I think I had one of those rhetorical "perfect moments" tonight. It was somewhere between the beats of my heart as I realized that I couldn't hear the lyrics any more over the roar of the crowd singing them and the bass of the drum beating right next to my ear. I was in a crowd containing almost exclusively people I'd never met, and in that one moment, I realized that I didn't come to see the band. I went to be the crowd.
