The room had been empty for some time. Students and faculty had left her to this challenge with an occasional visit just to make sure she wasn't hurt. From the brink of dawn, to the mid afternoon, she had barely stopped save for a chance to hydrate and eat a little dried protein to ensure her body could keep up with the task.
Upon first entering, Akitsu could be found center of the room; a notable cloth choker that may seem out of place, hid the scar at the front of her neck, dark tank top and summer sweats with a slim cuff stopping just a little below her knees. She was barefoot. Signs of light injury provided by the nicks and bruises particularly around her hands, arms and a little around bits of exposed skin of her torso. More notably however, might be the blindfold obscuring her vision, and the bruise against her jawline where she had made a particularly nasty miscalculation.
The teenager was undeterred, however. Every movement was a step closer towards refining her strengths. Every direction, a chance to discover a new weapon. For now, the rattan sticks would occupy her grips with various random objects, and weapons scattered around her ready to be claimed as she practiced. Randomized. Intentionally tossed while blindfolded so she couldn't immediately identify them, and risked harming herself if she weren't careful.
For well trained eyes, they may recognize the point of the exercise was to better achieve versatility, and to learn to collect information without the use of vision. Eskrima wasn't about just the sticks after all. It was a martial arts that taught the practitioner to utilize everything to their advantage. Every object a new opportunity.
Without hesitation, she was off. The sticks dropped, followed swiftly by a series of quick motions. Dodging. Dancing in fluid movement around objects. Narrowly coming close to severely hurting herself numerous times before she's doing a cartwheel, grabbing a katana by the base of its hilt, before coming up again.
Kendo was not part of her normal training, but she had watched. Forced herself to learn knowing that it may become a necessity at some point if she has nothing else to use. It would be drawn back, swept, step, swing, step, lunging towards an invisible opponent.
The motions would continue, switching between weapons and random objects in this single person fight. However a miscalculation would send her staggering. The pan she had collected thrown away from her so she didn't catch it on something else before falling rather sharply against the tatami mat.
Another bruise to add to the rest. Panting softly with sweat dripping heavily. She's so tired, but -- she's not ready to stop yet.
