soft warm glow and the sweet smell of nag champa incense burning had really set the exact tone for what you needed.
“Unless you have the energy to put me through a mattress.. nothing.”
You can’t even look up at him and his silence to your statement isn’t making the rush from your words any better. The only thing you can hear is the low hum of wind that travels through your window screen, kmaking your nipples hard.
Which Cameron notices.
He can hear his own heart thumping in his ears.
“If that’s what you need from me then let it be what you need,” he sounds more alert now. He didn’t play when it came to bringing you over the threshold into a colorful, blooming bliss.
“But just know you need to say it. Loud and clear. If that’s what you need then own it.”
Your eyes slowly inch their way to his face. His eyes are low, a brewing anticipation coming to fruition in his irises. He licks his lips, a small hitch of breath makes him smirk.
You love his lips. The way they frame yours perfectly in a heated kiss, his tongue swiping against yours.
You also love the way they wrap around your nipples when he’s deep inside you, driving you over the edge just for him to catch you. Then there’s the way they kiss your neck and thighs, or when he’s on his stomach, grinding against the bed as his lips kiss and slurp at your pussy. He’s so gentle on your clit, like he’s making out with it and his fingers deeeeeeeep insi-
“Baby.” His voice brings you back into the moment, “What do you need from me?”
Tongue in cheek, you look down to your hands, his gaze was so heavy and you felt so small under it.
“tuhpuhmethewthamadtress…” a jumbled mess of words, yet he knows exactly what was said. You’ve got him in the mood now, but not just any mood. He’s in the mood to make you crumble in his hands.
“Say it, Y/N. If you want me digging in your guts then say it with your chest. If you want my dick so badly just say it.”
“Oh my God, Cameron.” Your eyes are wide and cheeks warm at his verbiage. Your thighs were already clenching and Cameron being the observant man he is, noticed that too.
“What?” He chuckles quickly, biting his bottom lip and scooting closer to you until his lips are ghosting over the hot flesh of your neck.
“You don’t wanna make those pretty sounds for me, baby? That one you make when I’m hitting that spot so good your brain short circuits. You don’t wanna make that pussy splash on me while she swallows me in?”
“Fuck, Cam. Please!,” a futile attempt at getting your way without giving in to him.
“Please, what, Y/N? C’mon, Pretty. Tell me what you need.” You feel him smiling while he kisses below your ear, the tickle of his breath making you antsy.
“Fuck… I need it. I need you to put me through the mattress, please!”
A deep rumble of his laugh vibrates through your chest.
“You look so fucking good, baby.” His eyes roam over your body and you try not to cringe because you’re in your bonnet and a pink muumuu. You feel as though you look homely.
“Gonna cum in you so deep. Wanna get you pregnant.” he rolls over so he’s slouched against the headboard and he brings you with him, making your straddle his leg.
You two talked like this all the time without something actually coming from it.
Cameron brings you down for a kiss so intense you’re breathing each other’s air. He brings his knee up and you instantly moan in his mouth, pleasure shooting through your veins.
He grabs your hips, taking the initiative to rock you back and forth to elicit another pretty sound from you.
“You like that, Blossom?” His teeth nipping at his lip as if he was deriving pleasure from it himself and in a way he is. He can feel your breath quickening, he can hear the hushed pleas between kisses and it’s making his dick grow harder in his boxers.
You sit up and look down at him, confidence flooded through your veins, you begin to slowly scrunch your night gown in your hands and pull it up to reveal your breasts. The supple flesh swaying as you ride Cameron’s thigh.
“You’re so fucking sexy, Blossom.” He reaches up to pinch your nipples, siphoning another sound of bliss out of you.
“My pretty little flower. Gonna fuck you so deep. Does that sound good? Is that what you need, baby?”
He twists your nipples with a teasing pout, his mouth waters when his eyes travel down your torso to your tummy, where stretch marks are delicately placed. He loved every inch of you, even parts you try to hide.
“Need you, baby.” You huff, head rolling back as your pleasure pricks your body like a heat wave, “Need that dick. Wanna make a mess.”
Cameron looks down to see the mess you’re already making on his thigh. He swallows a deep groan, trying to keep his eyes from rolling.
“Lemme feel her.” He doesn’t wait for a response before he lowers his leg just enough to slip his fingers beneath you and insert them.
Cameron’s brows furrowed and his jaw dropped. No matter how many times you two get intimate, he will always be surprised by how wet you get for him.
“So fucking messy already. You really want my dick in you, huh?”
“Please, baby?” Your delicate hand grasped his neck, lowering yourself to kiss him while his fingers plunged into you and made the messiest squelching sounds.
“Fuck, Blossom.” His jaw clenches once again, he’s getting lightheaded from you squeezing at the sides of his neck, “I feel you pulsing around my fingers. Oh my God. Fuuuuuu-“
Your lips cover his causing you swap each other’s whimpers and groans. When you pull back to look at him, his lips are covered in a mix of your saliva and his. His cheeks are flushed, his eyes are dark and his eyelids heavy.
“I feel you, Blossom. I feel you baby, gimme what I want baby. I can fucking feel you.”
Cameron was never shy to be vocal and he was never shy to show his craving for you. He could be choking you out and fucking you six ways from Sunday yet still pout and ache for you.
“Cam, fu- don’t stop! Don’t stop!” Your other hand began to make circles on your clit, finding that right spot to take you over the cliff.
Your sweaty foreheads are touching, hazy eyes looking at one another and your bodies are buzzing at the same time.
His fingers are so long and they reach spots that not even your own can reach. This very fact causes you to mewl uncontrollably until you feel the knot getting ready to release.
Your hand is still around his neck and he was kissing all over your cheeks and neck. He could cum just like this if it came to it.
Your grasp on his neck tightens while your muscles clench and release from your orgasm crashing down.
“That’s my girl.” He was out of breath, fingers still inside you as you rest against his shirtless chest, hearing the thrum of his own heartbeat matching yours.
You pepper kisses on his chest and down to his stomach once your pulse is no longer the only thing you hear. When you get to the waistband of his boxers, you snap the band and chuckle at his little flinch.
“You wanna play games?” His fists balled up in your night gown to flip you onto your back. Your core instantly aching when his gold cross sways in your face and his eyes are peering down at you like he’s starving.
He’s so fucking hungry for you. He can never get enough.
“Put the pillow under your ass.” He instructs. You said you wanted to be put through the mattress, he will do just that. He cares about the correct angles and the right words to make you melt.
He is precise.
He lowers his boxers and his dick bounces once released. The tip leaking, dying for attention.
So, you reach for him. Your hand wrapping around the girth of him, gasping as if you’ve never felt it before. He doesn’t tear his eyes off of you though, not even when your thumb spreads the precum over his tip, the slit leaking even more.
A satisfied grunt lightly bounces off the walls, he’s ready to bottom out in you and fill you up the way the both of you need.
“You gonna put him in?” He gently thrusts, nudging your clit, making you flinch at the contact.
“Don’t run. You know you don’t get to run from me, right, Blossom?”
“Yes, baby.”
He’s over you again, giving another breathtaking kiss as he slides in you, making you pull back and moan out his name.
“Cam,” your hands fly to his shoulders to ground yourself. He’s got your legs wide open to take him the way you wanted.
“Shhhh, it’s okay. Just take it, baby. I know it’s a lot but you wanted this.”
“Mhm!!” Your back arches off the bed when he starts rolling his hips in a steady motion.
Feeling him against your cervix has your stomach in knots and your eyes prickling with tears.
“We just started and you’re crying already?” His face was decorated in a devious smirk. It’s too much already. You’re clenching so tight you’re pushing him out and he wasn’t gonna have that.
“Don’t even think about it. Don’t push me out. Take it.”
“Hunnhhhgg, fuck!” Your toes curl so hard they crack. You try to lift your head to watch his dick disappear into you but you just can’t keep your head up long enough to be hypnotized by it.
You hold your own legs wide open for him. Basking in the fire that flourishes across your skin.
“You fuck me sooo… goooood!” You feel the tears drip on your cheeks and Cam is quick to swipe one with his thumb to gently open your mouth and place it on your tongue.
Your lips instantly wrap around the appendage and your eyes cross.
“Thaaaaat’s right, Blossom. You’re such a good girl. Such a perfect pussy swallowing me whole. You feel that baby? Where do you feel it?”
His hand presses on your lower stomach, making your back arch off the bed, your eyes in the back of your head once again. All you can do is let out pathetic moans as he drills you.
“Tell me where I’m at or I’ll stop. You don’t want me to stop, do you?”
“N-… nnnnnnn!!!” You let go of your legs and claw at the sheets, trying to find any semblance of balance. Trying to find something tangible to keep yourself grounded but his dick has you so high.
“N-n-n! Not good enough!” He taunts, slowing his strokes, teasing you. He loves to watch you squirm.
“Please, Cam. Noooooo!” A sob wrecks your body. It felt too good for him to stop.
He bends over, sucking a nipple into your mouth, using a hand to play with the other, slooooowly building up his pace.
“F-fuck… fuck!” Your hand flies to the back of his neck to keep him there. Loving the way he bites and tugs at the sensitive buds. The twinge of pain making your legs shake.
“M-my… my stomach.” You whisper. Cameron pulls off with a pop.
“Hmm?” His eyes were misty with arousal. A beautiful, stormy fog was displayed in the eyes of the man that you adored so much.
“My stomach. You were in my stomach!” Your hands grab at him, not feeling close enough, “You were in my stomach and I want it back! I need it. Please, baby? I can take it. I’ll prove it to you. I’ll take i-“
Cam was quick. He placed one of your legs on his shoulder, his face only a few inches from yours and he picked up his momentum once again.
“My perfect little flower.” He gasps, body trembling when you clench down against him. You were so wet, so wet even that you began to splash on his pelvis just like he wanted.
“I bloom only for you!” You cry against his neck, your nails digging into his back. You feel your bonnet slipping off but you can’t even seem to care while his hands grip the back of your thighs to pin you down and go even deeper.
“And I burn for you, Blossom. You’re doing such a good job taking my dick. I fucking feel it. You’re gonna cum for me, aren’t you?”
“Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yeeeeeesss!” You did everything you could to lift your head up and look him in the eyes, jaw slacking as you worked up the ability to speak.
“I’m your perfect flower! Gonna cum for you, gonna make a mess on that dick, baby.”
Cameron swears under his breath, sometimes you make it so hard for him to last, especially when you feel like this and talk like that.
“It’s all yours. This dick is all yours. You couldn’t help but need it.”
Whines of affirmation is all he gets but he’ll take it. He knows how much your brain turns to mush when he fucks you like this.
You two share a sloppy kiss, your hands gripping both of his cheeks to keep him there. You needed to feel him on you in every way.
“I’m gonna fucking cum for you.” Your voice cracks as you whisper, fearing that if you speak loudly the words will be incoherent
“Yeah?” He smirks against your lips and it’s intoxicating.
“Yeah!” Your head bobbing ferociously, “Then you’re gonna fill me up so fucking good. Wan’ you t-to cum me, Cam. Please? Please!”
Cameron let out an animalistic groan, trying to keep his composure with the way your pussy was sucking him in like it didn’t want him to leave.
Your legs were twitching as the knot tightened in your stomach again. It scared you just how good it felt, your eyes were fluttering uncontrollably and your core pulsated harder than it ever has. Your hands were grasping at any and everything, it was too much.
You were choking on your own moans when he started rolling his hips slowly. Being intentional with his movements, knowing what they’ll do to you.
“You’re such a pretty girl, Blossom. You’re so pretty when you take my dick like this.”
You know he thinks you’re always pretty but it’s something about the way he says it during sex that riles you up.
You start fucking him back, chasing the high to get to the climax. You were seeing stars dance around his head, tears spilling over the edge of your waterline. A pathetic, drawn out moan escapes you, a sign of all the built up stress finally escaping thanks to him digging it out of you.
Cameron saw how your body twitched and contorted, smirking to himself knowing that you were trying to hold your orgasm back. But it was so strong, he could tell, you weren’t lasting much longer.
“Give it to me,” He mumbles. With both legs on his shoulders now, he pressed forward, literally folding you under him. His hands cradle your face to keep your eyes straight and on him.
“I feel that pretty pussy clenching on me, fuck, Blossom, give it to me. Gimme what I want. Won’t you give it to me, baby? Please?”
