My Drum Corps Shows from 2022-2024
2022 - "The Maze"
2022's The Maze follows a group of Archeologists that plunder into a notoriously dangerous Dungeon Maze filled with deadly traps that ultimately lead into a room filled with globally sot out treasures.
I consider this the best drum corps show I've written yet because it was the hardest I've written...yet lol but it was so much fun! Got to play one of my own songs for the Opening, then a piece I wanted to arrange since high school is the second part. Dune is in the show....I mean what more can you ask for 🤣 one of my favorite DCI Hornbook Composers Jay Bocook's piece "Liquid" and it wouldn't be a Virtual DBC show without a video game soundtrack piece, so that explains the Destiny 2 song.
Reps are... Stuck in a Maze by Femi D. Daniel Music of the Spheres by Phillip Sparke Paul's Dream by Hanz Zimmer Liquid by Jay Bocook Mists
2023 - "To Avalon"
Arthurian Mythology gets flipped on its head when Mordred's Camelot is announcing TRAILS OF IMMEDIATE EXECUTION of the previous regime of King Arthur and his Knights of the Roundtable (yes, I was mad that Crown '23 stole my show kinda). The beginning of the show basically spells a "loss" for our protagonist, Guinevere, so we accompany her to fulfil a promise to her beloved by bringing Excalibur to Avalon. I conducted Mahler 2 and I figured it was time I arrange it for drum corps. Aquatic Base Zone is my FAVORITE zone in Sonic Advance 3 and I'm glad it fits the theme of the show sonically (pun aaaaaall the way indented), Blue Knights 2011 love with my arrangements of Bonny Boy and Dives and Lazarus, and Kid Cudi's Baptized in Fire had a melody that would be PERFECT for a drum corps ballad, so I did exactly that.

2024- "Time Square, NYC"
So after being very very very very very VERY sad that The Cadets folded, it was hard to actually finish this show 😅 like it took 11 months for me to finish it lol didn't help that I was burnt out musically and I didn't get a ton of inspiration from the DCI/DCA in 2022 & 2023, but I'm glad I finished it cuz it reaffirms my dream to one day write horns for a drum corps. It is a shame I took so long to finish this because I really like the theme here. I wanted to humanize the concept of "Time Dilation" so I fictionalized 3 generations of men having to work on December 31st while making arrangements on getting that New Year's Kiss from their beloved. Within the show, I wanted to convey prevalent themes stretched across each generation through the in-show commentary. To pay homage to The Cadets, I arranged Ballet Sacra and West Side Story, serving as the Gen Xer, Oilfield Panorama would be our Boomer, and the "Rich (Interlude)" features everyone including the Millennial/Gen Z. I think this would make sense after a listen through haha.

Very long post but I figure I'd post these now in hopes to curb everyone's drum corps craving for a week haha
