"Being gay is a choice. Don't put it in kids media."
People have a problem with queerness in kids media because they can't comprehend that sexual attraction is not the same as romantic attraction. The name "Sex-uality" fucked our pr big time.
Whenever they see a gay character, they immediately think, "they want that child to think about sex" when that's literally just you (an adult) being a creep.
Religion is great until someone tells you to your face that the deep love and companionship you feel for someone is a sin greater than murder.
Objectifying gay people gets to a point.
Being cishet and indulging in queer media, even preferring it, is fine.
However. It does reach a point sometimes where I wonder if you're actually interested in how queerness affects storytelling and how it's told differently than straight romance. Hell, even if you just enjoying the story regardless of gender and don't care for the deep stuff.
... Or if you just get off on watching gay people have sex and letting everybody know that.
What cracks me up is when someone uses a "big" word (that you can guess the meaning using context clues) while addressing an issue and all of a sudden people think it's a buzz word.
No Sasha, you're just illiterate.
"I HATE this ship, but cute art tho!"
Those comments always pissed me off. The first part is so unnecessary and negative for NO REASON. You don't have to be an asshole to give a compliment. Just say the art is good and move on with your life.
It's always "Not that deep" but genuinely what makes you think starting a compliment like that is okay? That's like saying "I HATE those shoes, but they look good on you though".
YOU'RE STILL INSULTING ME AND MY CHOICE OF FOOTWARE!!!! JUST BECAUSE YOU ADDED A SMILE AT THE END DOESN'T MAKE IT A COMPLIMENT!!!!! It's so passive aggressive.
