Virginia’s delicate fingers moved swiftly across the flute and the anpu danced. The creatures rose up on their toes and staggered left and right, crashing into each other, armor clashing and ringing. The immortal laughed, the sound high-pitched, uncomfortably close to hysterical. “I think I will dance them all right into the canal.”

“Virginia,” Sophie snapped. “No!”

“No? It’s what I usually do.”

“It’s not necessary,” Sophie said. “Kill them and you become just like them. And you aren’t like them, are you?”

“You have no idea what I am,” Virginia whispered, but she lifted her fingers off the flute.

Virginia smiled at the creatures and twirled her flute, leaving a shimmering note hanging in the air. The creatures dropped their spears, lowered the bridge and then turned and scampered on all fours into a low hutch hidden in the undergrowth. Bloodred eyes regarded the immortal with something like awe as she passed by.

Sooo, have any ships? Marethyu is my favorite character and of course I'm going to have my own ships. I'm just curious as to what yours is. I'm more into the.... homosexual stuff. So most of my ships are pretty gay. You can just guess who I ship you with, heh.

[OOC: wow, I got an ask! To be honest, I haven't updated this blog for almost 2 years... And I probably won't after answering this unless the fandom grows rapidly for some reason (coughmoviecough). I appriciate it nonetheless!Anyways, despite planned on keeping this blog fairly ship free, I actually have a pretty strong Virgina/Marethyu bias. Most of my ships from this series are heterosexual, even though I'm bisexual myself. I also will say that I have a lot of polyamorous ships from SINF (Scatty/Billy/Black Hawk being one of them) as well./shrugs/ ]

Anon, I agree with you completely.  There mostly likely was a way to have avoided those deaths.  But really, that would have required resetting time itself, which, according to a girl I met in Japan, is the worst hell you can through.....

... and I am selfish enough to not put myself through that.  Not to mention the chances of success the first time WITH all those deaths was very low.

All of those who sacrificed their lives for humanity I give thanks to and I miss equally...  Except Dee.  He did his part, of course, but he caused more trouble than good.  It was time for him to die.
