I've mulled this over, and I'm a bit sad to announce that my muse for Sampo has dwindled to an all time low. I'm just not obsessed with H:SR as bad as I was, nor I'm playing as hard as I did before, so it's unlikely that it'll return anytime soon.
I'm unsure if I'll ever pick this funky little freak up again, in the future. Just telling people that, if our muses are tied and you don't feel comfortable with a ghost partner, there's 0 offense if anybody wants to move on from my muse. Shit happens.

Do you ever stop and think that the world as we know it may end, and we never know when? That all of our hard-earned achievements, in the end, mean nothing to the darkness enveloping oneself, truly rendering everything meaningful to us void?
I think that Sampo has. Multiple times.
This phylosophy has, by now, become something he has accepted, even embraced- it must be an important thing to believe in the upcoming void, if one wants to join the Masked Fools.
Again, referencing this post- the followers of Aha remind me of the Bacchaes, Dyonisus's followers. Less extreme- because we have yet to see one of the MFs commit heinous acts in-game, but if they ever do... ehe...
I think that Sampo has thoughts on the concept that all life will disappear in the void, one day- and it depends on his mood, on how many personal connections he makes- on his earnings, when he's in a stellar mood because of a scam of his that just worked.
On the good days, it puts him in a very chipper mood- that it doesn't matter how many enemies he makes and how angry they are at him: he will be enjoying himself with their hard-earned cash. He'll buy himself things that he enjoys, or perfect his disguises with it in order to keep his entertainment levels high. The funnier the scamming was, the better! The more he gains from him, the more enjoyment he can get from the spoils! That it's temporary matters none, because in the end it brought him enjoyment, was worth the trouble and gave him a good laugh.
The ruin that he brings upon the idiots he scams is temporary, after all- there are things that he will pursue for his own delight, and he'll find these people putting actual effort into chasing him down, tearing their own hair out, funny and meaningless- the world is destined to end, one day! You can't really waste your energies on Sampo Koski playing a trick or two on you!
For him, it's actually a degree of comforting knowing that he doesn't have to seek real redemption for his action, that he doesn't have to put effort into it. First, he doesn't want to redeem of anything- and second, he doesn't need it. The twisted comfort that he will, one day, simply cease to be- painlessly ( will it be painless? it'd be bliss if it was ) swallowed by the black tar of the universe. Nothing that he will have achieved will matter, none of his material possessions will follow him- there will be nothing left, simply nothingness. In a way, Sampo is almost tiepid about it: he doesn't anticipate it with the same degree of devoted enthusiasm as some of his fellows, but knows it will come, one day.
And then... then, he has a bad day, and it hits him. It hits him when he lets his brain wander a little too much instead of keeping it grounded.
It reminds him of the earlier days where he was a newly joined Masked Fool- overthinking, and lots of it. Embracing Aha, but also wracking his brain thinking about how this is so, so enormous- the void! For fuck's sake, the nothingness that will nullify Sampo Koski- everything that he has ever done, anyone he has ever loved, anything that he has ever earned and owned- will be just gone like that.
On the worst headspace, the approaching nothingness feels suffocating; a battle he cannot win, an approaching sense of impending doom.
In these days, he feels like he's split into two entities- one little, pathetic and fearful man, on his hands and knees on the floor as another person casts a shadow over him, voice full of contempt and pity.
so silly of you to ooze desperation like this! if you're destined to end- what's so bad about that, hmmm? peaceful darkness, cast over you like a theather's curtain, that's what it is! a good performance must have an end- even the most skilled actor can't keep it going forever.
And, upon looking up- he sees a lacquered, smiling mask donned over his own face, staring back at him with a whimsical, painted-on smile.
That's when he takes a deep breath, and takes the mask back from the doppelganger.
The duality of Gepard, who made me do 300 pulls in the standard banner just to get his stupid ass home and will be punished by having no artifacts VS. Himeko, the queen, who comes to me in a delightful surprise at 73 pity and makes me complete the standard banner ♥
see, this is what you love most. their eyes light up and no one can do it quite like them. whether they are a fighter or a healer. whether they are full of grace and gentle poise, or brute strength and wild energy, you love them when they are at their purest form. raw and unfettered. unadulterated by social cues and careful masks we all wear. when they are just them, trusting their instincts, using their experience, relying on the skills they earned. this is when you heart swells with pride. and you can never decide if you want to interrupt them and draw them into your arms with a hungry, appreciative kiss. or if you could sit there and quietly observe them for hours with more satisfaction than anything physical could bring.

