i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
Laying there, like a depraved Roman Emperor of old
That's just Dionysus.
> I am recommended a feminist historical romance
> I ask whether itâs actually feminist, or whether itâs a story about how patriarchy is good as long as the patriarch is benevolent
> they donât understand
> I describe the common trope in faux-feminist historical romance where the female lead is able to âescapeâ the sexism of her time simply by marrying the rare good man who respects womenâ as if patriarchy is a problem of abusive individuals, rather than an inherently abusive system. As if all the issues in patriarchy go away if the man you marry is Nice. As if âpatriarchal systems can actually work well when the patriarch is kind and loves you uwuâ is a bold feminist statement, instead of the cornerstone of inherently reactionary tradwife beliefs about gender roles.

terrifying when you watch a movie or a show or whatever & youre like that was fun but it felt a little redundant they didnt need to hammer the point home that much & then you go online & theres thousands of people going that was so weird i did not get it what did that mean google.com ending explained please?
I know that I have an issue with overexplaining myself in books. I know it can get repetitive, and I cut so much more than makes it into the final draft.
And I do this because I have grown up in a world where I can say dinner is my magic onion secret surprise (the surprise is onions) eight times, and still have someone sit down, take a bite, and then ask me if there are onions in there.
i miss u so much (pre ai internet)
temporary impairment be damned i have to draw ryland grace
carrying on because you donât have any other option but to go on and deal with whatever it is youâre dealing with is still a brave thing. even when being brave is your only option. it doesnât make you weaker if some problems sometimes feel unbearable, just remember you donât have to constantly carry everything on your own, and you can and should reach out for help, and doing so doesnât make you any less brave

âBecause the truth is, tech doesnât have an image problem. It doesnât have a message problem. It has an intention problem. Whatâs wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasnât successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. Whatâs wrong is that heâs trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product thatâs designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isnât that you havenât told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.â

On another note, I think the reason I prefer Jason's butt to Dick's is because Dick is such an obvious slut about it. You dont even notice Jason's at first, but Dick's is just right in your face with his obscene spandex and you cant even pretend you're not looking.

There are so many unrecognized skills rolled into writing:
knowing what kind of feedback helps you most is a skill
assessing the quality of the feedback is a skill
wrangling the emotional complexities of sharing your writing is a skill
not letting the nice comment happy chemicals unbalance you is a skill
and none of those things are even writing
(text above was originally tags from @the-very-darcy - ty for letting me turn them into a new post!)
Be kind to yourself when you're navigating these issues and remember that each of these is a skill separate from writing that maybe you haven't developed yet.
Give yourself the grace and time you need to improve on these areas too.
And forgive yourself if you find these things difficult. You're not born knowing how to do them. You get better at them with practice and with time. đ
making art sites that don't allow NSFW is useless to me. not even to get my rocks off, i mean at this point not allowing NSFW ends up being a nightmare of random queers getting banned because the guidelines are too ill-defined and art that presents the human body, especially femme and trans, will just get obliterated for no reason despite not being sexual.
come here and make art :) except the gross art. we don't want the gross art
