The Ash by Ars Thanea
A trending TikTok video inspired me to talk to my audience on tumblr and spread awareness from one platform to another. A very skinny fitness model showing us herself on an “empty stomach” and also, after she had eaten 5 tacos. I’ve seen this trend go around as a “body positivity” trend. This trend was intended to show women that you are not going to look the exact same after you eat! Bloating is very natural and occurs after eating! But when an almost perfect fitness model does it... it defeats the purpose. It takes away from the “body positivity” element of the trend because not many people look like that girl in the video. She has the body type tons of women strive for but many can’t achieve naturally; super slim waist and a bigger butt. I’m speaking about this because not many people, including myself can relate to this video. It gives women a false narrative of what bloating actually is and this is not what #LoveYourBody is about! Loving your body is knowing that you won’t feel like a fitness model after you eat. THATS OKAY! Normalize this! #LOVEYOURBODY
