However, you’ve made things so they’re written in the small text option and that makes it hard for people with reading disabilities or sight disabilities and other types of disabilities to read what you’ve written. “you really are a total freak, y/n.”
Mrs. Sullivan, your English teacher was droning on as you slowly began to tune out, your mind elsewhere as you stared blanky at the chalkboard. The only thing that could snap you out of your bored trance were the dreaded words, “Now, get into partners.”
Despite you being classified as apart of ‘the popular group’, they all had their own closer friends within the group, Chrissy pairing with Mandy and your only other friend Lauren would obviously pair up with Brandy, the inseperable duo. So here you were, sat alone with your head downcast into your lap due to a flooding feeling of embarrassment that consumed you, causing your fingers to awkwardly spin the rings adorning your fingers around, hoping the ground would swallow you whole.
Suddenly, you heard the slight jangling of metal and leather shifting around as you turned your head to the left, met with the infamous face of Eddie Munson. He was also quite popular in school, but maybe not for the same reasons, his name always being brought up amongst your group in a negative light. You didn’t know him amazingly well but knew he was outgoing for sure. You were certainly intrigued by his fashion sense and his music taste he made very well known as you often overheard the debates Eddie would have amongst his table over who was a better musician. With nothing better to do, you’d often eavesdrop and find yourself agreeing with Eddie most of the time.
“Who would’ve thought,” Eddie smirked, referring to the pairing of you two. Yeah, who would’ve thought? It seemed you two were the only people left in the classroom, so it made sense practically, but you two were the physical embodiment of polar opposites.
Eddie often opted for darker colours in his clothes, dressing himself in chains and metal wherever he could, particularly his plethora of silver rings and wallet chain. He wore the same leather jacket everyday, his wardrobe you could only imagine was purely just black jeans. On days his club would meet up for D&D sessions he’d wear his classic Hellfire Club shirt, whereas other days it’d usually be a faded tee of various bands.
On the other hand, you would usually wear white tennis skirts and various pastel jumpers, coated in gold jewellery from head to toe, several rings, bracelets and necklaces decorating your body as well as glittery hair clips. Your makeup was light, slight blush dusted over your cheeks that enhanced the image of innocence, the dictionary definition of high school popularity.
“Opposites attract,” You smiled and shrugged in response.
But to Eddie, you were unlike the majority of the popular kids, who were currently giving both you and him judgemental glares. You didn’t immediately assume his character off of how he presented himself. Despite Eddie thinking his more darker presentation in his clothes made you indifferent and unopinionated to him, rather, it drew you more interested to him and who he was. You often found yourself gazing at his collection of band tees and admiring his taste of music, similar to your own.
Today, he was wearing a dark grey shirt with a white faded ‘Metallica’ print over the top with an image of the devil in a stark red tone below. It definitely didn’t help his reputation as a satanist cult member, but you thought it looked pretty cool. You owned a shirt band t-shirts of your own, maybe two or three, but never dared wear them out, officially regarding them as pajamas. It wasn’t because you hated them, not at all, but you were too afraid to be outcasted by your peers. So, in the wardrobe they stayed.
You gazed back up from his shirt to his eyes, giving him a gentle smile, “Nice shirt.”
His eyebrows quirked in evident confusion with a short exhale through his mouth like an airy laugh before he spoke, “You listen to Metallica?” You could hear his smile in his words even after you turned your head down to your desk to make notes on the partner assignment.
“Occasionally, yeah,” You responded nonchalantly, as if Eddie’s whole perception of you didn’t just collapse and rebuild itself within seconds. You, y/n y/l/n, listened to... Metallica? That was an unexpected, but welcomed surprise. Emphasis on unexpected.
“Little miss perfect occasionally listens to Metallica? How am I only just learning about this?” He leaned into you as you scribbled notes until his face was within your eyeline. You gave in and tilted your head to look back at him as you let out a small sigh.
You simply shrugged as you mumbled, “Dunno. It’s not really a big deal. I don’t listen to them a lot, only when they’re on the radio.” It was a clear lie, listening to Metallica pretty much at every chance you got once home, dancing around your bedroom with your walkman blasting various rock artists you admired since childhood.
