For this final project I made a Popplet to make a summary of everything that was covered in our GITIC class.

After doing this conceptual map, I observed that a lot of 2.0 tools were used and discovered. This is important to take into account because you can use them to teach a dynamic class and make the students intrested on the subject. I do think this will make them be more keen on learning because it did made me pay more attention in class when we learned about these 2.0 tools. 

In addition, these 2.0 tools were also used in various of our proyects so we could say that we put them into good use. Learning how to manage them is beneficial because if you know how to use them, then you can teach others to manipulate them.

Digital identity was also a big part of the class discussions. I think this is a very important subject because it really does affect people nowadays. It’s necessary to mantain a well and polished digital identity because if you have a negative one, it could damage your future studies and work comittments. It’s essential to maintain Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and LinkedIn with a positive image.

In brief, I have to say that everything that was learnt in this class helped me understand that knowing the basics of technology is important in education nowadays because the modern world moves around these ICT’s.

I’ll make sure that many of the things studied in class will be used in my experience as a teacher because I really do think it’ll help students evolve. I recommend other teachers to use these as well.

The Didactic Board

In the GITIC class we’ve also touched the subject of didactic boards and their use inside the classroom. 

Some important boards are Smarttech and Open-Sankoré. These can be used to demonstrate something to the classroom in a didactic and more comprehensive way. This is a kinetic way of learning because everyone can participate on it and it expands the knowledge of the pupils by working with their hands.

It’s also a beneficial resource for the teacher because she/he can do the theoretical and practical part of the topic in these didactic boards.

Bloom’s Taxonomy

In class we spoke about Bloom’s Taxonomy and the class created a site where we wrote our findings.

I learned that this Taxonomy includes: remembering, creating, evaluating, analyzing, applying and comprehending. It was something that I appreciated doing because I learned different 2.0 tools that I could use in order to cover these elements.

Some of the websites like Kahoot and Powtoon kept repeating themselves because these tools are good for a lot of these taxonomy elements.

I found that this exercise was a good group project because we all worked on these different words and their meaning. We also had to figure out the tools that could fit on each one.

This is the project I did with Kathi about how catalan is implemented in International schools. It was an ideal subject to do with her because we’ve both gone to a bilingual school and we could compare the two experiences.

We concluded that both Benjamin Franklin and Zürich Schule left the catalan language marginalized and spent little time giving these classes to their students. We believe that this should be changed because now we would have benefited of these extra classes. 

I think this project was really interesting to do because I got to know Kathi’s school better and I saw that my school wasn’t the only one that left catalan aside. It’s nice to see that you’re not the only one that's struggling with this language. 

I would recommend doing this inside a primary class because it’s good that the students get to know each other by having something in common. It’s always a benefit to know a lot about the pupils in your class.

My group and I made this video using the youtube editor.

We picked videos which talked about the mSchools and using ICT’s inside the class area. We placed this short films together and constructed this video. It’s important to learn about these mSchools because maybe it’s going to be a huge part of our near future.

I think it turned out pretty good and it explains what mSchools stand for very clearly.

I also consider that the youtube editor is a simple and straight forward tool that everyone can use freely. I use it a lot outside the uni area and it has helped me with the editing of other videos. I would use it in a classroom activity 100%.

This is my group’s webquest. We talk about the importance of rescuing the traditional games that kids played back then. 

We decided that it was necessary to add videos to get our points across. Laura, Miranda and I filmed while Anna helped putting the video together and doing the conclusions. She used IMovie to do that.

We saw that there’s always motivation to play these games and that they shouldn’t be lost in time.

I think it’s a good tool to use a webquest because it helps us structure what we want to transmit. I would recommend to use it because it’s always nice to have all info in one place. I would totally use it in a classroom.

This is our booktrailer about the TV series and book Pretty Little Liars. 

We picked this book because it fitted perfectly to what we wanted to transmit. It was ideal because Pretty Little Liars talks about 4 girls and we’re exactly 4 girls. 

I’m very happy about how this turned out and I’m thankful to all the extras that were portrayed in the video. I also appreciate that we had a lot of dialogue compared to other groups and I consider that it made the experience more understandable.

This is a Vlog my peers and I made to remember and transmit the “Setmana Pre”. The “Setmana Pre” is a week where we got to talk about the problems with the refugees and their sufferings. I think that this was the topic that was chosen for this year because we’re specially having trouble with this subject nowadays.

