{ :) hi. hello. I was supposed to put things on this blog today. I didn’t. :(
I have them drafted tho so they should go up tomorrow. I wanted to put out some muse/meme stuff and dip my toes back into writing now that my semester is over but i got sidetracked with family. here’s hoping i can get Levi but up to some shenanigans tho}
deepseaxhunter:
A new day. A cooler day, so the wyrm found himself feeling comfortable even in the midday sun. Lying on his side, Levi let his tail slide back and forth to create arcs in the sand. The waves had already hidden away the trail of foot prints leading to Levi’s little spot of heaven, giving the appearance of the wyrm simply materializing from the sand. Tentacles curled and uncurled in the sand, eventually coming to lay still as he entered a light doze. But, light as it was, Levi hadn’t noticed when Char made his way back onto the beach. The wyrms’ gentle breathing in time with the swell and crash of the waves.
The only indication that he might be awake at all would be the way his tail lifted and flumped back down in the sand. Weight shifted and Levi rolled onto his stomach, tentacles briefly curling and uncurling as they relocated around his back and sides. Unlike a cephalopod, Levi’s tentacles had a small bit of bone structure to them, so laying over top of the appendages would eventually grow too uncomfortable for him to nap comfortably.
A deep inhale, and an even deeper exhale nearly flattened the content leviathans form into his little sand indent.
Fins perked, and eyes slipped open. He idly scanned the beach, before seafoam eyes landed on the hedgehog again. Again. Curious. Levi had never seen this land dweller on the beach before. Granted, He hadn’t been coming to the beach for too long but here’s the same hedgehog two days in a row.
And again, he was silent. Just sitting there, enjoying the beach. Or, so Levi presumed. Levi had a hard time understanding land dwellers, could never tell what they were thinking just by looking at them, not like other land walkers could anyway.
He huffed when their eyes met, and the wyrm closed his eyes to the hedgehog.
This time, far more aware of himself and his surroundings, and perhaps even riding on the fact that there might be another presence on the beach today, Char kept his steps light, and gaze ever-searching. And much like the time before, he found the wrym, once again, lazing atop the warm sands, in near the identical spot as the day prior. So, this was a claimed location it seemed? Yet, much like before, Char wasn’t chased off. Wasn’t so much as given a second glance after the aquatic Mobian had finally taken notice, not long after the hedgehog had settled himself.
It also meant that whoever the other happened to be, they came here earlier still than Char had today. So, he would try again, to beat them to this area tomorrow.
But, unlike the day before, Char found most of his attention diverted from the peaceful air, and the breath taking scenic view of the ocean. No, his focus had found new purpose. New hope in the form of the silent company of the other. Though, if this were going to be a reoccuring happenstance, perhaps he should leave gifts, expressing his thanks for the other allowing him the solace of joining him here in this isolated area. The last thing Char wanted to be, was a bother. So, showing his gratitude in the form of gifts felt safer than approaching the other as they sat currently.
His skin was reddened from sitting out so long in the sun the day prior, so today, he had settled himself in the shade of one of the nearer palm trees, his back leaned against the bark of it. Frequently, he found his gaze wandering to the wrym, both curious, and patient. Both appreciating the distance, yet yearning to close it, to perhaps learn something of the other. And it happened to be one of those wandering gazes that led him to meeting the others eyes.
Ah, so he’d been noticed, had he?
The small huff, the way the other acted as if he were put off, it only further solidified Char’s next plan of action.
Tomorrow, he would come earlier still, and leave some gifts in the other’s resting spot in the hopes they would be well recieved. In the hopes that, maybe, he could share this little slice of heaven with the ocean-dwelling being a bit longer still.
It was a nice view. And a nice place to come when one needed to be alone, or to merely appreciate the small things life had to offer. Perhaps this could become routine to him? A place that he could wander to when the stress of everyday living became too much to bear. A place he could find solace in, when it felt the world, even fate itself was entirely against him.
Everyone needed time to reflect. And should he find his gifts well received, Char had hopes that, maybe, he might find a friend in the silent stranger. Even if they never happened to interact. Just having him here? It soothed Char. To know that, while yes, he was alone…at the same time, he wasn’t truly alone.
The sun extended beyond the reach of the shade his spot had offered. And, another difference this day?
Char happened to be the one to leave first this time, just after the sun had begun it’s descent to paint the world in all it’s magical colors.
When it came time for the wyrm to return to the sea, he found himself surprised to be the last to leave. Perhaps the other had someplace to be? Well. Whatever the reason, it was certainly none of Levi's business, regardless of how curious he found himself getting.
It wasn't often that he had company sunbathing and with days worth of company the leviathan found himself growing painfully curious.
Regardless, he returned to the waters, to the depths he called home.
~~
By the next morning, Levi was sluggish as his head broke the surface of the water. He could sense rain was coming, so today would be the last sunny day to go sunbathing (not that rain bothered him, quite the opposite actually).
But something gave him pause as he let the waves wash him ashore of the beach; a small basket wedged into the sandy indent he had carved for himself.
Waterlogged and not yet accustomed to the weight of gravity on dry land made Levis already cautious approach slow. Beyond the basket, the hedgehog's form caught Levi's eyes as he sat napping under a tree.
He'd beaten Levi to the beach today.
Within the basket sat little packages snacks, some bottled drinks. All in random assortments, as if the other weren't sure what to include and what not to include. A few sugary things, some that didnt look sugary, many of them things Levi had no clue what they might be.
With one last glance at the hedgehogs sleeping form, Levi curled himself around the basket to close inspect the contents. Eventually, he found himself a packaged pastry to munch on; the plush, custard filled treat yielding all to easily to his pointed teeth.