The entirety of the lesson continued as normal. You were informed of the partner assignment instructions as Eddie made a fews side comments that had you stifling laughs under your hand, drawing the attention of your class mates who watched on in horror. Eddie Munson, the schools devil worshipper, was corrupting perfect little y/n.
The bell interrupted Mrs. Sullivan mid-sentence and you breathed a sigh of relief, turning to Eddie, “Are you free afterschool?”
He placed a hand delicately on his chest with simulated amazement and shock, “Are you... asking me on a date?” You scoffed lightheartedly, a smile pushing up your face in response.
“If you consider sitting in my bedroom doing some boring English assignment together romantic then sure, knock yourself out, Munson,” Rising from your seat, you slung your bag over your shoulder, awaiting his answer.
“I’d be honoured.”
So here you were, with Eddie Munson on your front door step as you dug in the pockets of your school bag until you lifted out your keys like a trophy, “Aha! Found them.”
Swinging your front door open, Eddie was met with the overwhelming smell of sweet, floral incense recently burned, adding to the cosier feeling as the lighting throughout your house was a golden yellow, a warm feeling flooded throughout the home. Eddie quickly found the source of the incense as you led him into your bedroom, gold fairy lights strung across your room emitting a soft gold glow. What was even more interesting was your walls coated in posters and magazines cutouts, like an average teen girl sure, but they were of artists Eddie liked, and even owned the same posters he was seeing in your room.
“Woah,” He muttered, turning around on his feet to gaze around. Huge Mötley Crüe and Iron Maiden posters were hung above your bed, and beside that held an Ozzy Osbourne poster above your desk. There was hardly any space left on your walls, most of them being taken up by posters as well as magazine cutouts of Adam Ant, hearts scribbled around him in red sharpie, Eddie chuckling at the sight. Next to your bed sat a record player, several records held in the rack beneath it, “This is not what I imagined your bedroom would be like after saying you only occasionally listened to Metallica. You really are a total freak, y/n.” He meant it endearingly, and you felt it, kind of a silent welcome to his group of friends who have welcomed the term ‘freak’ as a compliment.
Your eyes widened slightly remembering what Eddie was gazing at, “Yeah, I kind of forgot you’d see all-”, your hands gestured around the room, “this.” You hardly thought about it when you invited Eddie over.
“So not only does little miss perfect listen to hard rock,” Eddie began before being interrupted as he let out a slight disgruntled exhale, crouching down to mindlessly flick through your record collection, “But she also lies about it. What would highschool queen and king Chrissy Cunningham and Jason Carver think?” He craned his neck over his shoulder to gaze at you with a fake pained expression, a hand dramatically placed over his heart, “Oh, the horror!” He then turned back around to admire the various records you owned with an amused smirk you couldn’t see.
“Yeah, well, lets keep this a secret between us.” You plopped yourself down on the end of your bed, throwing your bag down next to you in the process as you took out the assignment instructions.
Eddie stood, continuing to gaze around your room and the various decorations, “Oh no, princess, I might have to go to the Hawkins school newspaper about this. This is juicy.” He proceeded to walk up to a specific spot in your room, finger landing on the wall as he decided to point out the cutout, “So... Adam Ant, huh? That’s what does it for you?”
You groaned in embarrassment, cheeks darkening as you hid your face in your hands. Your voice was muffled as you spoke, “Shut up.”
“No, no, no,” He turns to face you, hands held up in the air, “I get it. The dark, curly hair, edgy clothing style, piercing eyes,” he shrugs, “I’d plaster him all over my walls too... Maybe I’m much more of your type then you think, princess.”
Your gaze travelled up to meet his, embarrassment burning your cheeks, “Do you ever stop talking?”
“God, no, never. Why? Would you much rather I be doing something else more- physical- rather than verbal?” He subtly implied, sending you a suggestive gaze, laced with intent to watch you squirm as he flustered you.
A small laugh escaped you, flopping down onto your back as you let out a sigh, eyes boring into the ceiling above you as you couldn’t hold Eddie’s gaze for much longer without fidgeting awkwardly. He was about to continue his teasing further before his eyes caught on something way more interesting than watching you squirm at his words. Displayed in it’s own stand stood a very fancy guitar in the corner of your room.
