So like... How do shiny charms work? Like what about the charm attracts shiny Mon????

absolutely nothing, but confirmation bias is powerful. some people swear by them, but they're just a cute little charm. i've heard of some professors giving them out as a reward for filling out a lot of entries in the local pokedex, and i think that's probably where they association with shiny pokemon comes from. people who encounter a lot more wild pokemon than average are naturally going to have more chances to see shiny pokemon than those who don't!
