I don't like when payjay is protraied as not happy because they are very happy together even with their various problems they're best friends and they're not toxic or like in any way dislike eachother no matter the context, paper mentions oj not appreciating him because he doesn't feel like they're actually equals not because he hates oj and oj doesnt react the way he does because he hates paper it's because he doesn't know HOW to assess that kind of situation because he doesn't encounter it at all. and if you don't know how to comfort someone you do care about you will get nervous and try to listen to them first before saying something that could harm them in some way because you care about them, not because you don't want to help them. he still thinks he's equals with paper. payjay isn't always happy but they're un-happy in the way that no matter how hard they try they just CANT communicate, because they have such different ways of doing it and haven't made a way to fix that issue because they're so busy with everything else and working together on the hotel that they can't have that time to realize they don't actually know what they are saying to eachother, oj doesnt understand papers, and paper doesn't understand ojs point of view. that's the only way they aren't happy, they always find a way to momentarily fix said issue but they don't have time to actually fully make adjustments to said system, so it just repeats and they get no where making them repeat it over and over.

oj caressss. he cares so so much. he can't say it verbally because he doesn't know how too. he turns everything into annoyance and can complain about it without it feeling like he's dumping his worries onto others. oj complains so much because 1. contestants in general are annouing but 2. he can express his grieving to paper and not feel like he's telling paper everything he cares so deeply about and is worried about so he sounds annoyed to mask it. he doesn't wana care because he's the hotel manager. he's the gouy. he has to look after everyone else and doesn't want others looking after him brcause then what kind of leader would he be, he doesn't have many hobbies, he puts EVERYTHING into his leading others. he can't afford to care.

paper can care and show that but oj seems to only care for himself because he doesn't know how to express himself in a meaningful way, because he needs to be normal guy for others. or else he's letting them down

paper knows when ojs uncomfortable:( and oj knows when paper is, they bounce off eachother so well

paper has a hard time with morality. who he hates, who he loves deeply, any nuance and hes disturbed. she has built up resentment for oj and such but would never ever ever outwardly say everything, everytime hes done it it either fixes nothing or ruins it all. there are people he doesnt care for, but if its someone she does deeply love and cherish she simply cannot bring himself to be upset in the moment. maybe bring it up months or years later but its just not worth the conflict

a few notes:

i discovered that trophy is the hardest for me to draw (so far) mostly because of his big ass head 💀 i tried to redraw that specific expression but it's hard to get right :(

i really like this doodle page style, will do more in the future :) all of my doodles from now on will have the same bg color yippie!!