He gasped, hands outstretched as he walked over to it, cradling it gently in his arms, “I didn’t know you played guitar.”
“Oh, uh, I don’t... really. My dad gifted it to me 2 years ago in hoped I’d follow in his footsteps but it was way too difficult so I got frustrated and dropped it before I even really tried,” You watched as Eddie began to slightly strum his fingers over the strings, creating a gentle sound. It was fascinating to watch him get so absorbed in it.
“I could... teach you if you wanted?” He offered, looking up from the guitar at you with soft eyes.
Laughing slightly, you spoke, “I mean you can try but I’m pretty much incompetent when it comes to that kind of stuff.”
He sat beside you on the end of your bed, gently placing the guitar in your lap. “Alright, so, do you mind if I move your hands in the right spot?” His gaze flickered back up to you as his head was slightly dipped to check the guitar was sat comfortably in your lap.
You looked down at him with a thankful smile, “Of course.”
Eddie practically melted on spot at your openness and sweetness that you directed towards him, despite his reputation in school and particularly amongst your group. You had an endlessly kind heart and it furthered his admiration knowing you were a huge metalhead and frankly, a massive dork. There was a huge comfort in knowing that he was aware of a side of you that no one else knew, a secret between the two of you.
Softly, he placed his hands over your wrists, correcting the position of your hands. He then took your hand placed at the neck of the guitar and individually positioned your fingers over the strings. His touch was notably warm against your hands, with the cold spark sent through his silver rings that would occasionally make contact with your skin.
He then grasped your other hand and used it to strum, before changing the position of your fingers at the top of the guitar to create another gentle sound that blended into the previous. “You okay?” Eddie questioned, his gaze trailing back up to your face through his eyelashes, peering up at your wavering expression.
“Yeah, why?”
“Your hands are slightly trembling, princess,” He proceeded to sit up straight again. Teasingly, he leaned into the side of your face with a mischievous grin, aware he was pushing at your buttons “Am I the Adam Ant of your wildest dreams?” You, in response, whipped your head around to glare at him, your faces dangerously close as you felt his breath graze against your skin.
“You wish, Munson.”
He stared back at you with confidence, “Maybe I do.”
The stare held for a beat longer than it should’ve, the tense atmosphere building as you noticed for the first time how brown his eyes were, staring into your own. Eddie noticed how your chest heaved along with your pattern of breathing. He thought you looked really pretty flustered like this. You always looked pretty. He’d gaze at you from across the lunch hall pretty often and watch how your cheeks rise up your face and your eyes crease as you burst out laughing at something Chrissy said, your hand moving to cover your mouth. It made it 20 times better when Eddie realised you both had more in common than he ever could’ve hoped.
You stuttered to find a distraction, to distract your heart, mostly, from the way it was pounding against your chest, the confusion of these new, unearthed feelings burning your stomach into nausea, “We should... start the assignment- right?” Settling the guitar beside you on the bed you turned your head away to start making notes with assignment in your lap.
Eddie admired your side profile for a few beats before nodding, fetching his own bag from the floor, “Right.”

thank you so much gorgeous ! <33 ive been considering writing for steve and been thinking about robin and nancy but im worried about not getting their like.. characters right in dialogue if that make sense? steve's kind of easy but i'd be so worried about doing robin a disservice because she's such a cool, convoluted character with a lot of depth, but i'd be really open to write for those 3 as well if anyone had any requests:) it might just take longer bc i'd be more careful about capturing their characters right if that makes sense? <3 thank you for asking:)

ahh:( thank you so much for sending this in my lovely. i have terrible eyesight myself (actually went to get my eyes checked today and my prescription is now stronger) with things far away being hard to see but i started using the smaller font because i saw a few other writers using it and thought it looked a lot cleaner for my work but definitely wanted to also make sure that people who struggle with smaller writing can also enjoy my works just as equally<33 thank you so much for sending this in:) this is all definitely a learning experience for me atm

hello hello :) i was editing that fic before posting it and caught onto this actually bc my brain was very much off when writing it. essentially in a state of auto pilot and i was like... hm... confusement? surely not a word. looked it up and its actually considered a real word in the dictionary but even i was thrown through the loop like.... why did i write this? but essentially decided to keep it in because i thought it was a pretty cool accidental discovery but im definitely not going to go out of my way to use it in future fics lol, thank you for catching onto it !! will definitely not be permanently making its way into my vocabulary do not worry

“maybe because i just walked in on you sucking my sisters face off? seriously, get a room!”
