Dear Nile Dawk, Cdr? Tell us more about your father, what was he like, and what did he do for a living, and what was it like being raised by him?
“He is a man of principles, with family as his most valued priority. He is somewhat passive to emotions, a little cold and stern too. If you meet him for the first time, you would think he is an unapproachable man.
And if you see us standing side-by-side, you wouldn’t have guessed that we are related. He has blue irises, a slightly brighter blue than Erwin’s…brown wavy hair, a fair complexion complete with freckles on his cheeks and neck. I have my mother’s looks the most.
My father works as a mining merchant. He owned a few quarries in the western part within Wall Rose, and usually does business with the nobles and the military; supplying metals for decorative purposes, and sometimes for the production of the 3DMG. Half of my connections to these rich people were made by him. Err, of course…not my entry to the Military Police…that one, I chose and earned it on my own.
Some would say I am lucky to be raised by a man like my father. I grew up without having to go through the trouble of getting food on the table, and every day I got to learn from books, and every night I got the comfort of a bed. I didn’t have to worry much about torn clothes, or lost items, or sicknesses. My father provided them without much hesitation.
The only thing I wished from him was his comfort.”
“I don’t resent him for not showing that he cared for me, though. I knew he is a loving husband and a caring a father; always concerned about others around him. Perhaps he just didn’t know how to express it…perhaps he just didn’t want to show that he cared, so that me and my siblings would grow up to be strong and safe on our own, and stand up again whenever someone pushes us down.”
"I remembered how worried he looked when I joined the military. Yet, he didn’t say a word about it to me. I had a feeling he was disappointed, that I chose a dangerous path instead of helping him flourish the family’s business.
But I tried my best to be a good and strong soldier. I wanted him to be proud of me…I wished he is.”
[ …sorry if i made the father…rather different than nile himself ;w; before this i used to have this unpopular headcanon that nile is irish or half-irish so yeah i thought it’ll be nice to use it here