“Fuck!” You tried to take deep breaths to keep yourself grounded but it wasn’t working. It felt too fucking good. The current of the pleasure pulled you out to sea, throwing you each and every way before you could finally get your head above the water and give in.
Your hands wrap around his wrists and at first you’re embarrassed by the sounds you make. A mix between cute whimpers and untamed moans but he was there to talk you through it.
“That’s it, Blossom. Take it. I know it feels good, baby, just feel it. Take my dick, take what I give you. You’re okay. You feel so fucking good.” He was such a rambler when you two were like this, letting his thoughts flow like a river and it did the trick every time.
“G-God…. dammiiiit, Cam!” Your back arches off the bed when he doesn’t even slow down his motions when your orgasm hits you. He continues his pace and it’s driving you completely mad.
There’s so much wetness, so many lewd sounds. You’re thankful you two no longer live in a duplex or else this would warrant a noise complaint.
Cameron’s right arm braces himself against the head board while his left arm holds your right thigh to your chest. His eyes roll when he looks down to see himself glistening and covered in your cum. It’s a captivating mix between clear slick and milky cream, it makes his heart skip a beat knowing he does this to you.
This is all he ever wanted. Someone who he can make love to. Someone who can be in their realest form and feral with him.
He whimpers. His own core begins to burn from putting in so much work and he’s about to spill.
“Fill me uuuuup, Cam.” A long drawn out whine leaves the depths of your throat, you were trembling beneath him, about to cum one more time before you’re spent. But seeing him like this, feeling him like this was too delicious, you had to savor it, even with your legs burning and your curled toes cramping.
“I’m gonna fucking cum.” He growls through clenched teeth, “Fuck, baby I’m gonna cum!”
Cameron’s eyes meet yours and that’s it for the both of you.
There is a shared flame ablaze between you two. His jaw hung open, his eyes fluttering as he stared into yours.
“I want it, I want it, I want it!” You’re clenching and throbbing around him as you cum one final time for the night.
“Nnnnnffffffuuuuuuuuu!” His words fall short as the wave crashes down on him. Sex was always amazing with you but something about tonight just felt… different. His orgasm was so strong, tears pricked his eyes and his body shivered beyond his control.
“You’re okay. You’re okay, baby. I’m right here,” you kissed him along his jawline to help bring him down. Both of you were sweaty and out of breath, sharing breathless kisses, pulling each other as close as possible as if he’s not still inside you.
“I love you so fucking much.” He whispered, completely tuckered out.
“I love you more.” Your hand caressed the nape of his neck, rejoicing in the feeling of his skin on yours, in its clammy glory and all.
It took some time before you two found the energy to get up and clean yourselves, resulting in another shower, shared this time.
“It felt different this time.” He mumbles while washing your back.
You peek over your shoulder with a gentle, curious frown, “Is that a bad thing?”
A bashful grin spreads across his lips and he bows his head to avert from your gaze.
“Not at all,” he takes the shower head and washes the vanilla scented bubbles off your back, “Just… maybe we should take a test in a few weeks…?”
His words sit in the steamy air. It’s his turn for his stomach to flip at your silence tonight.
You forgot a condom and while this isn’t the first time… you two usually use spermicide when you don’t feel like using one.
You didn’t use that either.
“Should… sh-should I take a trip to the pharmacy tomorrow?”
Now it’s your turn for your words to hang between you two. You feel a small breeze when his arm reaches past you to hang the shower head back up.
Then he pulls you closer, swaying you two back and forth.
“Would it freak you out if I said no?”
The concept of starting a family wasn’t foreign to you two. It’s been brought up multiple times within the three years you two have been together, there was just never a concrete plan.
You fully turn yourself around in his arms, wrapping yours around his neck, letting your wet fingertips massage his scalp.
“And if I said it wouldn’t?”
It was a game of tag at this point. Asking a question for the other to let it stew a bit before either responding completely or letting the tension build with their own question.
“I meant it when I said I burn for you.” He states, eyes low and tone serious, “The thought of starting a family with you doesn’t scare me. I burn for you and I burn for it.”
Your heart skips a beat, taking in his words, slowly nodding.
“I meant it when I said I bloom only for you, Cam. If you’re ready, I’m ready.”
A small grin twitches on your lips when you see his eyelashes bat, trying to keep his composure.
A moment of hot desire turned into something you hadn’t expected. A moment of pure sexual hunger turned into something so soft and domestic.
Something so wild turned into something so pure. You always knew Cameron was endgame. He called it before you even did, he wanted this *long before you did.
“I burn for you” is his way of saying “I love you”. Cameron is a complete and utter yearner, his feelings for you are so deep-seated that he hates to be away from you. Before, he didn’t mind traveling for games or being away for shoots and brand deals but since meeting you, it’s a different story.
You say “I bloom for you” as a response. Cameron was the first man to hold space for you. So that you can feel soft and delicate. The first man for you to feel safe enough to open up to and show who you are inside. He didn’t tear your petals off to steal the beauty and health for himself, no. He handled you with care to aid in your longevity.
The two of you brought out something in each other. Something that both of you were too cautious to show anyone before.
But it was worth it to wait.
To bloom and to burn is to love and live in all the glory and gritty feelings that love brings.
To bloom and to burn is to relish in the kisses that result in teeth clashing and the gentle touches that leave goosebumps in their wake.
To bloom and to burn is to not only call out each other’s name in the midst of lust but to whisper them in your sleep when the night is quiet.
To bloom and to burn is to, well… exactly that.
Bloom and Burn.

Indiyah sits on her couch, arms wrapped around her best friend as she bawls her eyes out.
“I don’t get it Indy, I’ve been nothing but good and supportive to him and he keeps treating me like shit. But this? THIS?! I’m done. He can’t come back from cheating”
Indiyah listens attentively to her bestie as she rubs soothing circles on her back. Her heart was breaking for her bestie. She’s been distraught ever since she found out her boyfriend of two years, Cameron Cade was cheating on her.
“I’m going to break every limb on that motherfucker so that he won’t play another season of football ever again. Say the word and I’ll do it Kamil I swear”
Indiyah says through gritted teeth. Kamil sniffs sitting up and removing herself from her bestie's hold.
“I don’t even want to think about him honestly. Fuck him”
“Yeah, that’s right sister, fuck his tall ass”
As if he knows that they are talking about him. Kamil’s phone rings. Cam’s name flashing across the screen.
“Ughhhh I canttttt” she wails as she throws herself onto the couch
“You didn’t block him?”
Kamil shakes her head as she curls into herself. Indiyah lets out a deep sigh.
The phone rings nonstop for a good two minutes before Indiyah reaches over and turns the phone off.
“We need shots or wine…or both” Indiyah gets up to head to her kitchen when her phone vibrates on the table.
She glances from the table to her bestie. Kamil’s wide eyes already sat on her.
“You think that’s Cam?” I ask her
“I know it is”
“Do you want me to answer? Actually I’m going to answer anyway. I have a few choice words for him”
Indiyah leans over picking up her phone but Kamil stands from the couch and grabs her arm.
“No, wait”
“What?”
“Don’t answer, please”
Indiyah eyes her best friend for a moment before ultimately deciding to just leave the phone alone.
“Ok, whatever you want”
She goes to place her phone down but it rings again. Kamil looks at the phone ringing in Indiyah’s hand.
“Maybe…maybe we just see what he has to say”
Indiyah lifts a questioning brow
“Are you sure?”
She nods her head. Indiyah’s thumb hovers over accept for a few seconds before answering and putting the phone to her ear.
“Hello, cheaters hotline, how may I help you?”
“Real funny Indy” Cam scoffs on the other end of the line
Put it on speaker Kamil mouths to the girl. Indiyah pulls the phone back and places it on speaker. She sits next to her bestie as they both lean closer to the phone.
“I hope you had fun playing football because the next time I see you you won’t even be able to lift a ball let alone throw one”
“I didn’t call to hear your bullshit forreal” Cam lets out an annoyed huff
“Mind you this is my phone. I don’t care”
“Is Kamil with you?”
“Nope” she replied instantly
“You straight lying…Kamil baby if you can hear me I’m sorry I promise I’m going to find a way to make this right”
“And how will you do that Cameron?” Indiyah asks
“Indiyah, this doesn't have shit to do with you!” he raises his voice
“But it does tho. I told you Cam don’t break her fucking heart and what did you do?!”
When Kamil and Cam started dating three years ago during the start of Freshman year in college she was adamant about Cam treating her best friend right. Indiyah and Kamil had met the year prior to starting college and had been inseparable since. Kamil’s losses were Indiyah’s losses and vice versa so this was hurting her just as much.
“You ain’t nothing but a bitch made ass nigga!”
Kamil snickers beside her
“Aye chill out forreal”
Indiyah ignores him “The best thing you can do right now is leave her alone and let her heal in peace”
She doesn’t let him get a word in before she continues her verbal abuse
“Oh and another thing” she pauses for the dramatic effect “When you see that black car coming? Duck” With that Indiyah hangs up the phone and turns it off, throwing it on the couch beside Kamil’s.
“Ok that boosted my mood by like ten percent” Kamil half smiles
“Good. Let’s keep making the percentage go up by popping open a bottle of wine”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The next day Indiyah planned on going to her best friend's apartment after her morning class to check on her and keep her company. But Kamil stated that she was grateful for yesterday but she just wanted to be alone. Indiyah reluctantly agreed not to go over and let her have the morning and afternoon to herself but she was going to check up on her later that night.
The sound of someone beating on her door pulls her from her thoughts. Indiyah slides out of her bed and down the hall to the front door. She stands on her toes looking through the peephole and spots Cam on the other end. She lets out a groan before unlocking and opening the door.
“What do you—“
Cam bombards his way into your apartment like he owns the place.
“Where is she?”
“Excuse you?! Have you lost your mind??!”
“Her car wasn’t in her parking spot at her apartments I know she’s here”
Indiyah closes the apartment door turning around perplexed by Cam’s sudden intrusion.
“Kamil?!”
He shouts walking through the apartment searching the back room before returning to the living room.
“She’s not here dummy”
“Yeah aight. Just like how you lied and said she wasn’t here last night?”
“The only liar in this room is you” Indiyah crosses her arms hip popped out glancing at Cam
Cam stops his movements as he stalks towards her.
“You know…I’m ‘bout tired of you calling me names”
“Well it’s true”
“Mmh”
Cam’s standing in front of her now. His eyes wandered over her figure in the grey leggings and white off the shoulder crop top. Their bodies are inches apart. He closes the small gap pressing his chest against hers. Lifting a hand he wraps it around her throat, staring down into her eyes.
“I’m a bitch ass nigga right?”
His voice low and controlled as he repeats the words she said to him last night. Indiyah shrugs her shoulders.
“You know you ain’t shit”
“If I ain’t shit what does that make you?” he lifts a brow at the girl
She scoffs and swats his hand away. He backs up from her and goes to sit on her couch. Legs spread out.
“I can’t believe you were so careless Cam” she stands directly in front of him.
He swipes the hood from his head looking up to her as his sharp piercing stare makes it hard to keep her thoughts together.
“She don’t know it was you”
Cam and Indiyah started this little entanglement about a year ago. Kamil always came to Indiyah with the relationship problems that she had with Cam. And like the good best friend she was, she listened and gave her input when needed. The problem started when Cam also started to confide in her as well. Just a listening ear. But the relationship advice and casual conversations blurred into a whole new dangerous territory.
Indiyah smacks her lips “She could have tho! Why the fuck would you print that picture out and have it in your room?!”
“I bust a nut to it” he says all calm and nonchalant
She rolls her eyes as Cam reaches out, pulling her to him by the back of her thighs. His calloused hands slid up rubbing her round and curvy ass.
“My bad Indy. I didn’t mean for all of this to blow up. But I promise you she won’t find out it’s you” his tone apologetic
“Whatever…” her voice trails off
Cam’s gaze lands on her plush lips. Her cute little natural pout made her look even more irresistible.
“Give me a kiss”
She leans down, placing a quick kiss to his lips. He scrunches his face before smacking her ass hard.
“You playing”
Indiyah giggles bending down to kiss him again. She pecks his lips a few times, keeping the last peck on his lips a few seconds longer. Before she can pull away, he stands from the couch without breaking the kiss, his tall form towering over her. He hooks his arms behind her knees and lifts her. Her legs instinctively wrap around his waist and her arms around his neck carrying her down the hall to her bedroom.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Fuck fuck fuckkkk Cam” Indiyah moans
Cam looks down to where their bodies are connected. Watching in amazement as his dick plunges in and out of her pussy. Her juices coating him.