You were all waiting in anticipation, the dice tumbling across the table, just recently leaving Mike’s fingers. “Come on, come on, come on!!” Dustin spoke, leaning over the table tensely, waiting for the dice to land still.
And suddenly, with a faint clatter, the dice had landed as Eddie loomed over his perched D&D books to peer at the results of the dice. He huffed in dissapointment, shaking his head, “I’m really sorry guys, but...” Suddenly his face lit up, “It’s a crit hit!” Everyone jumped around in celebration as Eddie continued, “The dracolich keels over with a final, loud war cry that rumbles across the town, his wings going limp as his dead body is motionless on the ground.” Eddie tended to whip out the theatrics for D&D, or, really he was always theatrical and dramatic. You all watched as Eddie grew limp in his throne, imitating the sounds of a dying dragon before finally stilling all movement, tongue stuck out, eyes closed, taking his ‘final breath’.
You all watched with big grins on your face as Gareth yelled out a commemoratively, “We did it!”
“All thanks to Mike,” You smiled, giving the raven-haired boy a high five. Maybe being a stand in for Lucas in Hellfire wasn’t all that bad. Plus, it meant you got to spend more time with Eddie, even if you couldn’t do the things you’d normally do together when alone considering none of the other members of the Hellfire Club knew you were together. You wanted to wait a bit, knowing it would take some time for Dustin to come around to it and even if you told everyone else but Dustin, it would still somehow make its way back to him. So, it was kept a secret for now.
Suddenly, Eddie jolted from his motionless act, hands outstretched as he made a loud, jarring noise. Dustin screamed as he stumbled backwards slightly before recovering, shaking his head as he muttered under his breath, “Asshole.”
You erupted into loud giggles as everyone joined in, “You know you scream like a girl, Dusty?”
“Shut up,” He mumbled in response to you.
Everyone slowly began to filter out the room overtime, all heading back home until it was only you, Mike, Dustin and Eddie left. That was, until Mike scratched the back of his neck, rising from his seat, “Alright, I think my mom probably wants me back home soon for dinner so I’ll see you all later.”
“See ya tomorrow, mommy’s boy,” Eddie teased, waggling his fingers ‘goodbye’.
Once Mike left and conversation picked back up, your heard your little brother mutter, “Shit,” with wide eyes.
“What?” You questioned.
“Mike left his bag behind. One sec,” Picking up the dark green and brown backpack, Dustin raced out the door, muttering a string of ‘shit’ and ‘fuck’, even the occassional ‘shitty fuck shit fuck fuck’.
You scoffed, rolling your eyes in amusement. “That kid’s really something,” you smiled.
“Sure is,” Eddie shrugged, looking back at you with an equally wide grin.
“Sooooo,” You looked around the room awkwardly, patting the palms of your hands against your thighs, not sure of what to say.
“So,” Eddie leaned back in his throne, his legs shifting slightly as he sat back to spread a little wider, a more mischevious look on his face as he stared at your avoiding gaze. He patted his lap as you flickered your eyes back to him with confusement. “Come on,” he encouraged, “Dustin will be awhile. It’ll be fine.”
“I’m not sure, Eddie,” You reasoned, nervously playing with the loose string of your cardigan.
“Come on, princess,” He furthered, a single eyebrow raised in expectancy, “I’ve missed you all day. Just a quick kiss- please?” You gave in. How could you say no to Eddie Munson?
You hesistantly stood up with a slight sigh, making your way over to Eddie as you sat sideways on one of his thighs, both your arms wrapped around his neck as your foreheads pressed against one anothers, his hot breath blanketing the flesh of your cheek. “I missed you too,” You sighed in relief, craning your neck to further lean into Eddie as your lips connected.
