I fear my smear campaign theory might've been right on the nose. Here's what I know from researching:

In 2024, Papergames (Infold) filed a lawsuit against Archosaur Games, the owner of Silent Whispers, for trademark infringement. Archosaur had used registered trademarks like Shining Nikki, Infinity Nikki, and Miracle Nikki as search keywords in WeChat ads to promote their game Life Makeover. Papergames won in 2025.

During the trial, it was found that a company called Tencent is the second largest stockholder of SW.

Tencent is a MASSIVE company that has been known to sink its competitors using vile tactics like smear campaigns, hiring bots, paying off the media, and undermining the public opinion. The current situation is far too similar for it to be a coincidence.

Shanghai originally stepped in to support Ppg, as they contribute a large amount of taxes to the city, but this wasn't enough to stop the campaign

However, Tencent didn't (and couldn't) expect this level of global support. We are quite literally acting as Infold's shield. WE are the only reason this campaign is starting to crumble.

Remember, SW has a Sylus clone and they recently released a werewolf character as well. In recent posts that I've seen, his eye color has changed from green to yellow, and his skin is lighter.

This perfectly explains why the police and Infold's legal department are so involved. This was never just about a group of online bullies, these are PAID TROLLS. Their job was to spread misinformation and try to change the public opinion about LADS.

There is substantial evidence to suggest that SW has also been purchasing likes and views. Here's a post to support this.

The smear campaign is crumbling FAST. Posts and comments are being deleted, police are investigating, and RedNote is actively taking action against those who spread misinformation. Here's a post.

This has always been bigger than a vocal minority disliking Valko. Valko was the scapegoat. This was a full-blown attempt to sink Infold as a company.

DO NOT STOP POSTING! The more we can show our support for Valko, the more this smear campaign crumbles.

Someone comment that Valko mains should be called "Valkyries because y'all are fighters." And I couldn't agree more. Not only is it a play on his name, but as a Record of Ragnarok fan, Fuck Yeah.

The Valkyries are the only reason Humanity has a fighting chance against the Gods. The Valko mains, and rallying comrades, are the only reason Valko and the geography of LaDS have a fighting chance against InFold—for better change within the game.

They say "brevity is wit of the soul," but I hate how limited I am on twt AND bsky without paying irl money for more ranting space.

Some good things that have happened so far!

Chinese supporters have spent money to name a star after Valko

Many Chinese players who originally were against Valko have begun apologising and siding with us.

We have beat Taylor swifts wedding multiple times on X

We only need 40k to complete our petition goal!

Valko’s song is number three on Lads Spotify

Lads ratings have drastically shrunk in the app stores

We crashed one of their mail boxes

Lads X account still has Valko’s trailers up despite having archived them on other platforms. Apparently this is because you can’t archive posts on X so they would have to actually delete them.

And most importantly, Infold has yet to double down!

I’ve been really trying to put myself in Infold’s shoes and try to imagine what their thought process must be right now.

I truly believe the government isn’t trying to shut them down. As far as I’m aware there is no evidence for this rumour much like many others.

If China wanted Infold gone they would be gone.

I believe they likely held an investigation and I believe it’s likely true that Infold is pursuing the people responsible for the smear campaign. They have a history of doing this and it is also just the smart thing to do.

I think it’s likely that they’re keeping a tight lid on things so that they can deal with the perpetrators and figure out their next steps without leaks. If they want to release Valko which is very probably the case, they wouldn’t want to alert the cn crazies to it just yet.

If it is the case that the government isn’t breathing down their necks then this is what I think they should do:

Wait for anime expo to pass. Rocking the boat during this period could possibly cause more damage and put the cosplayers in harms way.

On the 8th make an official statement apologising and reconfirming his release. Following through on the 9th and banning/taking legal action against any crazy fans who throw a fit.

They did this on Rafayels birthday last year when people were sending threats and it was quite effective.

Alternatively they could also put the game on hiatus to wait for the heat to die down on both sides which also isn’t a bad idea. However if they give no comment on Valko’s inclusion global would continue to boycott and likely would abandon the game. I know I probably would.

This is all just speculation and theorising on my part. These thoughts are what currently make the most sense to me. I am not claiming any of this as fact and it shouldn’t be treated as such.
