Dead is Alive

In the memory of Per Yngve Ohlin "Dead" from Mayhem and Morbid. ATTENTION: I don't post pictures of the cover "Dawn of the Black Hearts". That photo was disrespectful for Per and his family. You can send me questions or comments to discuss about Per, I will reply gladly I don't claim ownership on any of the pictures on here. If you see a picture that you feel like it needs to be credited, please give me a source to link the picture in order for it to be credited properly. I have decided to just ignore/delete any question I receive over if Dead had sexual relations or not. The amount of questions I receive on this is overwhelming, and honestly it's none of anyone's business whether he had relations like that or not. do you think that if it were the other way round, and pelle had found euronymous' dead body in the house .. he would have done the same thing?

Hmm, i'm not really sure. They didn't like each other that much at that point, so I feel Dead probably would have felt some sort of relief if he found Euro's body like that. But, I don't think he would have went so far as to take pictures of it.

I think he would have looked at it for a while, just to study it, though.

i was just reading recent answers and came across the showering/hair q... i never felt his hair was greasy or looked dirty. is this really something people agree on? hmmm im not sure to me his hair always looks very soft and flowy

A lot of people I've talked to think that his hair looks greasy. I think it wasn't extremely greasy, but to be honest in some pictures it does look as if he didn't wash it for a few days. Not all pictures look like that, but it's really evident in some.

Plus your hair can still look soft, even if you took a few days in between showering. It mostly depends on how healthy your hair is.

I think about him all the time... I feel like I can relate to him completely. Sometimes I have dreams where I talk to him and I wish they were real. I feel like I'm slowly becoming like him.

I can understand that you relate to him, many people do. It’s alright to look up to him.

But I will tell you this. Don’t try to force yourself to become like him. Even though many admire him, I think we can all agree that his life was not a good life. He was a depressed individual. Don’t allow yourself to get to that state, please. Dreams are ok, but if you feel like it’s taking over your life or making your personality change, please seek help with someone.

It's alright to find comfort in him, but don't try to become him. If he helps you through bad times, then that's good. Just don't try to change yourself completely.

Did Pelle ever confide his problems in someone? I don't mean that asshole Euronymous..

I don't think he had. His father tried to get him to go to college for art to have a good life, so i'm sure that many people were aware that there were some underlining problems, but I don't think they knew it was that bad.

His family also had little contact with him, and during his funeral asked on how he got the gun, and wanting to know more information on everything.

So it seems that his problems weren't vented out. I guess people didn't think that he would get to that limit, even though he showed signs of there being a possibility and with self-harm.

I dont like to advertise/discuss the DOTBH cover but i noticed some peculiar that wanted to ask ur opinion of. I think its very, very weird that he has his jacket on his LEFT arm, but jacket off on his RIGHT arm, its very clear. why would he do that? especially after cutting his wrists? ALSO.. it has been known that he was found "dead in the bed" however it looks like floorboards to me.. :/ anyways, not suggesting anything just wanted to share &ask for ur input, as as i find it very VERY odd...

Euronymous moved things around before he took a picture of Dead, in order to make the picture look "cooler", and I think that included moving his jacket around in order to show more blood and gore. From Lords of Chaos page 49: " So he (Euronymous) went out and drove to the nearest store to buy a camera to take some pictures of him (Dead), and then he called the police." And also mentioned on Wikipedia, "Instead of calling the police, he went to a shop and bought a disposable camera with which he photographed the body, after re-arranging some items." x , x

x This is a picture of a room from the Mayhem house. I don't know if this was the exact room in which Dead was found in, but it gives you an idea of what it probably looked like. As shown, the walls in the room are made of wood, which gives the impression that he was found on the floor. But as stated from Lords of Chaos page 50: "Dead was sitting half up, with the shotgun on his knee. His brain had fallen out and was lying on the bed."

Do you know if dead was a necrophilaic? Or was interested in it?( not necessarily sexually)

I think he loved the idea of death, rather than dead people themselves.

About how he managed to shoot himself after slitting his wrists - you can cut really deep and as long as you dont hit any of your nervous system you can still use your arms and hands, and its very hard to cut deep enough to damage the nervous system.

I never heard that he disliked to shower before, where did u hear that from? interesting. its one of the signs of severe depression; self neglect.

It isn't really exactly where I heard it from (Although I think I have seen it somewhere, I just cannot find the link right now, sorry about that :/). Some of my followers came into agreement that it was possible that he didn't shower, because his hair looked really dirty at times and greasy. Plus, he did want to look dead, and not showering would help that, and it helps that his stage clothes weren't washed but buried in the ground in order to get that death stence.