“Fuck, this shit slippery baby”
“Don’t call me that” a whiny moan escapes from her lips
“Why not?”
She ignored his question. He lifts her right leg and places it on his shoulder. Leaning over her body. The position has her leg pressing against the headboard. He runs his thumb along her bottom lip separating and slipping it inside of her mouth. She swirls her tongue around the tip of his thumb before sucking on it.
“You my baby right?”
Cam slows down his movements to a slow and delicious pace. His hips rocking against her in long slow deep thrusts. Indiyah’s body writhes in pleasure.
“Say it. Tell me you my baby”
His gravelly voice mumbles into her ear. Removing his thumb and placing a trail of soft gentle kisses from her ear to her jaw before hovering over her lips.
“Yesss, I’m your baby”
“Damn right you are. This my shit”
Cam reaches between their bodies finding her clit and rubbing it in circular motions. Indiyah’s back arches off the bed, her chest pressed against his as her mouth falls open in silent pleasure.
“Let me hear you pretty girl”
Cam mumbles in the crook of her neck. Kissing, licking and biting the sensitive skin of the area. The squelching sounds of their fluids mixing can be heard through the room as Cam picks up his pace.
“Oh shittt yes yes yesss” she screams as her orgasm hits her. Cam continues to pound into her chasing his own release. His hot and panty breath fanning over her skin.
“Fuck!” Cam grips her thigh hard as he releases inside of her.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Indiyah taps her fingers on the steering impatiently. She pushes her head back against the headrest.
“Kamil, I love you, I really do. But I will go crazy if we continue to just sit here and not do anything”
They were currently sitting in the parking lot of Cam’s apartment complex. The spot they chose gives them the perfect view of his front door.
“I know I’m sorry”
“You don’t have to apologize. I just need to know what we are doing here because you know I’m down to tag team his ass”
Kamil sighs
“Just give me a few minutes to think…he should be coming home from practice soon” she mumbles her gaze never leaving his front door.
“Fine”
“What if she’s up there waiting for him to get home? Like I use to…laid up in in his bed with his shirt on just…waiting to welcome him home”
Indiyah pouts. Reaching over and placing her hand on her shoulder.
“Hey, don't think about what used to be. I know it hurts but you deserve so much better than him”
“I know, it’s just so hard”
Indiyah’s face softens. Kamil looks over to her best friend with a sad smile.
he came into the diner regularly, same time every morning, sitting by himself in a booth in the far corner of your section each time. always ordered a black coffee, adding two sugars to it later.
he was a kind man, always smiling at you, calling you sweetheart. a doctor, you assumed from the scrubs he wore. he didn't chat much, but you didn't mind, he didn't give you much of a hassle unlike the rough, rude truckers that would come through, attempting to flirt with you as you were just trying to get through your shift. he always tipped heavily, leaving you few twenties, which was a lot compared to the price of the coffee he'd order.
you liked him, not like, but like. he was good looking, extremely kind, seemed to have a good head on his shoulders, seemed manly, like a provider and a good lover.
but it was silly, you didn't know his name and he didn't know yours. he'd been coming into the diner for months, but your conversations were minimal, limited to good mornings, taking his order, and see you tomorrow's. still, you thought he was the best part of your shift, looking forward to him coming in every morning.
then one morning he came in, being kind as usual, but you finally noticed a ring on his finger, he was a married man. you've had a silly little crush on a married man this entire time, you felt disgusted with yourself. after that morning you begged your coworker to switch sections with you, she agreed, saving you from your embarrassment.
the next day, jack came in, happy and looking forward to seeing you, only to look up and find out you weren't his waitress anymore. his eyes searched for you, finding you at a booth on the other end of the diner, taking someone else's order.
his face dropped because he had grown a special interest for you. why else would he come into the diner each morning after his shift to drink coffee that he could make at home? he thought maybe he'd accidentally offended you somehow, you were a little off yesterday.
your eyes wandered as you took an elderly couple's order, he was staring at you from his usual booth, his brows were furrowed, he seemed confused. you immediately looked away, focusing on the customers in front of you.
jack wanted to ask for you, so he could apologize for whatever he'd done to you and assure you he wouldn't do it again if you were his waitress again, but jack realized, he didn't know your name and you didn't know his.

A lil blurb inspired by my fave video: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTS8nyPAP/

“Baby! I’m about to leave,” Cameron says as he walks out of your shared bedroom to go to practice.
“I’m in here,” you yell back from the kitchen, making him stop in his tracks.
As he follows the sound of your voice, he pauses and takes in the sight before him.
You’re bent over the kitchen counter in one of his hoodie and a pair of your booty shorts. Completely engrossed in your phone call, looking as fine as ever.
“That’s so crazy! No, he didn’t tell me that,” you exclaimed as you continued to snack on the chips.
He walks over to you, pressing a kiss to your forehead and wrapping his arms around your soft stomach.
“Imma be back in like two hours, bae. You'd better still look this sexy when I get back,” he whispered in your ear.
This earned him a playful smack to the chest and a chuckle, as you were still on the phone.
You offered him a kiss and leaned up to give him a soft peck on the lips. You turn back to your original position to finish your conversation.
Not being able to resist himself, Cameron lands a soft pat on your butt before heading out the door.
For some reason, that soft tap was very unsatisfying to you.
“Unh unh! I didn’t like that”
“What are you talking about?” Cam replies with a chuckle before swinging his head back in your direction.
“Don’t pat me on the back like I’m one of yo lil homeboys! Do it right,” you exclaimed, rolling your eyes and shaking your head.
Without a word, Cam walks back over to you, grabs you by the hips, and lands a hard smack on your plush ass. The slap being able to be heard through the entire apartment.
“Ouu-“This action makes you jump a little bit as you feel a wetness start to grow between your legs.
With that, Cam places another kiss on your lips before turning to the door.
You feel a heat reach your face as you bite your lip. “Ok, I’ll see you later, baby.”
When the door finally clicks shut, you lean yourself against the corner with a giant smirk on your lips, forgetting about your phone.
“Bitch!" your friend shouted. "Hello?! What the fuck just happened? Y'all are freaky as hell!"

A/N: It’s officially summer y’all! (I’ll be over it as soon as the weather stays above 85 where I’m at tbh 💀) Anyway Cameron won just like I knew he would lol but it was a close call with Ledger—don’t worry Ledger girlies I’ll still do that piece at some point too. Hope this little thing brings you some joy.
WARNINGS: Bossy!Cam, guess you can say this is OC-ish since reader has a name—not much physical descriptions besides hair being mentioned, minor background + career cited, language, comedy/unserious-ness, & references.

He’s with a fan.
It was only a matter of time and no shape or form was Souline Delaroche bothered by that.
Gave her more time to stall after Cameron decided to dump this news on her as they sat across from each other, bellies stuffed with the itis swimming in her eyes.
Her back is against the wall like Brenda Meeks when she ducks behind the stone structure.
Phone out, starting up another TikTok and ignoring the whole: YoU’RE ACcUMuLAtiNG tOo MANy DrAFTS message, she holds the lens of her camera out along the edge of the wall, zooming in on Cameron standing, hands folding underneath his arms as he nodded along, grinning at whatever the supporter was saying to him.
Then she begins another clip, running her fingers through her invisible micro link install that came right out of her scalp, thick Prada shades perched up on type of her head, before suddenly remembering not to have her arm out too far now, angling her phone lens upwards to start talking, leaving only her hairline and brows in view.
She whispers over the soft jazz music that plays at this outdoor restaurant, “Tell me why thee FUCK, this man is trying to get me to workout when we’re on vacation? In St. Barts at that!”
Souline sighs, lifting the camera downwards to show her face again but she’s peeking around her to make sure Cameron is still busy, “Like? I’m confused. We just got here—two days ago but still. We relaxed the first day because we got here late. Then the day after? Man has a whole itinerary—which is fine because we love a man that can make plans but also? Why are you trying to do laps in the pool at six in the morning? And then think we’re gonna go on a hike by eight? This is what it’s like dating an athlete—now I understand mom. You married one in the nineties! S.O.S. And that’s on Rihanna, I swear to God.”
The crystal water from the view breezes by smelling of salt and light like floral that eases the brief stress from Souline. She flips the view to the turquoise waters and pastel colored buildings in the distance off to the right.
Slowly panning over to the left towards the dining area was a mistake.
The yelp she lets out is enough for her to realize she’s been caught.
“You done talkin’ shit so we can put this work in or what?” Cameron Cade stands by the edge of the wall, shoulder pressing into the stone as his eyes are set on his dramatic journalist of a girlfriend.
She stops recording.
“…and if I say no?”
Cameron puffs out a humorless laugh, “Then you don’t get that Prada bag that you’ve been eyeing for weeks—which I put on hold here this morning at that boutique we drove by and that Dior bag might just turn up missin’. Your choice.”
Souline’s nose crinkles in irritation when she peeks down at the exact Dior bag that’s hanging onto her wrist. She takes a deep inhale, shoving her phone back into her bag. Then she lifts her head meeting his challenging indigo-eyed stare, “I will not apologize for having an excellent breakfast.”
Cameron frowns.
“It was balanced. Sufficient. There’s benefits to exercising after devouring food, believe me when I say that, big back. You’ll be thanking me later since you’re missing out on Pilates this week.”
Souline’s mouth drops while she picks up on the teasing in his tone. A faint dimple appears on the side of his cheek as she steps towards him, finger pointed in his direction, “Did you just call me a linebacker, Cameron Samuel Cade?”
“Nah. Didn’t say all that,” Cameron rolls his eyes at the middle name drop as he meets her toe to toe, “Far from a body shamer baby. Love all that you are…but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be on your ass, especially when you’re on my team.”
Souline hated how much she liked hearing that.
Which was unfortunate.
It was making a perfectly reasonable argument much harder to win.
She keeps her chin up though, moving to step around Cameron but he simply matches with her, tossing his arm over her shoulder, and tucking her into his side.
It was all, “Slight work, I promise,” as they ride in the red Moke back to the Villa.
Cameron Cade was the only one looking like a bombshell—as if the concept of fatigue was foreign to him. While Souline lay on the mat, bare knees up swaying from side to side, folded hands pressed against her damp forehead, she fought hard to catch her breath.
It had to be over an hour of exercising.
Cameron’s definition of light exercise was completely different from Souline’s.
This was actually relaxing to him.
How sick!
She was used to thirty minute Cardio on her own every now and then. She’s also only been to Pilates with her sister and her friends once or twice—but that was THEIR thing.
Souline just wanted to try it out.
She even gave into the propaganda.
Now the Pilates reformer that Cameron actually set up back at her place was collecting dust if her sister wasn’t over taking full advantage of it.
She should have known better messing around with a dedicated athlete.
“C’mon, Soul. Up. We hitting the chest raises next.” Cameron calls out, dropping down from the pull-up machine.
Souline peeks over as Cameron is making his way over to her. Her heartbeat is in her ears as she slowly shakes her head.
“…I’m cool.”
“What?”
“I said…I don’t wanna be a gym baddie no more.” Souline pushes up onto her elbows and even that feels like a crime but her eyes sit on the shirtless 6’5 man standing over her, “The more I do these sessions with you? The heller the nah.”
Cameron blinks at her, leaning forward to smack at her calf, “I let you have your five minute break. Hydrate some more. Then get those dumbbells. I’m not playin’ with you.”
He turns his back but that doesn’t stop him from feeling Souline’s glare.
She scoffs and drops back down, head lolling around like a bad ass kid throwing a tantrum in store. Soul thinks she’s muttering to herself just as Future’s voice fades into a Don Toliver track, “…got me feelin’ like Chante Moore: just leave me alone, nee-ga.”
Cameron whips his head around, “Oh you a real comedian huh? Watch this.”
Being dragged by the ankles and tossed up into the air like Souline was suddenly on the cheerleading squad again (that she hated so bad) was insane work, truly.
Hanging over his shoulder like this was NOT it.
Low-key Souline was starting to wonder if Cameron had intentions of trying to kill her.
She would never voice this out loud since that’s a sensitive topic to even joke about—with the whole cult scandal thing but we can all keep a secret.
Right?
His large hand smacks right at her backside, made her hiss and consider jamming her elbow into the back of his head but since she was a considerate girlfriend, who was mindful of his concussions, she decided against that.
