a little spell i did the other day āØ
An easy spell for protection
Ingredients:
A piece of black cloth
A white candle
A red pen
A small amount of salt
A small amount of pepper
Instructions:
Draw a circle on the black cloth with the red pen.
Place the white candle in the center of the circle.
Sprinkle the salt and pepper around the outside of the circle.
Light the white candle.
Close your eyes and focus on your intention.
Say the following spell:
āI am protected by the power of the circle. I am protected by the salt and pepper. I am protected by the light of the candle. I am safe from harm.ā
Open your eyes and gaze at the candle flame for a few minutes.
Extinguish the candle.
Carry the black cloth with you wherever you go for protection.
This spell can be used to protect yourself from negative energy, harm, and danger. It is a simple and effective way to create a protective shield around yourself.
Here are some additional tips for using this spell:
You can use any type of black cloth.
You can use any type of white candle.
You can use any type of red pen.
You can use any type of salt and pepper.
You can say the spell in your own words.
You can visualize the protection spell working.
You can believe in the power of the protection spell.
The more you believe in the power of the protection spell, the more effective it will be.
So many people marry people they donāt like hanging out with.
When they say to marry your best friend theyāre talking about that you need to like hanging out with them. You should probably like just hanging out with the person youāve committed your life to. Because thatās what youāll be doing most of the time.
In most romantic relationships the sex and longingly staring into each others eyes part is a relatively small portion of it. Most of your time is gonna be reading the newspaper in silence or cooking dinner or trying and failing to do a book club with your friends.
While weāre on the topic of praying to deities without necessarily sharing a deep personal relationship with them (it is perfectly normal and most of the time, itās how people go about creating a connection with deities), let me just say: if any of you are artists, writers, painters, or are just generally interested in art, you can feel free to ask Bragi to bless you with inspiration. Invoke him before starting a new creative project, either by praying or simply by calling out his name and asking for help. Itās not disrespectful and nor will it bother him. Bragi is often considered a patron of artists and of creative minds. Therefore, any artistic activity can be carried out in his honor! This will contribute to showing Bragi that you acknowledge his divine presence, thus helping you to build a connection with him.

Be not inhospitable to strangers, lest they be angels in disguise.
my lionsgate spread was so heartfelt & i needed to hear everything the cards said. i love this energy, & i'm definitely using it!!
A Spell for Strengthening & Internal Power.
Incantation:
āCome to me, oh will of my own heart.
Come to me, a kickstart.
Come to me, inspiration that is divine;
lovely is the scent of orange,
reminding me to be courageous.
pink salt,
a purity so essential.
let this be known,
my thoughts & these words hold power;
to manifest, a beautiful, stellar hour.
the motivation from me is building up now,
let this be known,
i know just how.
rosemary, to focus;
i am my own wisdom & fortitude.
within this realm of earth,
my reality is of a grand magnitude.
so, come to me,
blessed, energized power;
by the songs of the sea & trees,
i manifest every single line;
that i may see clearly,
& feel a rise within myself, so deeply & absolutely abundantly.ā
Ingredients:
orange peel
pink salt
rosemary
a paper, to burn the written spell.
Procedure:
hold the cauldron in both hands & feel that it will manifest whatever you need it to.
make sure you are grounded & gather up your energy for the incantation/spell
place all of the herbs & a paper with the written spell in the vessel.
light the herbs & paper carefully.
stand, upright, tall; & with conviction, recite the spell. (do this in a place where you feel the energy of the earth/water replenishing you.)
thank the herbs for lending you their guidance once the herbs begin to ignite & start burning.
sit somewhere comfortable, & feel the shift in energy.
express gratitude for what you are to manifest, as if it is already there!
thank your guides for their presence, & perhaps make an offering of the ashes & scatter them off of a place of elevation so it symbolizes you letting go of control; in turn, letting the energy come back to you.
close the ritual.
friendly reminder that the gods are not stagnant, they're not 2-dimensional, they're not simple. what they are is complex, complicated, and well- rounded beings. a lot of the time they're only viewed for their "good qualities" and what have you. i don't care if i sound like a broken record, acknowledge the divine are complex and inexplicable.
berserk musings
With the way evangelical and fundamentalist Tik-Tok throw around the word "demon" it's very obvious how they want you to feel when confronted with that word- Vulnerable. Helpless. Afraid.
Now I've already touched on the origin of the word "demon" on this blog but today, in terms of any and all malefic entities, I'd like to tell you something-
You are not helpless.
It's true. A malefic entity can be worrying, and bothersome, as well as inconvenient but one thing I've learned in my practice is this- malefic entities are like bears. To scare one off you simply have to convince it that you are the biggest, baddest mother fucker in the woods.
Sometimes you can do this on your own. You can throw down a circle. You can carry some iron, or silver. You can find a holy word that keeps the darkness at bay.
You can do it with help. You can call upon a god. You can summon an angel. You can even make arrangements with another demon.
If you want, you can even pray to the Saints. To the Mother Mary. To Jesus and, yes, even to God- though it certainly doesn't have to be their version.
Helpless?
Please. So many cultures haven't been practicing warding and banishment for centuries, from the mau olhado to Appalachian face jugs, just for some milk-toast, Christian influencer with a Stanley cup to tell their people they are messing with "forces beyond their understanding".
I dunno who needs to hear it, but if you're relying on binding spells and hexes to keep yourself safe, that's fine, but a can of mace is basically just extra strength war water and a restraining order is a binding spell that happens to be legally binding as well. Similarly, ash wood is traditional for both wands and baseball bats. Rub some sage on it and hex a motherfucker's kneecaps if that's what keeps you safe.
The world sucks. Do what you gotta.
