(iâve only seen That One Boot of the obc and not anything else so i will be comparing/contrasting the actors and actresses in this production to the obc only sorry!)
i got really lucky and got really great orchestra seats at the last minute. i was so close i made eye contact with mlb like twice
act one
-speaking of mlb i didnât know he did wednesday matinees! i had no clue he was gonna be evan until it started lol. when he came out onstage i smiled so wide
-nicole is such?? an amazing actress?? sheâs a lot more subtle than rbj, i thought, but both are amazing
-AND JLT BLEW ME AWAY. sheâs an incredible actress, wonderful facial expressions, always in the moment ugh sheâs so talented i love her
-mlbâs falsetto is so pretty he did a bunch of pretty little riffs
-one of mlbâs ticks is that he shifts to the side of his right foot a lot itâs really cute. he pats his chest a lot and does the hand shake thing that ben did too
-laura did the knee shake during aham and fidgeted a lot with her hands. anxiety gorlâ˘ď¸
-phoenix?? is the perfect alana?? she got the characterization so spot on
-sky talked so fast! like even faster than mlb! gotta go fast! he got the humor down really well though and did this funny little shoulder shake whenever he laughed. great voice too
-mlb cried a lot
-asa was a little angrier than michael. it was weird seeing him so serious since i know heâs such a big goof irl (it was also a cool little parallel with connor since alex seemed a little angrier than mike too)
-alex had really funny deadpan humor. his characterization was so good
-sincerely me was so good i was so blown away. and during the average kind of bond part mlb and alex fully grabbed onto each otherâs heads and put them together
-alexâs voice is amazing!
-laura was super quiet (i think she mightâve been feeling a little down, poor thing) but wow requiem was so powerful i cried
-laura had little red stars on the cuffs of her jeans!
-when mlb sat on connorâs bed at the end of disappear, he kept running his hands over the sheets and once over the pillow. he looked surprised all of a sudden, like he was shocked that he was there
-mlbâs panic attack after the notecard speech was so intense. he grabbed the tie subconsciously and played with it for a bit before looking down and realizing he was holding it.
-larry crying during ywbf makes me cry every time but seeing it live, hoo boy. asa did it beautifully
act two
-âhi iâm evan iâm co-president of the connor projectâ and then deadass did this face đŹ it was so cute
-âtHE inSaNELy cOoL JAreD KLEinMaNâ sky did this dramatic ass turn in his spinny chair what a guy
-alex was so polite when evan interrupted jared. he just stood there with his hands crossed until sky pushed him offstage lmao
-asa was a lot more carefree in tbiag! made me like larry a little bit more (also i love asaâs vibrato)
-i will say this again nicole is an amazing actress good for you was so wonderful wow
-mlbâs anger at alana and jared seemed less anxiety-ridden than benâs and more like he was getting more confident in himself?? idk it was just weird seeing evan so forward
-alex was a lot more harsh in the for forever reprise than mike. made evanâs self-loathing a little more obvious. the letter spans the entire stage in this scene
-ywbf reprise was so intense!! it took my breath away the âyou will be foundâs are so much creepier in this context. kind of puts you in evanâs shoes for a second
-words fail was INCREDIBLE. mlbâs best song in the show for sure. he hit the notes flawlessly while still keeping the emotion it was indescribable ugh just so good
-asa looked like he wanted to console mlb in the beginning of words fail. he was so torn larry loves evan so much it hurt my heart
-the hug in so big/so small was pure and goodâ˘ď¸ i love them
-mlb is so soft the finale was soft. a look of pure peace as the spot faded on him it was good
-i am now a better person