“Knock it the fuck off, Joe Jackson.”
“Aye now, don’t you ever compare me to that bitch.”
“Then act like you have some sense, Cam.” Souline bites back while said man starts to lower her back onto her feet, “We’ve been at this for two hours.”
Cam sucks his teeth at her and looks at his watch, “It’s only been forty-five minutes.”
Only?
“Of hell!”
“You a quitter?”
“Yup.” Souline nods her head obnoxiously, “I sure am!”
Cam snorts, “Aight then go. And have fun writing about me in your journal like Moesha.”
A flat look is immediately sent his way when he attempts to wave her off.
It’s like he sees what she’s imagining in her head before she even does it. Almost as if the old scar on his scalp tingles like a left in too long relaxer just before she lunges at him.
He could have stepped to the side but the last thing he wanted was for Souline to ever get hurt.
So he meets the force with a grunt.
Her shoulder is digging into his torso, he curls around her like he’s about to yell, “hut,” with a devilish smirk.
“There she is.”
Cameron Cade holds strong around her tugging, amusement taking over his body.

Three hours later…after some much needed rest that Souline was actually right about…
Cameron manages to persuade Souline into another outing in town during the late June afternoon.
She’s passenger side beside him in the apple red Moze, glossed lip combo wrapped around the thin black plastic straw, lightly sipping on the fresh pressed juice from the smoothie bar Cam suggested they taste test.
He told her to pick one for him since the menu was only in French and she so happened to be fluent in it, while his mom ended up calling at the moment they were deciding. So he stepped out of line after Souline called out her hello’s to the woman, before Cameron moved to the side to chat with his mom privately.
“How’s everything going, baby? You guys having fun and staying out of trouble?” His mother asks but he already knows what she’s hinting at.
Cam almost smirks to himself at the memory of pushing Soul’s buttons at the villa’s gym to cushioning the back of her head in the steaming shower before her damp body met the slippery tile.
“As much good trouble that’s allowed, ma.”
The woman that gave him life warns, “Cameron Cade.”
Cameron laughs, sliding past that, “Wanna hear the latest about the ring?”
“Yes, Father God!”
“You sure?” He instigates.
“As sure as I am that my president will always be black.”
He grins.
Cam sadly left his, “Take A Hike!” Right in the cup holder after three sips.
“What’s wrong? You don’t like it. I thought it was fitting?” Souline geninuely questions.
With one hand on the wheel, Cam clears his throat, “These are juice cleanses. My stomach is talking and telling me I gotta take it slow. There’s definitely kale in that. I can tell.”
Souline’s mouth forms into a “o,” with a nod of her head until she breathes out a laugh.
It’s Cameron’s turn to send her a side eye.
“I know you’re not laughing.”
“I’m not. I swear.”
“Got you that bag and now you don’t know how to act.” Cameron sits up in the driver’s side then glances over at his girlfriend, “…Did you set me up?”
“What?!” Souline gasps, still laughing, “I would never, CC.”
Her fingers reach out to pinch his cheeks together, cooing.
Cameron stares over at her hard, for as long as he could until he turns back to the road, dodging his face from her hold, quietly wondering if he’s gonna make it.
His stomach was at an easy five but he wasn’t trying to discuss bowel movements right now.
“Do you want me to drive?” Souline offers.
“Did you poison my ass?”
“For an athlete, I thought you would be used to cleanses by now. You said you wanted a juice? So I picked just like you asked.”
“Couldn’t have selected one to boost my glow or help my muscles after back to back workouts?”
Souline knows exactly what other workout he was referring to.
She beams at him, “That’s what mine is.”
Cameron sucks his teeth as his stomach flips again when he fails to avoid a bump in the road, “Foul as hell. So we at war now?”
“No.” Souline rubs at his thigh in hopes of comforting him and making him see she wouldn’t be that petty after everything that went on today, “We’re on vacation.”
She sits back against the passenger chair, her thumb rubbing over Cameron’s knee cap as he caresses his own set jaw.
Her drink sits beside his, between them, a sigh leaving her as the wind whips all around them and inside the car.
“…appreciate the bag tho.”
He meets her stare, humor in her’s now as her hair floats all around her.
“You’re lucky we’re so locked in…otherwise we’d be beefing for the rest of our stay, that it might start some more rumors in the headlines.” Cameron tells her, she laughs moving to smack a glittery kiss against his cheek.
If someone had told you six months ago that you’d be dating Teddy, you would’ve laughed in their face.
For months he had been on your trail, finding reasons to text you, call you, and always finding more reasons to be wherever you happened to be.
You had done your best to keep your distance.
Teddy had a way of throwing you off your axis. One text from him could ruin your concentration for the rest of the day. One phone call could have you smiling when you knew better.
That was exactly why you tried so hard not to get involved.
Then one night, he stopped trying. There was no flirting and no attempts to convince you to give him a chance. Just an honest conversation that lasted until the early hours of the morning.
His laugh, the way he listened, and seeing a side of him you’d never paid much attention to before, you realized Teddy wasn’t nearly the person you’d convinced yourself he was.
Two months later, he asked you to be his girlfriend.
Saying yes had been the easiest decision you’d ever made.
-
You were stretched out across his couch, takeout containers scattered across the coffee table while watching whatever Teddy had put on the TV.
One of your legs was tangled with his, your sock-covered foot wedged between the cushions while Teddy occupied more space than one person should’ve been allowed to.
His arm rested across the back of the couch behind you, brushing against your shoulder whenever he reached for another fry.
A disturbing scene flashed across the TV.
You made a face. “Teddy, what even is this?” Reaching for your drink, you glanced between the screen and your boyfriend.
Teddy looked at you like you’d just insulted him. “This is my show.” He gestured towards the TV.
You looked at the screen and then back at him. “It’s bullshit.”
Teddy scoffed. “It’s better than that Bridgerton mess you keep trying to force me to watch.”
Your eyebrows shot up. “Bridgerton is amazing.”
“It’s people staring at each other for eight episodes.”
“And this is what?” You pointed at the TV. “Somebody getting dismembered every fifteen minutes?
“It has a plot.”
“So does Bridgerton.”
“It does not.”
You smacked his chest. “Teddy stop.”
He laughed. “You don’t have to get violent just because I don’t like Bridgerton.”
“I am not violent.”
“You just hit me.” Teddy pointed to his chest.
You scoff. “It was barely a tap.”
Teddy grabbed your wrist and a smile pulled at your lips. “Teddyyy…” you whine.
“What?” His tone letting you know that he’s about to annoy you on purpose.
You laughed as he tugged you towards him. “Teddy.” you say his name trying to sound serious.
“What?” he repeated.
You tried to resist him but he pulls you into his lap, his arm wrapping around your waist while yours settled around his neck.
You brushed your nose against his.
A smile tugged at Teddy’s mouth. “Mmm.” The sound vibrating off his chest.
His fingers drifted behind your ear. “You know…”
You narrowed your eyes. “I know what?”
Teddy looked at you before his eyes dropped to your lips. “I could watch you instead.”
Your hand comes up to rub through his hair as your eyes flick over his face. “You’d get bored.”
He shook his head fingertips brushing along the shell of your ear. “There’s nothing boring about you.” Then - SMACK! Right on your ass.
“Ouch!” You jerked back, rubbing the spot.
“That’s for hitting me.”
You scrunched your face. “I didn’t even hit you that hard.”
That only made Teddy laugh. Rolling your eyes, you grabbed a pillow and launched it hitting him square in the face.
You frowned, rubbing the spot again.
Teddy stopped laughing and sat up on the couch. “Now I feel bad.”
“You should.”
“You want me to make it feel better?” The teasing pout on his face made you roll your eyes again.
You took a step back as Teddy pushed himself off the couch. “Don’t touch me actually.”
“Baby.”
“No.”
“Come on.”
Teddy reached for you anyway. A laugh slipped from your lips as he caught your wrist again, pulling you flush against him. Before you could complain, he tipped your chin up and kissed you.
The kiss stole the rest of your argument before it ever had a chance to leave your mouth.
When he finally pulled away, he had one eyebrow raised looking down at you with a smirk. “So,” he said, brushing his thumb against your waist. “How can I make it up to you?”
You pretended to think about it. “Hmm.”
Teddy waited.
“You can start by taking me on a proper date.”
The confidence on Teddy’s face vanished. “What?”
You bit down a smile. “A proper date.”
He frowned. “We’ve been on dates.”
“No, we’ve hung out.”
His face twisted. “The beach.”
“Your friends were there.”
“The movies.”
“We got there late and spent most of the time complaining because we missed half of the movie.”
“It still counts.”
You laughed. “It doesn’t.”
Teddy crossed his arms. “It absolutely does.”
“It absolutely doesn’t.”
He shook his head. “You’re unbelievable.”
You gasped. “Me?”
“Yes, you.”
You pressed your lips together trying not to laugh again. “Teddy, I’m not saying you’re a bad boyfriend.”
“Good.”
“Relax.”
“I’m relaxed.”
“You look offended.”
“I am offended.”
You roll your eyes laughing softly. “I just said we’ve never been on a proper date.”
“Which is crazy to say.”
“It isn’t.”
“It is.”
“Oh gosh.”
“What?”
“Look at us arguing over something that doesn’t even matter.” You saying holding your hands out and then crossing them over your chest.
His eyes narrowed. “It matters now.”
The look on his face told you he was taking this too seriously. “You think I can’t take you on a proper date?”
“Oh my God.”
“Answer the question.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“But you’re thinking it.”
“I am not.”
“You’re definitely thinking it.”
“Teddy.”
“I’m so for real right now.”
You groaned.
That only seemed to encourage him.
A slow grin spread across his face. “Bet.”
Your stomach dropped. That smile never meant anything good.“No.”
“Oh, absolutely.”
“Please.”
“You wanna proper date?” His grin widened. “I’ll give you the perfect date.”
-
Teddy started to act strange.
He’ll end calls suspiciously fast whenever you asked him what he was doing. Took longer to respond to your text messages. And he’ll abruptly change the topic in conversations when you got too close to what he was trying to hide.
Not that he was doing a very good job of hiding it.
You caught him staring at his phone more times than you could count. Every time you asked what was wrong, he’d lock the screen and tell you to mind your business.
Watching him pretend not to be stressed put the cherry on top because he was terrible at it.
By wednesday, he’s turned down dinner because he was “busy.”
Teddy.
Busy?.
You had to refrain from laughing in his face.
When Thursday came, you gave up trying to get information out of him altogether. Whatever he was planning, he clearly wasnt going to tell you.
Which was why you weren’t surprised when he called you later that day.
“What?” you answered.
The offended noise he made - made you smile.
“Hello to you to.”
“Sorry. Hi.”
“That’s better.”
You rolled your eyes. “What’s up.”
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
You smiled. “For what?”
“The date.”
“Oh, we’re still doing that?”
“Of course we’re still doing that.”
The confidence in his voice made you smile wider. “Okay.”
“Be ready at seven.”
“Yes, sir.”
You can hear the smirk in his voice. “Good night baby.”
You squeal quietly at the pet name. “Good night Teddy.”
You found yourself smiling at the phone when the called ended. Whatever Teddy had planned, had you wondering how much effort he put into it. He was serous about it and you found that incredibly endearing.
-
At exactly seven o’clock, a knock sounded at your door. A smile pulled at your lips as you smooth your hands down your dress, making your way across the the apartment.
When you opened the door, Teddy looked as if he had forgot whatever he was about to say. His eyes slowly traveled from your heels to your face.
You fought back a smile.
His head shook slightly. “Sometimes I really can’t believe you’re my girlfriend.”
Heat rushed to your cheeks.
Teddy grabbed your hand and spun you around. The skirt of your dress moved with you as you completed a full turn. When you faced him again, the look on his face made your stomach flutter.
“You look beautiful.” he said softly. Gosh he was making you so giddy and shy.
You stepped forward and kissed him quickly.
Then you took a step back to look him over. Your eyes slowly dragged over the fitted black button-up, the watch on his left wrist and the confidence that sat on his shoulders.
He looked so good.
You licked your lips dragging your teeth on your bottom lip before releasing it.
Teddy stepped closer. “Tread carefully. His hand snaked around your waist. “You keep looking at me like that and we’re not making it to dinner.”
“Is that a threat?” you ask, batting your eyes at him.
His grip tightened at your waist as he leaned in until your nose brushed with his. “You’ll find out if you keep running your mouth.”
