I just want to say I wish this is accurate, it's been a hot minute since I wrote about him but I'm trying to get back into it. Anyways I hope you enjoy 👀
"Stay still."
If only it was that simple. You knew you needed the antibiotics but every time that needle in his hand drew near terror ran threw your veins instead of the medicine. Anton was probably getting tired of your shenanigans, it was obvious with the way he was looking at you. It wasn't even like you meant to pull away each time, by the time you realize its already to late to stop.
"Are you absolutely positive that I need this?"
You already knew the answer. A wound this bad couldn't be treated without the person passing out in pain and if it were to be infected? Forget it.
His eyebrows raised and gave you a look that seemed to be asking if you were serious. Anton gripped your lower leg, bringing it onto his lap. The needle in his hand was closer than ever, the tip of the syringe glistened in the dingy warm lights that the motel had to offer. Your heart dropped to what felt like your stomach, you could kill people and not think twice about it, get shot at and laugh it off the next day but what you could not do was needles.
The thought of the metal piercing your vein made you shiver in disgust, this was irrational and you knew it. But how could you get over this fear that you had for decades? And with him restraining you? It all made you sick to your stomach.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a sharp concentrated pain in your lower leg, you weren't surprised he did it but you were anything but ready. You don't remember what happened next because shortly after your vision went black. When you regained conciseness your leg was already bandaged, Anton was sitting next to you seemingly looking at nothing. The useless ceiling fan was all the noise you could hear in the room, his breathing was silent and so was yours.
Although you wouldn't admit this you were thankful that he did it instead of just drawing it out and actually restraining you like the doctors typically did. But what happened was still embarrassing, working with him made you feel like you needed to put on a tough guy act, nothing could bother you or make you show any real emotions that could hinder whatever you had to do. Just by looking at him you couldn't tell what he was thinking or what he thought of you and that scared you. You knew he could just kill you and he wouldn't care the slightest bit but for some reason you still liked being around him.
It was still nice to has some for of companionship even if it was with some psychopath that couldn't reciprocate your feelings, you knew that made you pathetic but you didn't care.
"I just want to say I'm sorry for earlier."
He looked over to you with a stoic expression but with a hint of confusion hidden in his.
"Sorry? What are you sorry for?" Anton asked.
How could he seriously not know what your talking about? You didn't exactly make it easy for him to help you and to top it all off you passed out for Christ's sake.
"You were trying to help me but I was being difficult for you and not to mention I passed out from just a needle poking me."
"You don't need to apologize."
That was all he said before reaching over and taking your legs in his lap, his large hand stroked your shins with surprising gentleness. If this was his way of trying to get you calm down it wasn't working but at the same time you weren't complaining.
"What are you doing?"
He didn't stop his actions as he answered your question.
"I don't need you passing out again. Calm down."
Was that seriously supposed to make you calm down? But on the other hand questioning everything he said was not helping either. If he was going to kill you he would have done it already, maybe he could look past this flaw. You knew it wasn't something that could get either of you killed but it was still a flaw and letting him be aware of that was scary for obvious reasons. But he didn't seemed to mind? It surprised you but you weren't complaining.
His touch was nice if you really thought about it and the warmth coming from his hand made you calm down slightly. Letting your guard down after something like that was almost impossible but with how relaxed he was about it, it was hard to not let your walls down.
"Do you really not care?" You questioned with slight disbelief.
"I don't have a reason to care."
Anton's cold words did actually bring peace to your mind, he actually didn't care about your weakness in the slightest. With that you took your legs out of his lap and repositioned yourself to be laying beside him with your back against the headboard of the bed. Your bare legs were touching his rough jeans, normally you would have felt exposed but right now you felt closer than ever to him. When you got shot he had to take your pants off and in that moment it was your biggest worry and not that you were actively bleeding. That was foolish, you knew that, but now you didn't care that you are only in your underwear and shirt.
It was different now, he didn't care so you didn't either.
Slowly you lowered your head on his shoulder, he didn't move an inch. His face was probably the same as before, calm and indifferent to what was happening. Despite the orange lighting from the old lights you felt rather sleepy, it was nice to be by him like this. Sure at first it was strange but now it felt right where you belonged. Close to him, right by his side, even if it couldn't last forever it was worth it, it was worth it even if he didn't feel the same way you did.
