omg wait though let’s unpack the mermaid fishbowl scene like. the ariel references… ariel always wanted to be where the people were, she wanted something that she had to give up part of her life for……… and when you connect that to the fishbowl scene like… it’s literally taylor’s life with fame. she’s always in this fishbowl and (as per the lucky one) maybe she feels like she wants to be where all the other people are, where she isn’t under a microscope… she wants to be outside the fish bowl. but her lover joined her in the fish bowl, he came in with her and said you don’t have to give up your life to be with me, i’ll be here with you and then you won’t be alone. and they’re in the fishbowl together and now im crying because that is such a beautiful metaphor oh my god
