Annie squeezes her eyes shut and bites on her back teeth, trying to stifle the giggles which bubble threateningly in her chest, but she can no longer contain them when Armin somehow manages to fall on top of her, resulting in an awkward tangle of limbs.

She opens her eyes and sees his, and she notices a fierce blush blossom across his porcelain face and tries her hardest to quieten herself. However, it doesn’t matter when she realises that he’s laughing too, his exposed chest rising and falling quickly as he falls against her and buries his face between the crook of her neck. Despite the sweat and the humidity between them, Annie doesn’t mind; he’s pleasantly warm, and she feels safe.

I love you.” Armin soothed her, and when he noticed what he had said his face burned bright red. Annie heard what he said and she almost couldn’t believe it. She wanted to be able to tell him she loved him too, but she couldn’t speak.