Your eyes flick over his face, taking in his expression. Not wanting to push further, you poke his nose wiggling out of his grip. “Fine. I’ll behave.”
Teddy straightened, holding his hand out to you. “Good. We have reservations.”
You grabbed it and he led you to the passenger side of his car. When he opened the door, a huge bouquet of red roses sat in the seat.
“Oh my gosh!” you gasp.
Teddy already has that stupid smile plastered on his face. “Do you like them?”
You carefully lifted the bouquet into your arms. “I love them.”
The look on his face made it obvious he’d been hoping you’d say exactly that. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead. The gesture was so sweet it made your chest ache.
Once you settled into the car, Teddy walked around to the driver’s side and climbed in.
You glanced at him. “Where are we going?”
He shook his head. “I want you to turn your brain off tonight. Then reached over and squeezed your hand. “I got it, baby.”
You blink at him before nodding. “I can do that.”
Teddy gave you a wink. “That’s my girl.”
-
He wanted you to turn your brain off for the night and you did exactly that. You sat back in your seat, flowers resting in your lap while music played softly through the speakers.
Every now and then, your fingers would brush Teddy’s as his hand rested on the center console. A small squeeze from his hand would follow.
When he pulled into the restaurant parking lot, the smug look on his face had only gotten worse.
You glanced up at the building before looking back at him. You couldn’t help but smile. “Look at youuu” you beamed.
He only grinned.
Together, hand in hand the two of you made your way inside.
The hostess greeted you with a polite smile. “Good evening.”
“Good evening.” Teddy gave a polite smile back. “Reservation for two, under the name Teddy.”
The hostess nodded and began typing. A few seconds passed, then a few more. The smile on Teddy face slowly faded.
The hostess frowned at the screen, then typed again and again. “I’m sorry,” she said. “What’s the name?”
“Teddy.”
She entered it once more before looking up. “I’m sorry, sir. I don’t see a reservation under that name.”
A small crease formed between Teddy’s brows. “That can’t be right.”
You watched him pull his phone from his pocket, scroll for a few and then turned the screen toward her.
“I booked it a week ago.”
The hostess glanced at the confirmation email before looking back at her computer. “I understand, sir. Let me check again.”
Teddy nodded. It was stiff, it told you that he was actively trying to keep it together.
The hostess typed again and then sighed. “I’m sorry. I still don’t see it.”
You slowly looked over at Teddy, his jaw tightened.
“Babe-“
“I have the confirmation.” His eyes never left the hostess.
“I understand sir.”
“Look.” Teddy demanded pointing to his phone. “It’s right here.” he emphasized.
You ball your lips together.
The hostess gave him a sympathetic look. “The next available table is in about an hour and a half.”
You physically watched Teddy’s soul leave his body.
You grab his hand and he finally looked at you. The frustration in his face made you feel bad.
“It’s okay.” you reassured softly.
“I planned this.”
“I know.” you squeezed his hand.
Teddy exhaled heavily and shoved his phone back into his pocket. “Fine.” He pointed to the door. “Plan B.”
-
As soon as the two of you got back into the car, he plugged a new address into the GPS.
You glanced at the screen. “What’s Plan B?
A reluctant smile pulled at his mouth. “There’s an outdoor movie showing by the water, there playing one of those old movies you like.”
You look over at him. “Okay, that’s kind of cute.”
He smirked keeping his eyes on the rode. “I figured we’d walk around for a bit, watch the movie, maybe get dessert after.”
Warmth spread through you because of the effort behind the plans. Every detail sounded like something you’d enjoy and that he actually been paying attention. You turn your attention to the window before he can catch you smiling to yourself like an idiot.
Unfortunately, the weather had other plans.
Neither of you paid attention to it at first. A few raindrops tapped against the windshield before disappearing beneath the sweep of the wipers. Then more followed. And more after that. Within minutes, the rain had picked up considerably, turning the city lights outside into blurry streaks of color against the glass.
You glanced over at him. His eyes remained fixed on the road, but the tightening of his jaw gave it away. It was the same look he’d worn back at the restaurant when the reservation had fallen through. The same look that appeared whenever things weren’t going according to plan.
“You have got to be kidding me.”
You looked through the windshield before offering him a small smile. “Maybe it’ll slow down by the time we get there.”
Almost as if the universe had been listening, the rain came down even harder. You pulled out your phone to check the weather app only for it to show that it will be raining for the rest of the night.
Your brows pull together as you lock your phone and look over at him.
He hadn’t said another word.
His head rested against the headrest, one hand still on the steering wheel while the other rubbed slowly over his jaw before dragging down his face with a long, defeated sigh. He gave a small shake of his head and stared blankly through the windshield.
The sight was so pitiful you couldn’t help the quiet snicker that passed your lips.
He looked over. “Not funny.”
That made you laugh harder.
Teddy tried so hard to stay serious but a hesitant smile tugged at the corner of his mouth before he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Fuck.”
You reached across the center console and gently rubbed the back of his neck with your fingertips and he leans into your touch. The frustration hadn’t disappeared, but you could feel some of the tension leave his shoulders.
“So…” you said softly. “Where to now?”
Thump.
The car lurches forward.
Thump. Again
He eased the car onto the shoulder, the rain continued beating against the car as he shifted it into park.
Teddy leaned back in his seat, let out a disbelieving laugh, and slowly shook his head. “I think we got a flat.”
You turned toward him opening your mouth to say something, but he was out of the car before you could get a word in.
“What is he doing?” you whisper to yourself.
You leaned toward the driver’s side window just in time to see him stop beside the tire. Rain poured over him as he stood there with his hands on his hips, staring at it like he was hoping it’d magically fix itself.
A laugh bubbled in your chest.
Rolling the window down, you called out, “Get back in the car before you catch a cold!”
He doesn’t move.
“Come on. We’ll figure something out.”
Teddy was still standing there like it wasn’t pouring down raining.
“Please,” you laughed. “You’re getting both of us wet.”
Finally he climbed back in the car and you immediately turned on the heater. Water dripped from his hair onto his shirt while he stared blankly ahead.
“The devil is working overtime tonight.” Teddy sound defeated.
You burst into laughter hauling over, you couldn’t help yourself. “This is your karma,” you managed between laughs. “You shouldn’t have smacked my ass that hard earlier in the week.”
Teddy was not laughing. And that smile he attempted didn’t reach his eyes. Seeing that, your laughed slowed.
You reached over, brushing the wet hair away from his forehead before letting your fingers trail to the back of his neck.
“Aww come on..” you say softly. “It’s okay.”
He shook his head. “No, it’s not. I put my time and effort into planning this date.”
You nodded with a smile. “And that hasn’t gone unnoticed, I appreciate everything that you do for me.” you reassured.
His eyes finally met yours.
“I noticed everything.” Your thumb brushed against his cheek. “The flowers. The restaurant. The movie. Dessert afterward.” You smiled. “You paid attention to everything I like.”
Teddy smiled.
A real one.
You slipped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. When you pulled back, you cupped his face and pressed three quick kisses against his lips.
He leaned in and pressed his forehead to yours. “I’m so lucky to have you.”
You look up at him, eyes finding his. “I think I’m the lucky one.” Your fingers wandered through his hair while his hand rested against your cheek.
He leaned in again, pressing his lips to yours. The kiss was slow, his hand cradling your face while your fingers stayed tangled in his hair. When you finally pulled away, your foreheads found each other again.
Your stomach growled.
Teddy smirked. “Is my girl hungry?”
You covered your face. “Don’t judge me.”
“I would never.”
His eyes wandered toward the passenger window, you turn your head to see what caught his attention. Across the street, glowing through the rain, sat an In-N-Out.
Your eyes lit up. “The night’s not over.” You kicked off your heels and reached for the door handle. “Last one there buys dinner.”
“You’ll get soaked!”
You shrug as you threw the door open and sprinted into the rain. You then hear another car door slam shut and footsteps splashed through the puddles as Teddy took off after you.
-
When the two of you made it inside In-N-Out, you both were soaked. Your hair was damp, Teddys hair was dripping, looking nothing like what you planned to hours ago.
You didn’t care, you were busy devouring your burger. Teddy couldn’t help but smile as he watched you happily take another bite.
You caught him staring and you rolled your eyes before taking another bite. His hand reached over with a napkin, gently wiping a spot of sauce from the corner of your mouth.
“Thanks,” you mumbled around your food before reaching for your drink.
Once you’d both finished eating, he slid an arm around your shoulders and pulled you against his side.
“This has probably been the worst date you’ve ever been on.”
You huff a laugh. “Trust me.” You looked up at him. “I’ve had worse.”
His eyebrows lifts and your hand found his. “This was my perfect date.”
The doubt in his face softened. “Are you happy?” Teddy asked quietly.
“I’m always happy with you.” Your fingers brushed gently along his face, and before you knew it, he’d pulled you into another hug, burying his face against your neck.
You squealed through your laughter as he pressed a few quick kisses against your skin. “Okay,” you laughed, trying to push him away. “Okay!”
He finally leaned back, smiling wider than you’d seen all night.“That’s how you make me feel.” You couldn’t help but laugh with him.
When the laughter faded, you settled comfortably against his side once more. Outside, the rain continued to fall, the sound pattering softly against the windows while your fingers absentmindedly played with his.
Your eyes drifted across the street until they landed on his car.“I think we should call a tow truck.”
He followed your gaze before letting out a quiet laugh.
“…Yeah.”
He shook his head.
“I think we should.”

“You trust me, right?”
Cheeks beginning to hurt at this point in the day, a small smile spread across your face at the sound of his voice from behind. His big arms were wrapped around your mid-section as he guided you through the front door toward the truck. He had preemptively placed a blindfold over your eyes, ensuring you wouldn’t be able to get a peek of the evening surprise. Keeping your head pressed against his chest, you grasped his forearms. Mumbling, “yes”, in anticipation, you couldn’t tame your excitement. Ledger had been pretty strict thus far in making sure you’d be surprised by all of his antics today, but this one was the most intriguing.
Once you reached the truck he turned you around, snaking his hands behind your thighs before seamlessly lifting you up. Instinctively wrapping your legs around his waist, you heard him open the passenger door. He transferred your body to the seat, making sure you were secure. You reluctantly detached, inhaling the lingering scent of his cologne. Feeling heat creep up your neck, you muttered, “thank you”, smiling when he kissed your temple in response.
The entire ride you tried relying on your senses to guess where he was taking you. Nearing the location, he glanced over with a smirk. “Haven’t figured it out yet huh?!” Holding in your laugh, you shook your head no.
“How much longer?” Shortly after saying that, Ledger made a right turn.
“Not much longer, we’re here”. Feeling him stop the truck, you eagerly reached for the blindfold. He caught your wrist before you could remove it, chuckling “wait a second baby, give me a chance to make sure everything is set”. Placing your hand in your lap, you waited, hearing him get out. Ledger rounded the vehicle, heading toward the projector screen to double check it was connected properly. There was an unoccupied, clear wooded area off one of the main pathways. Unbeknownst to you, he had come to the spot a few times over the course of the week as soon as he found it. The first two times were to check if anyone frequented the area while the third was used as preparation.
Turning around to lay everything out on the bed of his truck, he did one more once-over before reaching the passenger side. Hearing the click of the door, you smile, extending your arm expectantly. Leaning in, he draped it across his shoulder, grabbing your thighs to carry you again. Feeling gravel and dirt under your feet when he set you down, it dawned on you why he said dress comfortably. After guiding your steps toward the screen, Ledger halted, placing you right in front of it. “Ready baby?” You keenly rub along his forearm, giving him a fervent nod in response. As soon as you did, he untied the blindfold, pulling it off your face.
He shifted, moving next to you in order to see the way your face lit up. You turned around, smile widening as you took in the layout. “This is so cute, I love it!” There were several large, fluffy, blankets layered in the bed of the truck with enough pillows and snacks to provide for more than two people.
Hearing Ledger chime out, “We can watch whatever you want but I have your favorite movies cued up just in case”, you drew your attention towards him. Reaching out to grasp onto his arms, you jumped, winding your legs around his body. Showering his face with pecks, heat swirled in your core when he connected your lips, squeezing the underside of your thighs. Holding you securely in his embrace, he started walking to set you down on the tailgate. Reluctantly parting for air, your eyes scanned his figure, admiring the way he filled out his Henley.
The sentiment you held was clear through your tone when expressing, “I love you”.