In the video, there’s a portray of all the different activities that we did as a whole and all the places we went to. It goes all the way from Monday to Friday and it summarizes all of our adventures. 

My favorite part of this educational week were the practices with our Godparents. It was amazing experiencing how it would be being a teacher at a school. It was interesting for me because I’ve always been used to teaching kids below 5 years old and this week I had the chance to work with 5th graders. To be honest, I enjoyed it more because I’m really keen on having students that listen to me and follow orders. 

Finally, my group and I are very grateful of Blanquerna for giving us this opportunity of experiencing the “Setmana Pre”.

This website helps us share sites that we find important or that we really like. 

I have a collection with my “Bon Comunicador” team and in that way we can share all our findings.

It reminds me a lot of the function of “Drive” and I think it has the same termplate more or less.

Also, I believe that bookmarking the website you like is easy with the option of the star in the upper right; that was a great idea.

I’ll use this tool to bookmark all my important findings that I could use in the near future.

In this website, my team-mate Anna and I made a conceptual map with an explanation of what a Digital Competency meant. We did this after reading a certain fragment which talked about this subject and we did for homework. After that, in class, we made this which is going to help us understand the topic better. 

Digital Competency is beneficial for a teacher to have because today the world orbits around new technologies and it’s a must to know hot to use these. A teacher that is capable of teaching about ICT’s and how they work will most likely be more prepared to teach in this new technological world.

This tool is really recomendable because it helps you do a summery of a certain subject and you can share it with other people in order for them to understand what you want to transmit. I will sure use it when finishing off a class and wanting to sum up the info given.

​In this activity the whole class came together on a web called Linoit. It consisted on placing “sticky notes” and writing what we thought about Digital Identity and what we wanted our digital identity to be like. It was interesting to see how everyone had different ideas and at the same time we could all see the other’s points of view.

Having a good and positive Digital Identity is super super important because it could directly affect your personal society status. You might not get a job because of this Digital Identity of yours.

It’s always a good idea to check your privacy settings and go over the pictures and posts you’ve done in the past.

This activity was really entertaining because my group and I created an animated powerpoint using PowToon. We could add different animations, music...etc. I think it’s a good way to create and entertaining and fun presentation to show to your future classroom. 

In this powerpoint, we included info about the “Web 2.0″. We gathered the data we learned from the reading done at home and placed it all in one place. It’s nice to have it all together because it’s a simple summary that can be useful for future purposes. 

Lots of new things can be learned by using this application and, in conclusion, I would totally recommend this website to any teacher/student who wants to construct a enjoyful presentation.

By using VideoNot, the main goal is to make notes including the minute and second of the video on screen.

My thought on this web was a good one but on the other hand, it made me really nervous that it had a weird way of placing a “tilde”. Instead of only placing one on top of the chosen letter, it placed three, one on each side...  it was really enfuriating. However, I would totally use this again for following notes on videos because it’s really helpful.

Educational Blogs

One of the tasks we had to do in class was make a Drive talking about the educational blogs that are in our community and their benefits.

What we did was that we analyzed different educational blogs and stated the elements that were helpful and coherent. I relized that having one of these blogs helps solidify the parent-student-teacher relationships because it brings them even closer. A parent can easily be informed about his son’s progress by entering these blogs. 

I would most surely make one of these when I have a class.

This is a powerpoint presentation I did with some of my classmates. We talked about the new technologies that can be used inside a class. We went to Google Drive to do this presentation and I figured out it’s a good method to create a powerpoint with a lot of group mates. It was quick and easy in usage. Really recommendable and I would also use it in a class with the bigger kids. I used this website a lot in my old high school! It brings back the memories... :D

By doing this project, we learned about ways of introducing technologies inside the class area. These ways are coherent and beneficial to the class because nowadays it’s important to know how to make use of these ICT’s. 

By introducing technological ways of educating children, we will prepare a generation of worthy competent alumni that could easily manage a ICT.

I am grateful for having learned about this because I can use these ideas to introduce them to my class once I’m a teacher. I’m in favor of teaching about technology because I think it makes the classes more dynamic and entertaining.

This is myself as a Voki. This can be used in a class to represent a student and what they have to say. It can be a good way to make the class know each other. 

I made my Voki introduce herself in Spanish so she could say some info about myself. I think it turned out pretty good. It’s recommendable and I will for sure use it inside a class if I have the chance.
