Don’t underestimate water. Running water is a highly versatile tool. Send things downstream to banish them, sink them to bind them, bathe them to cleanse them of unwanted attributes, etc. Water can also be used as a simple offering, can be used to write invisible sigils on objects and is the one of the most important building blocks of life!

This is a charging board!

It is a simple way to charge up and cleanse your crystals without having to focus on visualisation. Simply put your crystal in the center of a piece of paper, and write around it two categories of words: the things you want to fill your crystal with, and the things you want out of them. Then draw arrows pointing into the crystal for the positives, and away from it for the negatives.

This is a visual way to charge/cleanse without having to maintain focus. I’m certain it could work for any object you want to use, not just crystals!

Automatic writing is the most direct of Surrealist techniques. Sit at a table with pen and paper; put yourself in a ‘receptive’ frame of mind, and start writing. Continue writing without thinking of what is appearing beneath your pen. Write as fast as you can. If, for some reason, the flow stops,leave a space and immediately begin again by writing down the first letter of the next sentence. Choose this letter at random before you begin, for instance, a ’t’, and always begin this new sentence with a ’t’. Although in the purest version of automatism nothing is 'corrected’ or re-written the unexpected material produced by this method can be used as the basis for further composition. What is crucial is the unpremeditated free association that creates the basic text.

I don’t have my notes on hand, so I don’t remember exactly how the intention was worded -- probably something like “my mind is clear”, though. I carved it into the bottom of a rosemary-pine-grapefruit candle that I burn whenever I’m having a particularly foggy day, but I’ve also used it a few other places. :)

You know how I asked in August “If I wrote a book on weather magic would any of you read/buy it?” well at the time I was about to enter into the final semester of my Undergraduate degrees at University and, while interested, I didn’t have the time to actually begin writing a book - well now I do.
