Let me tell you about: Sayaka Miki

I want to talk about Sayaka Miki. 

During the intermission between Parts 1 and 2 of the Madoka Movies, I heard someone behind me say 

“I know she’s 13, but it’s just a boy, she didn’t need to get upset.”

followed by

“It doesn’t matter if your soul is out of your body- it’s still there, it’s not that big of a deal.”

I hear these a lot when people talk about Sayaka, and I feel like these people are missing one of the most fundamental and interesting aspects of Sayaka’s character.

And since she’s my favorite character, I want to talk about her.
