BATMAN: BUMP IN THE NIGHT is a fanfiction actual play podcast where me and @partyofonepod tell unofficial Batman stories in a continuity that starts with the base premise of "what if RPattz Batman had to deal with Draculas as well as Mr. Freeze". We're making the world up as we go and drawing inspiration from Matt Reeves's The Batman, Scott Snyder's Zero Year, Batman: The Animated Series, Ram V's Gotham Nocturne, and Schumacher's Batman & Robin, plus monster-of-the-week stuff like The X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Every episode is a free-form mystery where one host plays Batman (or another vigilante), and the other host controls the city of Gotham, the clues, and the NPCs involved in it. Sometimes we also have guests on to play other characters, or to GM their own mystery!

I decided that this would be titled “Rulan” rather than “Jin Ling”, with the thought that the setting of the painting, somewhere in Koi Tower, is one where people are more likely to call him Jin Rulan. I also considered titling it “(New) Sect Leader Jin” but I thought that would be confusing, and “Rulan” better parallels the original painting title.

Do you know how hard it is to find a reference for Fairy? I liked the fluffy slightly dopey (for a husky) looking version in the live action drama, only turned up two blurry dog images in my searches (everything else was a winged humanoid fairy), so went looking on Pexel for “red husky” to try and get some better reference so she didn’t look too whack. I'M FUNDRAISING FOR TOP SURGERY!

After being rejected by three different surgeons (because I'm fat), I've finally found someone who will do the procedure! The bad news is that they're in california (I'm in florida) and don't take my insurance, so everything will be out of pocket, including plane tickets.

I'm able to save some from my full time job and my parents are helping me pay some of it, but the total cost of the surgery is almost half of my yearly income so I'm trying to get a big chunk of it covered by fundraising!