Settling into the sand, Levi's tentacles curled and twisted as he enjoyed the little snack. When his eyes opened again, they locked onto a smooth, almost iridescent shell sitting in the wake of the waves.
It was enough to give him a small idea.
In return for the basket of treats, Levi dug through the sand around him for more of the pretty little shells. Eventually, he'd gathered respectable collection to leave next to the sleeping hedgehog before he returned to his little sunbathing spot.
The only indication that it was Levi was the massive trail in the sand left by his tail.
@a-bitter-resentment
As much as he touted his dislike of the surface (the sun, the heat, etc) Levi had to admit that if the surface was good for anything other than treasure hunting, it would be sunbathing. The sand conforming to his body as he laid in the sun, and the warmth of the sun lulling him into a light nap. Only in the earliest mornings or late afternoon could he really enjoy the sun’s warmth. His hide was meant for the freezing deep sea atmosphere and too much time spent in the sun meant a terrible burn. He’ll never understand what drives land dwellers to sit in the sun’s rays all day long.
Levi was at least grateful he’d managed to find a beach secluded enough to enjoy his sunbathing alone, in peace. Without any noisy surface dwellers screaming and splashing about in the ocean waves or coming to see if he was some washed up dead thing.
At least for a days that is.
Fins twitched at the sound of shifting sands. An eye peeked open, catching the sight of a land dweller coming to a stop a distance away from the sunbathing leviathan, and an even greater distance from the shoreline. A hedgehog, wearing all black and sticking out against the lighter colored sand in a way that made Levi’s eyes hurt.
When he didn’t to notice or be otherwise interested in the wyrm, Levi simply closed his eyes and rolled onto his side, his massive tail pulling away from the waves and creating an arc in the sand.
When he rolled back over an hour later, the hedgehog was still there. Sitting in the sand, staring at the sea. Levi hadn’t heard him make a noise once the entire hour. Curious. He settled back into the sand, this time on his belly. And for hours more, he lay in silence, barely passing the other another glance before the first night chill broke his sun-induced snooze. He stretched, using his tail to counter balance his upward movement and turned to the waves once more to return home. As he slipped under the first wave to break, he could still see the hedgehog sitting there on the beach. Levi was grateful for the silence, at least.

What type of Villain Would You Be?
*slides in here* Welp it’s been months! Lookin like that little pause I intended to take wound up being longer than I wanted it to be lol
Slowly getting back into wanting to write again, curtesy of some very patient friends. So i’m gonna try and get back into the swing of things on my blogs, however slow it may be. My next semester is coming up so with what’s looking like less time to draw, maybe I’ll have more motivation to write.
ooc
Hey so im sure most people following here have noticed my activity has gone from low to practically non-existent. Sorry about that! Im pretty sure im currently burnt out with writing, so I’ve been mostly over on my art blog cranking out art instead. Safe to say I should put the rp blogs on a bit of a hiatus until I can write again.
This’ll get reblogged to my other rp blogs too, so it’s not just Bites.
((I should do....some spring cleaning on this blog :/))

Unused to being lead, the wyrm nearly tripped over his own feet in those first few steps, but the rhythm Arrow began to set up for them was easy to memorize. Still, Levi frequently let his eyes dart down to make sure his feet weren’t out of place or about step down on Arrows’ own. Behind him, Levi had taken to lifting his tail a few inches off the ground.
It was a rather large appendage, one he tripped on frequently upon his first few instances on land. He’d hate to make an embarrassment of himself by causing them both to trip over it.
The longer they swayed, moving about the immediate space, the more Levi’s confidence seemed to grow. His glances downward and around them to keep his larger body in check grew less and less nervous, a small smile making its way onto his own beak.
Perhaps Arrow was right, this didn’t seem so hard after all. The look was passed on towards Arrow, the fins on his head perking as they settled further into the small dance.
{➹} – WHILE HE LOOKED amused by the few stumbles on Levi’s part, no part of the hero was judging those little slip ups. Everyone had to start somewhere after all, and given what the other had said about not being accustomed to moving in such a manner on land, Arrow was already impressed. Not just by how quickly the other was picking up on the impromptu routine but how they were willing to continue in their smooth path around the room with him.
It was a tad flattering, really, but that was a thought the hedgehog kept to himself, choosing instead to smile back when Levi looked at him. Delight was evident in his voice, even if he had tried to hide it. “See? ‘S not so bad.”
Tempted as he was to change the routine a little bit, the hero decided against it for the moment, namely because he didn’t want to throw his partner for a loop. Not just yet. He did, however, pick up the pace just a little. Not much, still letting the two of them go about their sway at a leisurely pace, but enough to be noticed. Fortunately, despite his talents, that was as fast as the hedgehog planned to go.
Naturally the hero had no troubles adjusting to the new tempo, in fact he seemed to thrive with the new momentum with a bolden smile.
Whether the hedgehog intended to boost the wyrms confidence or not, Levi couldn’t tell. Maybe he was just....nice. Friendly, even, and that was it. His smaller eyes wandered as their dance continued, taking the time to appreciate the scenery around them, trying to see it through the land-dwellers eyes At least, as best he could. As the pace picked up, so too did the leviathans’ stumbles. While he had the foot pattern down, the timing had now changed and once more required his full attention. But this time he was quicker to match the hedgehog, the fins about his body twitching eagerly as they moved. “No...no its not..” He was earnestly mystified as he continued to grin. Levi just couldn’t help it; he was genuinely having fun, even if this was just the basics of how land dwellers danced. It was nice, maybe he could return the favor for the hedgehog sometime. An experience for an experience. “You seem...at home with this. Do you do this often?” Eyes settled back on the hedgehogs features, the tips of his tentacle absentmindedly curling around the wyrms shoulders, the ones framing his face curling around his biceps.