Eddie’s hands fell to your waist, giving you a slight squeeze as you let out a slight yelp into his mouth before relaxing back into his touch. One of your hands that settled on his back, elbow pressed against the side of his neck, found its way into his curly mop of hair, fingernails delicately scraping over his scalp with gentle touch. As Eddie pulled you closer into him by your waist, you could feel his heart hammering against your chest due to the proximity.
Suddenly, you heard the latch of the door sound out as it swung open with a squeak followed by an equally squeaky scream, “AAAH!”
You head whipped around in panic, parting from Eddie as you watched Dustin with a colour-drained face and jaw hung loose, eyes blown wide, spin around on his heel before slapping his hands over his eyes, several disgusted noises similar to that of gagging erupting from his throat.
“Please, for the love of GOD, someone tell me what I just walked in on.”
“Well, we were actually just making ou-” Eddie was cut off.
“IT WAS RHETORICAL.”
Quickly, you hopped off of Eddie’s lap, much to his dismay as you spoke, “Alright, you can turn around now, it’s fine.”
As Dustin turned back around with a horrified expression, Eddie smirked, clearly unphased as he was still slumped confidently in his throne, “Your sister’s right, you really do scream like a little girl, Henderson.”
“Oh I wonder why!” He sarcastically retorted with slight playful aggression, but a hint of a serious tone, “Oh yeah! Maybe because I just walked in on you sucking my sister’s face off? Seriously, get a room!” Dustin spoke fast and hard, his eyebrows downturned and knit together in disbelief.
Eddie began, “Well, we thought we had one- hence the.. face sucki-”
“Alright alright I don’t need a play by play. God,” Dustin slid his hands down his face dramatically, emitting a loud groan of annoyance before uncovering his face again, “So how long has-” He pulled a disgusted face as he flickered his index finger between the two of you, “this- been going on?”
“A few months,” You admitted.
“I’m sorry? A few MONTHS?”
“Yep.”
Dustin outstretched his hands as a ‘stop’ motion, eyes closed as he tried to figure out the situation, “Hold up so let me get this straight,” His eyes cracked open as he pointed an accusatory finger at you, “You lied to me, your dearest brother, for months?”
“Welllll,” Rocking on your heels awkwardly, you looked over to your disgruntled brother, “It’s not technically lying. Just... withholding the truth.”
His hands flail up into the air, “Oh and that makes it so much better, thank you.”
Eddie reinvolved himself into the conversation, “Would you rather I lied to you and told you I wasn’t sucking your sisters face off?”
“Gross, dude,” Dustin exclaimed, his face contorting into disgust.
“Your words, man, not mine.” Eddie was clearly getting a kick out of the situation, and you were growing to find the humour in it. As much as Dustin seemed angry, which he probably was partly, he was just more confused and would soon come around to the concept of you and Eddie.
“Disgusting,” Dustin remarked at Eddie.
Hopefully.
“Come on, Dusty, let’s go home.” Deciding to mess with him a little longer, you walked back up to Eddie as Dustin watched on with a confused expression drawing on his face. Leaning into Eddie, you gave him a peck on the cheek as you smiled, “See you tomorrow, Ed.”
“Bye darling,” He played along, sending you a wink that he purposefully made sure Dustin could see.
Dustin scoffed in disbelief at the display, “Seriously?! Have you not scarred your little brother enough for one night? How much more of this do I have to endure?”
“Well,” Eddie began, leaning forward in his throne with a teasing tone, his eyes boring into Dustin, “Now that you finally know about it? Forever, little man.”
Your little brother threw his head back, a loud groan heaving from his chest, similar to that of a tantrum of a little child. Standing back upright he shook his head in incredulity, “I can’t believe this shit.”
“Hey!” Eddie called out to Dustin as he was halfway through the doorway before Dustin turned back around hesitantly. Knowingly, with a devilish smirk, Eddie finished with, “You kiss your mother with that mouth?”
“Oh. My. God.” The younger boy cried out, “I never want to hear the word ‘kiss’ ever again.”
