Ashley and Adam had been friends since they were in diapers since Adam’s family had worked in various posts in the castle for generations. But once she was of age, her mother kept them apart as much as possible. She said it wasn’t proper for a princess and a knight to be friends and be seen with each other.
Adam hated that now, as he and Ashley were not able to be seen together. While they couldn’t see each other in public, Adam knew how to find ways around these things. He headed to her room, but took a less than conventional method. “Ashley!” He called out to her, having now perched on her window sill from climbing up to it.
Adam smiled as he felt her straddle him. He cupped her face as they continued to kiss. The footsteps got louder till they’re reached the door.
Ashley didn’t even notice the footsteps, she was too busy tugging off Adam’s shirt. She kissed along his shoulders and chest where she could reach.
Adam helped her take off his shirt, sighing softly. A rattling of the doorknob and the door swinging open finally drew him out of it. He pushed Ashley away to spot one of her of her maids in the doorway. He blinked and quickly grabbed up his shirt as he tumbled out of the bed, stuttering out an attempt of a response.
“Layla, I can explain. Please, don’t tell anyone.”
Her maid was already backing away and out of the room before Ashley could talk to her. Adam hurriedly got dressed heading over to the window to check his escape route. This wasn’t good. “I... I’m so sorry...” he said, looking over at Ashley before he clambered out of the window and began to scale down the wall.
Ashley got dressed and jumped up, rushing to the window to look down at Adam. Praying that no one realized he had escaped out the window.
Adam scurried down the wall and landed at the bottom quickly. He looked around, trying to see if anyone had saw him leave. He soon broke into a run, sprinting away from the castle, weaving his way through the crowded market place to get back to his quarters before anybody noticed he was gone.
