((So a lot of you probably saw this coming due to my recent inactivity, but what with finals coming up and the semester FINALLY winding down, I have a ton on my plate, so I'll be on temporary hiatus for probably the next week or two.  I love you guys and thank you so much for your patience!! <33))

You shrug a little and close the car door, locking it up and leading her up to the front door. “I’m not sure if he’s home or out with his boyfriend right now, or even working. I did text him that we would be here…” You imagined that if you saw Dave he would at least introduce himself or come say hello, but if he didn’t that was alright. You could always introduce Kanaya to him later. 

You fish out your keys and unlock the multiple locks on the door before leading Kanaya inside. The house itself was huge, the size of a mini-mansion and custom-built for Dave.

You freeze for a moment, your heart pounding.  "Did..boyfriend?" you repeat.  She replies in the affirmative, looking at you a bit warily, and you grin.  "That's wonderful!~  I'm happy for him."  There's uncharacteristically unrestrained brightness in your voice in expression.  Sure, it didn't guarantee they hadn't filled some sort of quadrant other than the pale one in the past, but the important thing was that Rose was currently not in a relationship with the timey-wimey Strider human.   

You follow Rose inside, your happiness turning not quite as obviously exuberant as you look around.  It's massive for sure and reminds you of what little you saw of Vriska's or Feferi's or even Eridan's hive.  "This is lovely," you say.

Well. Except for the clashing palette in the living room.  But you hold your tongue.