He gazed at you through blown pupils, smoothing his hands down each calf before slipping your shoes off, placing them in the corner of the truck. “I love you more”. Completing the action with a warm smile, he tipped your chin up, pressing another kiss on your mouth, then cheek. “Go ahead and get comfortable, I’m right behind you, ok?”
You nod, turning to crawl into place. By the time you found yourself cozy under the covers, Ledger planted himself next to you. Throwing your legs into his lap, he started massaging your thighs, patiently waiting for you to choose the movie. Looking towards the screen once you made your choice, your eyes skimmed the outline. You encircled your hands around his arm, voicing, “the lights are a nice touch”. Peering over at him with a fond expression, you questioned, “when did you set this up?”
“Few days ago. I found this clearing like a week ago, realized no one really seems aware of it and at that point decided to make good use of it”.
“So…”, you paused, dropping your gaze as you squeezed his bicep. “What I’m hearing is we’ll be uninterrupted…?”
Nodding his head, “just us out here”, slipped out as Ledger cupped your jaw, guiding you in for a kiss. “You can be patient for me though, can’t you baby?” He grazed your cheek when you nodded, dragging his hand up your thigh a bit. In anticipation, arousal began furling in your stomach from his touch. After his gaze lingered on your lips, he slid his arm around your waist, keeping you nestled against his shoulder.
As the movie started slowly progressing, the breeze shifted, nipping at your arms. Pulling on the covers in an attempt to gain warmth, you were coming to the realization wearing a thin, long sleeve ribbed V-neck wasn’t ideal. Taking notice, Ledger briefly separated to slide his flannel off, draping it over your shoulders. You slip your arms through, hugging the material to your body. Eyes drifting down, he caught a glimpse of your cleavage peeking through as a few of your buttons snapped open in the process. He clenched his jaw, the sight sending a spark of need down his abdomen. Seeing you in his clothing was the quickest way to get his heart racing. “Better?”
The heady scent of his cologne and natural aroma wafting into your space filled your senses along with the gruff edge in his voice. Involuntarily pressing your thighs together, you reattach your hands to his forearm laid across your legs to feel the bulk of his muscles. “Much better, thank you”.
He laced your fingers, bringing your palm towards his lips to press a kiss in the center. “Come here”.
Happily following his instruction, you moved over to straddle his lap. He connected your lips, falling into a slow rhythm as he gripped your ass. Shortly after, he found himself inching his hands up, sliding in between your leggings and underwear to cup you close. You moan, grasping his arms as he ground you against his bulge. Ledger gave your bottom lip a gentle tug before settling a hand on your throat, deepening the kiss. The delicate throb in your core grew intense, morphing into an uncomfortable ache the longer you were left empty. Trailing his grip up to your jaw now, he parted, tipping your head to the side to plant soft pecks on your cheek. You dropped your hand to his abdomen, the contrast in his touch sending a twinge of arousal through your navel.
Within earshot now, he uttered, “You need daddy to warm you up? Is that it…?”
Immediately giving him a nod, you squeeze his arm, dipping your other hand under his shirt to feel his muscles. “Please”. Twitching at your need, Ledger instructed you to lay flat on your stomach. Getting comfortable underneath the covers again, you shift your head to the side, pressing your cheek into the plush of the blanket. You crossed your legs, excitement coursing through your veins when you hear his belt unbuckling. He placed a pillow below your stomach, elevating your hips a bit before tugging your leggings down to your knees. With his body pressed against you now, he glided his dick up and down through your folds, gathering more arousal. Spreading each globe of flesh to watch as he slipped inside inch by inch, Ledger reveled in the feeling, leaning in to hover directly above you.
The weight of his body melding against your own paired with the pressure that always came when he stretched you out, you grip the blanket. Uncrossing your legs to grant him deeper access, you attempted to move your hips back against him, a moan tumbling out once he bottomed out. He looped his arm underneath yours, moving his hand up to hold your jaw in place while grasping your other wrist twirled in the cover. Blinking slowly, you hum a steady faint sound of pleasure as his heavy length nestled deep inside you. Waiting patiently for more, you savored the familiar sensation. Voice smooth and clear on the cusp of your ear, Ledger guided, “Deep breath in”.
This had become routine at this point. Body fully relaxing from hearing that, you proceeded to inhale deeply, holding the breath until you heard his instruction. Ledger withdrew, leaving just the tip inside. “Push it out baby”. As soon as you exhaled, he thrusted in one swift motion, nudging your g spot in the process. Pulsing around his dick, you whimpered, sprawling your hand out while another ripple of arousal curled in your stomach. “Do it again”.
He leaned in, lapping his tongue across the sensitive spot under your ear before sucking and nipping, leaving a love bite. Repeating the action, you released a shaky breath after he plunged back in. Ledger emitted a low groan, twitching against your walls at the increase of fluid. Detaching his mouth to whisper, “don’t stop doing that, understand?”, you were only given a moment to respond.
Mumbling, “I w- won’t, I underst—”, you weren’t able to finish your sentence before he began moving, thrusting in and out at a fast pace. Keeping a firm hold on your wrist, he carefully twisted your arm around, placing it behind your back above the crest of your ass. Slowly beginning to lose your composure, the volume of your pleas heightened along with the sensation. Rasping, “oh fuck!”, you tried to continue breathing in sync with his strokes, vision growing hazy.
Abdomen flexing, Ledger let out a grunt each time he sunk back in. “Love feeling you drench my dick baby”. He paused, tilting your jaw up to get closer to your ear, “keep going. Show me how good it feels”. A choked moan spilling past your lips now, you frantically bring your hand up to cling onto his arm.
“Always feel s-so good, can’t help it— f-fuck”. The wet squelching sound was barely able to stay muted with every intoxicating roll of his hips meeting your ass. Starting to plead, “Harder, shit—", the knot in your stomach spiraled. Rocking your hips back to meet him mid thrust, you opened your fist lying flat against your lower back. Your fingers sprawling out to feel his body in an attempt to draw him deeper, you moan, “harder daddy, I’m c-close”.
Removing his grip from your wrist now, Ledger slotted his fingers in between yours, pressing your palm against the covers again. “You get vocal when I fuck you like this baby, isn’t that right?”. He then shifted his hand up your jaw, covering your mouth before pounding into you vigorously. Brows furrowing at the sheer intensity, you couldn’t do anything but listen and drop moan after moan from his words. “Get real wet too, don’t you?” Quickly becoming undone, you had long forgotten you were supposed to be controlling your breath as the pattern grew scattered. Hoarsely adding, “don’t need anyone else hearing how well you take this dick”, he was close too, hips stuttering under your rhythmic tremors gripping his length tighter.
Body jolting with the force of his hips, your thighs trembled underneath the weight of his body. Your eyes began rolling back, the magnitude of his build looming over you making you lose your balance. “That’s it baby, I’ve got you”. Nails digging into his arm, you braced yourself as the heat in your core started to build, making your brain feel fuzzy. “Just like that. Cum all over me”. His words were the final push.
The last thing you heard was Ledgers groan before your eyes snapped shut. Your orgasm sent out intense bursts of pleasure until your entire body shook. An uncontrollable moan resonated against his hand while he throbbed. Swelling inside as you clamped around his dick consecutively, he dropped his head to your neck, trying to contain his own volume. Burying deep inside you, his climax hit, racking his abdomen in a rush. You claw at his bicep, another wave seeping into your core, trickling out of you with his cum. It took you several minutes to return to an even breath pattern, still faintly fluttering in the after effects.
Ledger slid his large hand off your face, laying multiple pecks onto your cheek. Slowly blinking your eyes open now, the soft smile spreading over your face was immediate. The brush of his facial hair tickling your skin caused an airy laugh to escape. He gave your hand a light squeeze, rubbing his thumb over your skin. Gradually sliding out of your entrance, he grabbed the wipes he brought to clean you up. After pulling your leggings back up and fixing himself, he adjusted you onto your back. “Going to run a warm bath, give you a massage, and take care of you some more when we get home”.
Trailing your fingers past his beard to ghost over his lips, you peered up at him through your lashes, giving him a spacey smile. “I get to be loud…?”.
Looking at you with hooded eyes, that held a shred of humor in them now, he chuckled. Coming down to place a kiss on the button of your nose before leaving one on your lips, he murmured, “As loud as you want”, with a smile spreading across his face.

———————————————————————
The loud sound from the subwoofers downstairs was literally vibrating the floorboards of Cameron’s room, but up here, the vibe was completely different. The air was thick, hazy, and smelled heavily of exotic gas and vanilla body spray.
You were sitting crisscrossed on the edge of his mattress, dressed in an oversized graphic tee that hung off one of your shoulders and a pair of matching short shorts. Your hair was laid, a sharp contrast to the relaxed fit, and your nails short and french, and perfectly sculpted, tapped a rhythmic beat against the glass tray resting in your lap. You flicked your lighter, the small flame illuminating the sharp contour of your jawline and the gloss on your lips, before you took a slow, deliberate pull from your freshly rolled blunt.
Cameron was leaning against his dresser, arms crossed over his chest, just watching you. He had a look on his face that he usually reserved for something he couldn't quite figure out.
Everybody on campus knew Cameron Cade was a hoe. It wasn’t a secret, and he damn sure didn’t try to hide it. He was fine, athletes and regular students alike knew it, and he used it to his full advantage. He moved from one girl to the next without a single care in the world, leaving a trail of broken hearts and delusional hopes in his wake.
Except with you.
When the two of you first established this... whatever it was three months ago, you had laid the ground rules down so clear he could’ve seen his reflection in them. You weren't looking for a boyfriend, you didn’t do the whole checking-up-on-me thing, and you sure as hell weren’t about to be one of the girls crying in the group chat over his text habits. It was supposed to be a simple arrangement. Good vibes, better physical connection, and absolutely zero strings attached.
"You gonna share that or just hog the whole thing?" Cameron asked, his voice low. His eyes did a slow, deliberate sweep down your body, stopping at the way your shorts hugged your thighs before traveling back up to your face. He licked his lips, that signature crooked smirk spreading across his face.
You blew a thick cloud of smoke toward the ceiling, watching it disperse into the dim lighting of the room before you finally looked at him. Your eyes were slightly heavy, but the look in them was as sharp and confident as ever.
"You got hands, Cade. Come get it," you replied, your tone smooth and entirely unbothered.
Cameron chuckled, shaking his head as he walked over to the bed. He didn’t just take the blunt from your fingers; he sat down right next to you, his large frame immediately shifting the mattress. He took a hit, keeping his eyes locked on yours the entire time. The heat radiating off his body was familiar, a warmth you’d grown accustomed to over the last few weeks, but tonight, something felt just a little bit different. The air felt heavier, and it had nothing to do with the smoke.
"You look good tonight," Cameron said, handing the blunt back to you. His fingers brushed against yours, lingering just a second longer than necessary.
"I look good every night," you corrected easily, taking another pull. "Don't act surprised."
"I ain't surprised. Just stating facts." He leaned back on his elbows, stretching his long legs out across the bed. "You went crazy at the game today, by the way. Saw you from the sidelines."
You couldn't help the small, knowing smile that crept onto your face. You knew exactly how you looked out there—the posture, the rhythm, the sheer presence you commanded every time you stepped into the light. You had that effortless, undeniable main-character energy, and Cameron was far from the only one who noticed. But hearing it come out of his mouth hit a little different, even if you’d never admit it out loud.
"Please. I always give exactly what needs to be given," you said, flicking the ash into the tray. "You weren't doing too bad yourself out there. Saw you make that run in the third quarter."
"Yeah? You was watching me?" He leaned in a little closer, a cocky grin spreading across his face.
"The whole stadium was watching, Cameron. Don't flatter yourself." You rolled your eyes, but the playful curve of your lips gave you away.
"Nah, I'm asking if you was watching," he pressed, his voice dropping an octave. He reached out, his thumb gently tracing the smooth skin of your bare ankle, his touch warm and grounded.
You didn't pull away. Instead, you took one last drag, extinguished the rest of the blunt in the tray, and set it on the nightstand. You turned your full attention to him, crawling backward until your back hit the headboard, matching his energy with an amused, unbothered stare.
"I see you, Cade. I always see you. But remember what we talked about," you reminded him softly, your voice carrying a playful but firm warning. "Don't go getting getting ahead of yourself."
"Who getting ahead of themselves?" Cameron scoffed, though he didn't move his hand from your leg. His palm slid up to your calf, the heat of his skin seeping through. "I know the vibes. We chilling. We having fun."
