whiteliily:
Shiro enjoyed that he could get such a reaction from the god. Of course they maintained their poise - but he delighted in the slight reddening of the skin. “I like either. But — I do prefer it when you speak plainly to me.”
“Then I will speak plainly to you. It is what I also prefer, to be honest with you—flowery speech should be reserved for throne rooms, not used on lovers.” Gwyndolin reached out to thread their fingers with Shiro’s. “What would you like to do? I am free for the next era, it would seem.”
I’ve been really sick so I have no desire to do anything. I’m sorry guys.
IN TRUTH, HE IS BOUND BECAUSE HE DESERVES TO BE BOUND, BECAUSE HE WANTS TO BE BOUND, BECAUSE A JUST AND FAIR WORLD WOULD HAVE HIM BOUND AND WOULD BE BETTER FOR IT.
❛ i always get myself into this mess. ❜
“Do try to not get yourself into any more messes.” The blood upon their chambers will stain, after all. “That’s enough excitement for a bloody decade.” Though they do use the cuff of their robe to wipe blood off the older Prince’s cheek.
“Perhaps I am getting old. In my formative years I would have enjoyed this.” They sigh and shake their head. It’s too late now to do anything about it. “Do be careful. I want my living relatives to stay living...and mind the Undead. They’re frightfully intent on destroying everything.”
❛ so that’s what you do.. you command attention. ❜
“Do I?” Their tone is light & airy, though it betrays the grave look on their face. “I try not to, though with the position of ruler one simply must from time to time. Though I fear I’ve little to rule over but ash & ruin in this Age of Dark...there will come a time when I am, perhaps, of use to this world.”
For now they suffer and their power wanes. The Soul of Aldrich had been given to the failed Chosen in hopes of them using it to continue the Age of the Gods, but the Chosen had failed as many others had. “I am...not what I once was, that I will admit.” They rub at their forearm, the smile they usually easily wear around the vampire faltering. “I hope I do not disappoint you.”
edelweissmage: "The truth is...you make me speechless."
“I hear that from many people.” Gwyndolin remains impassive, steely eyes gazing at Vailintin with scrutiny. “It doth not give mine self any comfort, any joy. Silence is for tombs—for the dead.” They grab hold of their cup of tea and take a sip. The aroma of lavender calms them, but the words are still scalding. Every time, however, they hurt less.
“I am not dead; I am not my Lord Father.” Dropping the formalities for a moment, they feel they can be a bit more honest with them. “Yet people remind me of the similarities day in and out. I will not be satisfied with it. I do not wish to be him.”
❛ the truth is.. you make me speechless ❜
They tilt their head, eyes widening to denote their surprise. They have been told this many times—by noblemen, by Gods, by the Chosen their self—but none of those times felt truly sincere. Gwyndolin reaches up to cup Reginald’s face in their hands. “I fear you have the same effect on me.” Gwyndolin presses a kiss to his forehead. Without Reginald, they fear that they would have been lost to Aldrich completely.
He is my light.
❛ you have a sadness living in places sadness shouldn’t live. ❜
“The Gods have reason to weep—we are less and less by the day.” Gwyndolin may be the last now and it makes them shiver. They don’t want to be alone. “I do not expect you to understand. You are not...one of us.”

❛ we are capable of love but choose to be toxic. ❜ ❛ you have a sadness living in places sadness shouldn’t live. ❜ ❛ i’m difficult to forget and not easy for the mind to follow. ❜ ❛ you are a war. ❜ ❛ every revolution starts and ends with his lips. ❜ ❛ the truth is.. you make me speechless ❜ ❛ he makes my tongue so weak it forgets what language to speak in. ❜ ❛ what drives you crazy? what keeps you up at night? ❜ ❛ so that’s what you do.. you command attention. ❜ ❛ you look like you smell of honey and no pain. ❜ ❛ i always get myself into this mess. ❜ ❛ i’m a dreamer and that will be the death of me. ❜ ❛ you were so distant. i forgot you were there at all. ❜ ❛ don’t mistake salt for sugar. if he wants to be with you.. he will. ❜ ❛ you were temptingly beautiful but stung when i got too close. ❜ ❛ don’t come here with expectations and try to make a vacation out of me. ❜ ❛ the thing worth holding on would of never let go. ❜ ❛ love made the danger in you look like safety. ❜ ❛ i don’t grieve.. i shatter. ❜ ❛ when i’m angry, i don’t yell i burn. ❜ ❛ we began with honesty. let us end in it, too. ❜ ❛ your voice alone drives me to tears. ❜ ❛ like a broken promise.. let it go. ❜ ❛ our backs tell stories no books have have the spine to carry. ❜ ❛ you were a dragon long before he came around and said you could fly. you will remain a dragon long after he’s left. ❜ ❛ the world gives you so much pain, and here you are making gold out of it. ❜ ❛ you split me open in the most honest way there is. ❜
edelweissmage:
“If I am to grow into my place as Child of Spring, I must adapt to the more…tedious duties of my role. I can only learn so much from books.” As if for emphasis, Vailintin hefts the book in their arms so Gwyndolin can see the title. It’s a book about politics of the region, and it is heavily bookmarked with colorful strips of paper.
The slightest compliment from Gwyndolin flusters Vailintin and they drop their book in the rapidly-growing grass. The elves complimented them out of politeness and respect for their divinity; Gwyndolin is not under the same obligations. Ergo, they must be sincere in their praise.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.” Vailintin bobs in a bow, fluttering once more. Their emotions reflected in the way the flowers go from tinged with red to brilliant crimson. “I will take notes where I can. When do you wish me to start?” They are eager to impress their guardian, however temporary this arrangement may be.
