Members of the Bodi tribe of Ethiopia

The Mekan or Me'en are an ethnic minority group inhabiting southwestern Ethiopia. The population is subdivided into two groups: the highland Tishena, who are agriculturalists, and the lowland Bodi, who are pastoralists. Scarification is widespread among both men and women among the Bodi and is intended to demonstrate beauty and courage.

The abandoned Mys Aniva Lighthouse, Sakhalin Island, Russia. Built in 1939 by Japanese engineer Miura Shinobu, it was reclaimed by the Soviet Union after WW2 and turned into an autonomous nuclear-powered lighthouse. It’s said to be still radioactive today.