"Good," you said, leaning your head back against the wall, letting your eyes flutter shut for a brief moment as the high fully settled into your system. "Because the moment this stops being fun is the moment I drop you. And we both know you’d miss this too much."
Cameron didn't answer right away. He just looked at you, taking in the effortless way you commanded the space around you. You didn't chase him. You didn't text him asking who he was with. You didn't care about his reputation because you were entirely too secure in your own lane to care about what he did in his.
And for the first time in Cameron’s life, that security was starting to drive him absolutely insane.
The thing about Cameron’s reputation was that it was entirely earned. He liked attention, he liked women, and he liked the freedom of doing whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. But over the next few weeks, a shift started happening that he couldn't quite explain to his boys, let alone to himself.
It started with the small stuff.
Usually, when a girl left his room, Cameron was already thinking about his next move or looking forward to having his space back. But lately, every time you walked out his door, his room felt entirely too big and entirely too quiet. The lingering scent of your vanilla spray and the faint trace of whatever strain you had been smoking would stay trapped in his sheets, and instead of washing them like he usually did, he found himself leaving them be.
One Tuesday afternoon, he was sitting on the porch of the house he shared with a few teammates, scrolling through his phone.
"Yo, Cam," his boy Mike said, tossing a basketball from one hand to the other. "Some girls from the track team are throwing something small tonight. You pulling up? Lexi was asking about you."
A month ago, Cameron would’ve been the first one in the car. Lexi was bad, and she had been dropping hints for weeks. But today, the thought of getting dressed up, playing the game, and dealing with the small talk felt entirely exhausting.
"Nah, I'm good," Cameron said, not even looking up from his phone. He was currently staring at a video you had posted on your story an hour ago. You were in the mirror, your hair freshly done, wearing a tight two-piece set that showed off every single curve, looking like an absolute felony.
Mike stopped bouncing the ball, frowning at him. "What you mean you good? Since when you pass up on a function? Especially when Lexi involved?"
"I just ain't feeling it today, man. Got some film to watch anyway," Cameron lied smooth, locking his phone and sliding it into his pocket.
"Film? Since when you care about film on a Tuesday layout?" Mike laughed, shaking his head. "Man, you acting different. Don't tell me one of these girls finally got you locked down. Who you messing with anyway? That dancer girl?"
Cameron’s chest tightened slightly, a sudden wave of defensiveness hitting him that he wasn't prepared for. "Nobody got me locked down. I'm just chilling. Keep my name out of all that."
"Alright, alright, don't get defensive," Mike raised his hands in mock surrender, walking down the porch steps. "Just saying. You missing out."
Cameron watched him leave, pulling his phone back out. He opened your chat. It was dry. The last message was from him the night before, telling you to slide through. You had replied with a simple ‘can't tonight, busy',and that was it. No explanation, no reassurance, no promise for another night.
He gripped the phone a little tighter, a foreign feeling blooming in his chest. It felt a lot like frustration, mixed with a heavy dose of longing. He wasn't used to waiting on anybody. He wasn't used to being the one sitting around, wondering what someone else was doing.
He stood up, pacing the length of the porch before he finally dialed your number.
It rang three times before you picked up.
"What's up, Cade?" your voice came through the line, sounding slightly out of breath but entirely calm. He could hear music playing faintly in the background, along with the distinct sound of a lighter clicking.
"What you doing?" he asked, trying to keep his voice casual, leaning his shoulder against the brick wall of the porch.
"Just finished up a long practice. Getting ready to roll up and take a shower," you replied. "Why? You need something?"
"I'm tryna see you," he said bluntly, abandoning the casual act. "Slide through. I got some of that good gas you like. We can just chill."
There was a brief pause on the line, and Cameron actually found himself holding his breath.
"I told you I was tired, Cam," you said softly, though there was a hint of amusement in your voice. "And I got a paper due at midnight. I'm just tryna relax tonight by myself."
"I can help you relax," he pressed, his grip on the phone tightening. "Come on. Just for a little bit. I'll even come pick you up so you don't gotta drive."
A low, melodic chuckle came from your end, and Cameron felt his stomach do a weird, unfamiliar flip.
"Cameron, are you begging?" you teased, your voice dripping with sweet sarcasm. "Because it sounds an awful lot like you're begging right now."
"I don't beg," he muttered quickly, his ears burning. "I'm just saying. I'm trying to see you. That's all."
"I'll see you tomorrow, Cade. Go watch your film or whatever it is you do," you said, entirely unbothered by his urgency. "Get some sleep."
Before he could even argue, the line went dead. Cameron stared at his screen in disbelief. She really just hung up on him. On him.
He threw himself back into the porch chair, running a hand over his face. He was spiraling, and he knew it. This was supposed to be a game where he held all the cards, but somewhere along the line, you had entirely flipped the script without even trying.
By the time Friday rolled around, the campus was buzzing. There was a massive block party happening just off campus, and everybody who was anybody was going to be there.
Cameron had spent the entire week trying to clear his head, telling himself that he was just tripping. You were just a girl. A bad one, sure, but just a girl nonetheless. He was Cameron Cade. He didn't get caught up.
He pulled up to the party with his boys around eleven, the music loud enough to shake the pavement outside the house. The backyard was packed, filled with strobe lights, red cups, and the heavy scent of smoke and alcohol. The moment Cameron walked through the crowd, eyes were on him. Girls were waving, pulling at his jersey, trying to get his attention. He put on his signature smile, dapping up his teammates and nodding at the crowd, but his eyes were constantly scanning the backyard, looking for one specific person.
"Yo, Cam! Over here!"
He turned his head and saw Lexi standing near the DJ booth, looking incredible in a tight skirt and a cropped top. She smiled warmly at him, waving him over.
Cameron swallowed hard, forcing himself to walk over to her. This was what he was supposed to do. This was his element.
"Hey, stranger," Lexi said, leaning in to give him a hug that lasted just a little too long. She smelled like heavy perfume, but his brain instantly compared it to the vanilla and gas scent he had grown to prefer. "You've been ghosting me lately. What's up with that?"
"My bad, been locked in with practice," Cameron said smooth, his eyes darting over her shoulder for a split second.
"Mhm, sure," she smiled, stepping closer, her hand resting lightly on his forearm. "Well, you're here now. You trying to get a drink with me?"
"Yeah, let's—"
Cameron froze.
The crowd near the back steps of the house parted slightly, and there you were.
You looked absolutely breathtaking. You were wearing a pair of dark, distressed cargo pants that sat low on your hips, paired with a tiny, black halter top that showed off your toned stomach and the intricate tattoo running down your ribs. Your baby hairs were laid down to perfection, your lips were glossy, and you had a freshly lit blunt tucked between your index and middle finger, looking like an absolute queen amidst the chaos of the party.
You were laughing at something your friend said, your head tilted back, entirely unaware of the effect you were having on the room.
Cameron completely forgot that Lexi was standing right in front of him. His hand dropped to his side, his eyes locked onto you like a missile guidance system.
"Cameron? You listenin' to me?" Lexi asked, her brow furrowing as she noticed his sudden distraction. She turned around to see what he was looking at, her eyes landing on you.
Before Lexi could say anything else, you happened to look up. Your eyes scanned the crowd, effortlessly landing on Cameron. You didn't look shocked to see him with another girl. You didn't look mad. Instead, you just raised an eyebrow, a slow, knowing smirk spreading across your face. You took a slow drag from your blunt, blew the smoke out, and gave him a tiny, casual nod before turning right back to your friend, completely dismissing him.
That was it. That was the exact moment Cameron knew he was completely and utterly screwed.
The indifference in your eyes cut through his ego like a hot knife through butter. He didn't want you to be indifferent. He wanted you to be jealous. He wanted you to care. He wanted you to walk over here and mark your territory, but you were too damn secure to ever play a game that childish.
"Yo, Lexi, my bad. I'll be right back," Cameron muttered, not even waiting for her response as he stepped around her and started pushing his way through the crowded backyard.
His boys called out his name as he passed, but he ignored them completely. His eyes were glued to your black halter top as you moved toward the quieter side of the house, away from the loud speakers.
By the time he caught up to you, you were standing near the side fence, leaning your back against the wood, looking up at the stars while your friend went inside to use the bathroom.
"You just gonna look right past me like that?" Cameron asked, his voice rough as he stepped into your space, effectively blocking you from the rest of the party.
You didn't even flinch. You slowly lowered your blunt, looking up at him with those heavy, beautiful eyes. "I didn't look past you, Cade. I nodded. That's more than you usually get in public."
"You know what I mean," he said, stepping closer, his chest almost brushing against hers. "You saw me standing there with Lexi and didn't even blink."
"Why would I blink?" You let out a soft laugh, the sound sending a chill straight down his spine. "Lexi is a bad girl. You look good together. Go have fun."
"I don't want to have fun with no fucking Lexi," Cameron snapped, the words flying out of his mouth before he could stop them.
You paused, your eyes narrowing slightly as you studied his face. The playful, unbothered smirk dropped, replaced by a look of genuine curiosity. "Excuse me?"
Cameron breathed out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair. He looked around the side of the house, making sure they were completely alone before he stepped even closer, his hands coming up to rest on the wooden fence on either side of your head, pinning you in place.
"You heard me," he muttered, his eyes dropping to your lips before snapping back up to yours. "I don't want her. I've been trying to see you all week and you keep giving me the runaround."
"I told you, I've been busy—"
"Nah, don't do that," Cameron interrupted, his voice dropping to a low, intense whisper. "You ain't just busy. You're keeping your distance. Because you know exactly what this is doing to me."
You looked at him for a long moment, the smoke from your blunt drifting up between your faces. You didn't look scared or intimidated by his sudden intensity. If anything, you looked entirely in control.
"And what exactly is it doing to you, Cameron?" you asked softly, tilting your chin up just a fraction.
Cameron felt the breath leave his lungs. He was looking at a girl who didn't need him for a single thing. She didn't need his clout, she didn't need his validation, and she sure as hell didn't need his drama. She was a baddie all on her own, entirely self-sufficient, and that realization made him want her more than he had ever wanted anything in his entire life.
"It's driving me crazy," he admitted, his voice cracking slightly under the weight of the truth. "I'm sitting up in my room thinking about you when I'm supposed to be sleep. I'm passing up on functions because nobody else looks good to me anymore. I'm looking for you in the crowd every time I'm on the field. This wasn't the arrangement, and you know it."
You let out a slow breath, your expression softening just a tiny bit. You looked down at the blunt in your hand, flicking the ash onto the grass before looking back up at him.
"Cameron... we said no strings baby," you reminded him gently, your voice losing some of its sharp edge. "You're a hoe. Everybody knows it. I knew it when I got into this. I'm not trying to get hurt, and I'm damn sure not trying to change you."
"I don't want you to change me," he pressed, taking one of his hands off the fence and gently reaching out to cup your jaw. His thumb brushed over your smooth cheekbone, his touch incredibly tender for a guy with his reputation. "I'm telling you I'm already changed. I don't want nobody else. I haven't touched nobody else since the first night you came over."
You stared at him, your chest rising and falling heavily. For the first time since he had known you, he saw a flicker of vulnerability in your eyes. The unbothered baddie facade was still there, but underneath it, you were actually listening to him.
"You serious right now, Cade?" you whispered, searching his face for any sign of a game. "Because if you're playing with me right now, I swear to God—"
"I'm dead serious," he cut you off, his thumb stroking your cheek. "Look at me. Do I look like I'm playing?"
You looked into his eyes and saw nothing but raw, unfiltered sincerity. The cocky, arrogant athlete was gone, replaced by a boy who was entirely terrified of losing the one person who didn't care about his status.
You let out a shaky breath, a small, genuine smile finally breaking through. You raised your hand, taking a slow pull from your blunt before offering it to him.
"You're a fool, Cameron Cade," you murmured against his thumb.
"Yeah, I know," he whispered, a relieved smile finally breaking across his face. "But I'm your fool if you let me."
You took his hand off your jaw, wrapping your long, acrylic-clad fingers around his wrist, pulling his hand down but keeping your grip tight.
"Let's get out of here," you said, throwing the rest of the blunt onto the grass and stepping on it with your sneaker. "You're ruining my high with all these feelings."
Cameron laughed, a real, genuine sound that came straight from his chest. He immediately wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you tightly against his side as you both walked out from the side of the house, completely ignoring the confused looks from his friends and the other girls at the party.