“Good.. Many young people are not willing to work hard toward their goals—many young humans, anyways, but thou art not human. Gwyndolin glances at the book. “Ah, that one. I read that in mine own youth. It is good. Though the information on Oolacile is...outdated. I will tell thee about Manus of the Abyss another time.” Their own face falters from its placidity for a moment, silvery gaze reflecting their sadness.
“Do remember to cease thine magic at some point. I would not want grass to grow up the castle walls.” It is a small jest, they are not even sure if Vailintin is capable of such a feat...yet. Or perhaps they are! Their new charge is a bit of a mystery beyond the very basics.
“This evening, after mine own rounds are finished. Lest thou art planning something else, of course.” They prefer to work in the night, though they can imagine someone of spring may wish to sleep during the midnight hour. “If not then, perhaps another time. Converse with the nobles at dinner. It will be of great benefit to thee in the long run, after all.”

“Oh no! It’s not that at all!” Reginald said, shifting so that he now sat upright. He moved his free hand so that he could place a hand on their face. The thought of them thinking that he didn’t want them broke his heart a little bit.
“It’s just…..been a while, that’s all,” he reassured. “It’s not you, its me I swear.”
“If I didn’t want this…..I would tell you.”
“I assure you, it has been many centuries for me too.” They were soft, vulnerable. These words were revealing of their own faults. Gwyndolin leaned into his touch, eyes fluttering closed as they lightly dragged their nails across his chest. “You are so handsome, my sweet Reginald. T’is quite hard to not simply smother you with kisses. I feel as if I lose control around you! It is...exhilarating.”
Does Gwyndolin enjoy sweet things? If so, what are their favorites?
They actually prefer savory and spicy things! They’re still weak for anything that has chocolate in it though.
manofwcr:
Reginald almost choked when they moved his hand to their chest. Immediately his other hand shot out and grabbed the side of the tub for support. He didn’t understand how they could appear to be so calm during all of this, and in a way he was almost jealous of them for being able to do so.
“I…..yes,” he stammered, letting his hand trail down their chest slightly. “O-of course.”
“Are you certain that you are okay with this? You seem...frightened, almost.” It would not be the first time that they were rejected. Was it the scarring on their knees? The fact that they are a man? “You’ve only ever been with women, is that it?” Gwyndolin’s smile faded as they loomed over him, finally letting his forehead press against his. “I promise it isn’t too terribly bad. Being with a man, that is.”
manofwcr:
“Y-You do?”
Reginald couldn’t help the moan that escaped when they began to massage his chest. It was becoming increasingly hard to focus on what they were saying, and he couldn’t help but wonder if it was intentional or not.
“I….I swear I’m not normally like this,” he said, one hand gripping the side of the bath.
The moan earned Reginald a small, private smile. Good, this was what they wanted, wasn’t it? It was so incredibly easy to make the man come unhinged. “You can put your hands on me, Reginald. I will not be angry with you.” They took the hand not gripping onto the tub by the wrist and placed it gently against their chest. “Here. I can even start for you, dear.”
manofwcr:
If Reginald wasn’t feeling flustered before, he was certainly feeling so now. He could feel his heart starting to race as they straddled him, and he almost didn’t hear their question as they began to wash his face.
“No,” he answered, forcing himself to look at them. “I had to take…..alternative paths to get back to the castle.”
“I’m glad that you were safe. The undead are becoming...a problem.” They were much harder to eradicate too, considering the fact that hollows just came back to life. He moved the cloth down to massage Reginald’s chest, humming softly as they did so. “I just want you to be safe. That’s all.” Gwyndolin pressed a gentle kiss to his throat. “T’is quite adorable, you know. How flustered you get.”
edelweissmage:
“A mentor?” Vailintin flutters with excitement, and the roses take on a reddish hue in response to the outpouring of their magic. With a teacher, Vailintin can finally harness and control their powers. It will help them cast the Spell of Spring to lift the pall of winter when their father is weak enough. And that moment should come any day now, as Franz grows weaker trying to extend the influence of winter across the land.
“Thank you so much, Your Majesty.” Their earlier dramatic statement is embarrassing, and Vailintin waves it away. In their attempt to distance themself from their father, Vailintin may have come off too strongly. “You’ve done so much for me by sheltering me, and now offering to find me a teacher. If there is anything I can do to help you in return, I will do whatever I can to assist you.”
While Vailintin loves An Ráithín and their elven caretakers, they did feel a little useless. Every time they so much dropped a book, a swarm of elves would rush over to fuss and baby them. Gwyndolin does not seem the type to spoil a young god as Vailintin, and for that they are grateful.
“There is no point in sheltering thee if thou art not allowed to bloom.” What is the point in keeping a charge and not fostering their abilities? Gwyndolin doubts they came from a good family environment—their confidence would need some bolstering too. “Assist mine self?” Gwyndolin tilts their head. “There is little joy in the tasks I possess. I doubt thine interest would be held with guarding tombs and writing missives.”
Not wanting to discourage someone that already seemed to feel lacking, Gwyndolin does relent in the end, and nods. “Though I am sure thine own presence would be welcome. Thou art a pleasant sight to be hold and well worded. I find myself tiring of entertaining Lords and Ladies from afar. Perhaps it would be good for thee to practice thine speech as well.”
