Fun comment, but it is important to contemporary law and world history that the Geneva conventiona formalized the laws of war, but Western jurisprudence has held that they are the requirements of morality, not legal positivism. The whole thrust of the Nuremberg trials is that everything the Nazis did was legal by their national law and treaties, but nevertheless they can be condemned because they have violated humanity, not just the law.
