what were you doing the first time you ever heard a taylor swift song? I was sat on msn after school and someone’s status was the music they were listening to. Teardrops on my Guitar was clearly on repeat, I was intrigued. The rest is history.

I was 13 years old in dance class, and the teacher played “Teardrops On My Guitar.” I liked the song, so I asked who the artist was, and my teacher said “Taylor Swift” - which meant nothing to me at the time. But then Fearless had just come out, and I recognized Taylor’s name from that one song I liked…so then I bought the Fearless album. I turn 23 in exactly 1 week.

I also heard You Belong With Me first…I lived in Hawaii for a long time then Korea and they never played country but YBWM had crossed over into pop stations as well. But when I moved to Kansas, the rest fell into place and that’s how I became a Swiftie!!!

I was 18 walking through the airport heading to Disney World with my parents when I heard Fifteen playing throughout the terminals and I was in love. I’m 29 now wow time just flies.

I embarrassingly have two different times:

The first, I was riding the bus in fifth or sixth grade, and sitting by my best friend of the time. She’d always share one earphone with me. She told me she was into artists no one has ever heard of, and unreleased songs, and she played I’d lie and Your Anything. I fell in love. She didn’t tell me the singer, because she didn’t like when her unknown artists got big (LOL SORRY HUN).

THEN

There’s the release of Our Song on the radio, and this singer Taylor Swift, and WOW she became my absolute favorite.

Imagine my surprise when they were the same person???

Ten year old me was mind blown and committed for the rest of her life.

I honestly cannot remember what I was doing exactly when I first heard a Taylor song.. but I do remember the first song I heard from her. Teardrops On My Guitar was the first song I ever heard and I know that my sister was the one who showed it to me. She and a friend of hers at the time had bought the CD and my sister would play it from time to time. Y’all that was like 10 years ago! I’m almost 22!! I’ve been a fan ever since!! ❤️
