I'm tired of hearing about Young Kirk and Young Spock. I want a (good) show about young shithead Science Lieutenant Janeway falling in BFF love with Tuvok while on adventures together and there's ZERO ROMANCE. I MEAN IT. NO ENTERPRISE LOVE BOAT ALLOWED.

A Great Name for an Ostrich

At 13:20, the medieval Chinese historian describes an ostrich as a "camel-crane". Truly, any animal can be a fusion creature, if you've never seen it before.

Idk I think any nationwide organization with nearly 2 million people that's dedicated to empowering girls should be seen as the force that it is, but naw, yall just wanna see them as ~adorable~

Inspired by the fact that I took a girl scout cpr class last night and they explained that women are something like half as likely to receive CPR because people can't handle the concept of touching breasts.

So a fucking girl scout MIDDLE SCHOOLER wanted to something about it. As part of earning her silver award, she reached out to the mannequin manufacturer and asked if they could include prosthetic breasts with every CPR mannequin they sell. The company agreed and the kid worked with the company to help design it.

Now hundreds and maybe thousands of people are learning how to save *women's* lives too.

the idea that women are "more allowed" to express emotions than men under patriarchy honestly seems like a lie that serves patriarchy itself.

women are constantly pressured to dissociate from the way our circumstances negatively impact us, and we are straight up not permitted more emotional expression in any meaningful way that is received well in patriarchal relations. in reality, we are marked as "more emotional" and therefore taken less seriously than men.

nobody under patriarchy is allowed a healthy and full expression of their emotions, but framing emotional expression as an advantage that women have is bizarre.

I find it very offensive that the more unwell you are, the more things you have to do to maintain your health. Things like following special diets, going to medical appointments, making big and important decisions about what treatments to use. At the same time, the more unwell you are the less energy you have to do all of these extra things. It seems grossly unfair.