He didn't care about the reputation anymore. He didn't care about the game. He had the baddest girl on campus right next to him, and for the first time in his life, he was entirely ready to lock it down.

The bass from the speaker in the corner of your living room was low, just a steady thrum that matched the heavy rhythm of the rain hitting your apartment window. Finals week was stripping the soul out of every student on campus, and being an RA on top of it meant you were tracking down stressed-out freshmen crying in the communal bathrooms at two in the morning. You needed a break, but business didn’t stop just because the semester was ending. You needed your coin however you can get it
A familiar knock hit your door—three quick taps, a pause, then one more.
You unlocked it, pulling it open to see Cameron leaning against the frame. He looked completely wiped out. His buzzed hair was a little damp from the drizzle outside, his broad shoulders were slouched under a heavy graphic hoodie, and the usual sharp, confident look in his eyes was replaced by pure exhaustion. The championship game was in three days, finals were kicking his ass, and everybody wanted a piece of him.
"Hey superstar," you said, stepping back to let him in. "You look regular-degular stressed, Cam. The pressure getting to you?"
Cameron let out a low, tired chuckle, walking past you into the warmth of your spot. He dropped his gym bag onto the floor and collapsed straight onto your couch, throwing his head back against the cushions. "Bruh, don’t even start with me tonight," he said, his deep voice carrying that slow, heavy drawl. "My head is spinning. Coach on my bumper about this game, professors talking about some damn term papers... I’m finna lose my mind if I don't catch a vibe right now. Tell me you got me."
"You know I always got you," you said, locking the door behind him. You walked over to the coffee table where your tray was already set up. Briefly, you bagged his usually order, a 3.5, but you always made sure to throw in an extra two grams just because. Grabbing a little pouch, you bagged his stuff, sealing it and handed it to him. He smiled and took it graciously, making sure to let your fingers touch subtly.
Afterwards,You grabbed the grinder and a fresh pack of papers. "But you know it’s premium tax during finals week, right? Everybody tryna cop."
Cameron opened one eye, a lazy, flirty smirk pulling at the corner of his lips. "Oh, so it’s like that? I’m just anybody now? I thought I was your favorite."
"You my favorite check, that’s for sure," you teased, sitting down on the opposite end of the couch, your legs tucked under you.
"Stop playing with me," he murmured, his eyes locking onto yours as you started breaking down the bud. "You know damn well I don't even go to nobody else. I come straight to you. For the vibes, mostly. The gas is just a bonus."
"Mmhm. Keep talking smooth, maybe I’ll give you the homie discount."
You caught him watching your hands work. There was a slow-burn energy between the two of you that had been building for months. You’d pass each other on the quad, exchange a look in the cafeteria, or he’d linger a little too long when he came by your apartment to re-up. It was a delicate dance—you being an RA meant you had to keep your business tight, and him being the star player meant he was always in the spotlight. But behind closed doors, all that extra noise just melted away.
You struck your lighter, the small flame illuminating the dim room, and took the first pull. The thick, herbal smoke filled your lungs, and you held it for a second before blowing a smooth cloud into the space between you. You handed the joint over to him.
Cameron took it, his fingers brushing against yours deliberately slow. He took a long, deep drag, closing his eyes as he held the smoke in, letting the tension finally drain out of his shoulders. When he exhaled, he let out a satisfied sigh, leaning closer to you. "Yeah. This exactly what I needed. You a lifesaver, for real."
"I try," you said, taking the joint back when he offered it. "You gotta stay right for the game anyway. Can't have our star player out there tripping over his own feet because his brain fried."
"Man, we finna take that ring, don't even worry about that," Cameron said, his voice dropping an octave, sounding softer, thicker as the high started to settle deep into his bones. He leaned his head back again, but his eyes stayed glued to your face. "But right now? I ain't thinking about no football. I'm just trying to look at you."
You felt a sudden warmth hit your chest, the weed making your skin feel tingly and sensitive. "Don’t start that shit. You high already, Cam. You start talking all reckless when you faded."
"I ain't being reckless, I'm being real," he muttered, turning his body on the couch so he was facing you fully. He reached out, his thumb gently catching a stray strand of your hair, tucking it behind your ear. His touch was warm, sending a quiet shiver down your spine. "You always holding it down for everybody else. Who holds it down for you?"
The shift in the room was instant. The playful banter faded into something heavy and electric. You took one last pull of the joint, stubbing it out in the ashtray, your heart starting to thud against your ribs. "I hold it down for myself," you whispered, your voice a little breathless.
"Youn gotta do that tonight," Cameron said.
The distance between you vanished. Cameron leaned in, his hand moving from your hair down to the back of your neck, his fingers tangling in your kitchen as he pulled you into a slow, deep kiss. He tasted like the sweet, smoky blunt paper and pure heat. It wasn't a rushed kiss; it was heavy, deliberate, and full of all the built-up tension from the last few months. You groaned softly into his mouth, your hands finding their way under his hoodie, feeling the hard, warm muscle of his back, Cam groaned and wrapped his fingers around your throat, lightly pressing on your pulse point.
When he pulled away, his breath was hot against your lips, his hooded eyes dark with a sudden, intense hunger. The high had hit him full force, turning his focus entirely onto you. "Man... you don't even know how long I been wanting to do that," he rasped, his hands sliding down to your waist, lifting you easily so you were sitting right on his lap.
You looked down at him, your head swimming from the weed and the sudden rush of adrenaline. "Cam..."
"Let me take care of you," he murmured, his lips traveling down your jawline, biting softly at the sweet spot right beneath your ear, making you gasp. His hands gripped your thighs, squeezing tightly. "I'm tryna get you right. For real."
Before you could even answer, Cameron shifted, guiding you flat onto your back on the soft cushions of the couch. He hovered over you for a fraction of a second, his gaze scanning your face, making sure you were entirely with him. The heat radiating off him was insane. He didn't waste any time, his hands sliding down to the hem of your shorts, tugging them down along with your panties, exposing your thighs to the cool air of the living room.
You arched your back slightly as he knelt between your legs, pushing them wide apart. The smoke in the room seemed to hover like a veil, making everything feel surreal, like a dream moving in slow motion.
When Cameron looked up at you from between your thighs, his eyes were completely blown out, heavy and dark with a raw, faded desire. "You so beautiful," he muttered, his voice thick and rough. "So damn pretty."
Then, he leaned down and buried his face between your legs.
The first touch of his warm, wet tongue against your sensitive skin made you let out a loud gasp, your fingers instantly flying to his hair, gripping his head. Cameron groaned against your flesh, the vibration sending a jolt straight through you. He knew exactly what he was doing. When he was high like this, all his senses were dialed in, completely locked onto your pleasure.
He used his long fingers to part you, his tongue tracing long, slow, agonizingly perfect strokes from the bottom up, soaking you completely. You threw your head back against the armrest, your hips rolling helplessly into his face.
"Oh my god, Cam," you breathed, your voice breaking.
He didn't slow down. He got deeper into it, his kisses becoming more urgent, his tongue swirling right over your sweet spot before flattening out to lick you clean with heavy, consuming strokes. He sucked you in softly, making your whole body stiffen, your toes curling as a wave of intense heat washed over you. The contrast of his rough, stubbled chin against your soft inner thighs was driving you crazy.
Cameron loved it down there. He drank you in like you were the only thing that could save him from the madness of his week, pressing his face closer, his breathing heavy and ragged against your skin. Every time you tried to pull away from the sheer intensity of it, his grip on your hips tightened, holding you steady, forcing you to take every single bit of what he was giving you.
"Cam, wait, I'm finna—" You choked out, your knuckles turning white as you pushed his head into you more.
"I got you," he growled against your wet skin, not stopping for even a second. He increased the pace, his tongue darting flickers of pure friction against your clit while his fingers slid inside you, finding your rhythm instantly.
The combination was too much. The high amplified every single touch, making the pleasure crash over you like a wave. You broke down, a loud, uninhibited moan tearing from your throat as your body began to shudder, your walls clamping down hard around his fingers. Cameron stayed right there through the whole thing, licking through your climax, holding you tight until the very last tremor passed through your legs.
The room fell quiet again, save for the sound of your ragged breathing and the steady rain outside.
Cameron slowly crawled his way back up your body, his chest heaving. He looked down at you, a soft, completely satisfied smirk on his face, his lips glistening. He leaned down, pressing a gentle, sweet kiss to your forehead, then your nose, before resting his forehead against yours.
"You good?" he whispered, his voice incredibly gentle.
You let out a weak laugh, your hands tracing the sides of his neck. "Good is an understatement, Cameron. You're a menace."
He chuckled, the low sound vibrating against your chest as he pulled you sideways, tucking you securely against his side. He pulled your discarded hoodie over your legs to keep you warm, his long arm wrapping around your waist, pulling you so close there was no space left between you.
"Told you," he murmured into your hair, his eyes drifting shut as the exhaustion and the high finally blended into pure comfort. "I always take care of my favorite supplier."
You smiled into his chest, closing your eyes, finally feeling the stress of the semester wash completely away as the rain poured down outside.
The rain didn’t stop by morning, and neither did the quiet shift that had taken over your apartment.
When you finally opened your eyes, the room was washed in a dull, grey light. Cameron was still asleep, his large frame taking up almost the entire couch, one of his heavy arms still securely locked around your waist. In the daylight, without the haze of the smoke or the immediate rush of adrenaline, he looked younger. The sharp, untouchable persona he carried around campus—the star athlete everyone wanted a piece of, was completely stripped away. Here, pressed against your side in the quiet, he was just a twenty-two-year-old dude trying to keep his head above water.
You tried to slide out from under his arm to check your phone, but the moment you moved, his grip tightened automatically, pulling you right back against his chest.
"Where you going?" he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep, his eyes still closed.
"I gotta check my email, Cam," you whispered, resting your hand against his collarbone. "I’m still an RA. If it’s a building update or somebody had an emergency last night, I need to know."
He let out a low grunt, finally cracking his eyes open. They were still a little heavy, but the look he gave you was clear, grounded, and intensely focused. "Man, let them dorms handle they damn self for one hour. You always looking out for everybody else. Stay yo ass right here."
You looked at him, really looked at him, and sighed softly, letting your head drop back onto his shoulder. "You real demanding when you first wake up."
"I'm just trying to keep the vibe tight," he said, his voice dropping into that slow, comfortable drawl. He ran a hand up your back, his palm warm against your bare skin. "For real, though. Last night wasn't just about the gas. You know that, right?"
You paused, your fingers tracing the edge of his hoodie that he seem to have fell asleep in. For months, it had been a slow burn, passing looks in the quad, lingering conversations when he came to re-up, the unspoken tension that both of you kept a lid on because of who you were on campus. You were the responsible student leader; he was the face of the athletic program. A real relationship meant complications neither of you had time for. Or so you told yourself.
"I know," you said quietly. "But this shit gone get messy, Cam. You got the championship in a few days. You got scouts looking at you. I’m trying to finish this semester without losing my job or my mind."
Cameron shifted, propping himself up on one elbow so he could look down at you. The easy, flirty smirk he usually wore was completely gone. "I don't care about none of that extra noise when I’m in here. Out there, everybody want something from me. Coach, the team, the fans... it’s all a performance, bruh. But when I come through that door? I don't gotta pretend. You see me. The real me. That’s why I fuck with you girl.”
He reached up, gently tucking a stray curl behind your ear, his thumb lingering against your jawline.
"I been checking for you since the beginning of the semester," he continued, his eyes locked onto yours, completely sincere. "This ain't a temporary thing for me. I’m tryna see what we doing for real. Win or lose this weekend, I want you in my corner."
Hearing him say it out loud, without the armor of the slang or the playful deflection, made your heart do a strange, heavy thud. It was one thing to be his secret escape; it was another thing entirely to realize he was looking at you like an anchor.
"You sure you ready for that?" you asked, a small, genuine smile finally breaking through your hesitation. "I’m warning you now my nigga…you try me, I promise I will break your throwing arm."
Cameron let out a soft, genuine laugh, the sound deep and warm in the quiet room. He leaned down, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to your lips no rush, no heat, just a quiet promise.
“You laughing nigga I’m dead ass. Come my way with some fuck shit watch what I do to you.”
"I already know how you get," he murmured against your mouth, his eyes softened with a look that belonged only to you. "But I'm locked in. I told you, you my go-to."