I'm gonna limit myself to two experiences or this post would reach alarming lengths and those are gonna be based on my past experiences in bad fandoms, since rping here has been a DREAM.
One of my biggest pet peeves is being approached with smut outright, on ANY muse, as a first interaction.
I am an extremely anxious being and I need a lot of ooc communication to enstabilish a romance, let alone smut, and having our first approach being porn launched at me like a shuriken is going to make me nervous as fuck, not to mention that my muse will probably not reply the way you think they will.
Also, speaking of pet peeves: if you're not okay with a thing i'm doing, a side of my portrayal for Sampo, something I said oocly or anything else, my IMs are always open for a chat and, no matter if you think a request will be weird, i'll do my best to listen and find a solution that helps both of us.
However, i will put my foot down on a thing: I don't tolerate passive-aggressiveness that blends the borders of ooc and ic. If you'd rather let your attitude towards other muns negatively bleed into your portrayal towards their muse(s) than address the issue, I'd rather we don't interact at ALL. This is not a power play i'm willing to entertain, and i firmly believe that anyone who engages in this has either a kink for getting yelled at or lacks the maturity needed for essential ooc communication.

in cases like Kaeya, they have to be a little bit mysterious. Those characters that hide a deep sadness under their affable demeanor and seem to have plenty of questionable secrets hanging all around them.
In cases like Sampo, he broke into my house at 5am and demanded to be roleplayed.
I have yet to know the logic behind this- I think that I can pinpoint that I also take on characters with strong ideals and morals, who live and die for this one thing, who are just indestructible fuckers who just won't stay down. As I said, no idea-

I LOVE THE COMFORT OF PLOTTING. winging it is fine as long as we have jotted down the bases but there's something anxiety-inducing in some cases, expecially with little communication ;;

at some point i'm gonna need to talk about Sampo's feelings for @dauntingsmite and how that came so naturally and gradually to him that it didn't triggered his flight response towards love to just turn around and bolt. one day....... i'll tackle the things in my askbox and make an exhaustive explanation. for now they're Husbands
Releasing Sampo entirely, extracting himself from the other man’s hold, Gepard smirks, smug as ever. It doesn’t take much to have the elusive criminal moaning — at least, it’s easy for him. And for the sake of everybody, Gepard better be the only one who has such an influence on the conman.
Nimble fingers make quick work of the button of Sampo’s pants, wiggling hips from the fabric that confines them. When they’d first gotten together, his movements once were clumsy, fumbling with something so small. It’d been painfully embarrassing. Thanks to Sampo, he’s had plenty of practice since then.
Sampo’s asset springing free, Gepard kneels uncomfortably on the ground. Lust-filled gaze, piercing, meets Sampo’s own. ❝ You should know by now that I’ll always catch you. ❞Fingers wrap firm around Sampo, performing a few testing strokes before taking the tip into his mouth.
Gepard is a very, very good student. just a few times and a few words have shredded the last of his awkward, pawing, uncertaint moves and turned his hands expert- even as Sampo shimmies out of his pants and underwar for him, the motion is fluid. there are truly no words to describe how proud the conman is of him-
-except a moan, considering how warm and inviting Gepard's mouth is. Sampo is embarassingly quick to fold into it, face and tip of his ears flushed. he flushes the more he looks down at Gepard, now knelt in front of him and pratically salivating to make him moan.
he's so blessed- so immensely lucky, that is. this sight doesn't happen often- and it's just for him...!
oh, he could faint-
and he almost does as he's properly treated, hand snaking in blond locks to push, tug or keep at bay, if necessary. “ you sure do, ” and thanks to Gepard's ministrations his voice is a bit too strangled to hint at the mockery underneath. Sampo lolls his head back and lets his husband take the lead, swallowing thickly. “ babe, just━ don't choke... ”

He genuinely contemplates the idea of regarding them on even grounds, almost rejecting the notion — but that's more his competitive tendencies taking over. With Sampo flush against him, it's best not to pass up the opportunity presented to him.
❝ I accept your terms. We're even. ❞
Now Gepard is free to do as he pleases; free hand finds purchase on Sampo's rear, squeezing lightly, the other remaining tightly wound in his hair. Keeping his head pulled back, chapped lips latch onto Sampo's throat, roughly suctioning the delicate skin until it's angry, red, and will surely leave a bruise. Pleased with his work, Gepard finds a new area of flesh to decorate. ❝ Is the bedroom necessary? ❞
he has correctly deduced that, by the power of his touch alone, the capitulation of Gepard becomes something much easier to score. it turns out that this time, despite the dramaticity and tension, is working as usual. so, Sampo makes a satisfied purr in the back of his throat. placated successfully!
“ mmm, good... ”
-that comes off as more of a moan than anything, really. eyelids flutter shut once Gepard begins his firm, splendid work on his throat; it gives him goosebumps, to see him assertive and more dominant. Gepard knows what he wants and is no longer afraid to take it. all but cooing, Sampo clings to him, throwing his head back into the hold. “ well, no━ not at all, actually- as long as you catch me after, we won't need one... ”
