MAIN STORY CHAPTER 2-12 | UNFAIR DEAL

—overview :

The Wanderer from the previous battle is quickly defeated and Rafayel admits to have a log for the resources he's got for his paintings in case he's got a problem with his providers or forget where he got the resource from to begin with. MC asks for it but Rafayel is not open to giving it without receiving something in return, so he asks MC to accompany him in his journey to find more coral stones for his painting in exchange for the log. That's the first time MC is called "Miss Bodyguard".

MAIN STORY CHAPTER 2-13 | IN HOT PURSUIT

—overview :

After agreeing with following Rafayel around and helping him retrieve some coral stones for his paintings, MC finds Xavier. Does that mean Rafayel and Xavier have seen each other or has MC left Raf alone?

We're eventually reminded of the importance of MC's evol for these people. After all, it was shown before Xavier could only deal with the Luminivores feeding on the light by having MC's evol amplifying his powers and now, Jenna says her abilities are incomparable and she, in spite of being a Hunter, needs to be protected. She's truly one of a kind~ Maybe due to this, Xavier answers "She doesn't need protection". He knows what we can do by ourselves.

MAIN STORY CHAPTER 2-10 | FIERY BLOOD

—overview : I genuinely see no reason to make extremely short episodes (maybe that's why they changed this format later on for less chapters and more content). Anyway, in here Raf just shows us what the coral stones can do through simulating a small illusion through it.

—overview :

We have a short conversation with Rafayel about his materials used to paint his artworks and eventually come to the understanding that the coral stones have been used only in a single painting: the one MC saw earlier.

—overview : We meet Rafayel again and he falls over us. It's basically his character trailer <3 Also, we get to take a better look at his house.

MAIN STORY CHAPTER 2-07 | HEARD ABOUT IT

—overview : We quickly discover Raf's voice assistant to be as sassy as the original one.

The sassy Raf AI then describes the painting she saw at Mr. Raymond's home as a dream, appearing to be indescribably sad when talking about it. In the said dream, he was a fish who swam from the deep sea, seeking a place beyond the water's surface only to end up in blood-red seawater. When asked about why the sea turned red, the AI appeared not to have an exact answer for it and talked about the shade of red instead:

"It was the first time I ever saw such a color. Who knows how many years I've spent trying to recreate it. But I never really could get that same shade of red."

Their conversation is interrupted by Thomas, Rafayel's agent and owner of the Flux Arts Gallery and the topic goes back to the painting she's seen the day after at Raymond's collection—the same one the AI has described in more details. MC ends up believing Rafayel has been infusing Metaflux into his paintings to make people go crazy as a marketing strategy for his work, which Thomas quickly denies saying Raf's not really the kind since he's often saying he's either sick or fighting Wanderers, although Thomas doesn't believe either. It's revealed that Rafayel has been using coral stones in order to achieve the supposedly perfect red tone in the painting MC has seen

Thomas' said Rafayel leaves the door of his house at Whitesand Bay open because his memory is "non-existent".

MAIN STORY CHAPTER 2-06 | NEXT TARGET

—overview : The oil painting that had caught MC's eye for being Metaflux-infused was taken to the HQ for further analysis, to which Tara reveals to be a piece from the art gallery Flux Arts, owned by the professional art broker Thomas and made by an illustrious artist called Rafayel (aka. our dearest groom). We also receive a brief infodump of how Rafayel is cunty and possibly challenging to deal with.

Once presented to a picture of Rafayel, however, MC expresses her first impression to be literally "He's that rambling weirdo with the fish?". Still, she concludes being challenging doesn't mean being impossible to help us out and arranged a meeting with Thomas the next day in the name of Hunter's Association. MC is impressed by a painting called "The Day Of Ebbing", who's presented to us by an holographic Rafayel narrating it's meaning:

"Every year, there's a day when the tides go against the ocean currents. And using the night's countercurrent, creatures from the deep sea are washed ashore. Once the tides recede at dawn, they return home. As a result, everything they've met that night turns into distant memories of the surface world. Some deep sea creatures are obsessed with the world outside the ocean, design its warmth. They stubbornly wait for the sunrise before returning. All just for a sun they've never, even seen before..."

MAIN STORY CHAPTER 2-05 | ARTSTY DREAMS

—overview : We discover Mr. Raymond to have 39 years old (which is weird because they treat him as an old grandfather while saying he's got the health of a young man but anyway...). While Zayne requests aid for the unconscious man, MC is suddenly entranced by a painting in his room.

"A stunning oil painting hangs on the wall opposite of the sofa. It depicts a brilliantly blue sea with cascading white waves. Each brush stroke feels alive as if countless fairies are jumping out of the water. At the edge of the sea, the water is gradually stained crimson like something is being torn apart, swallowed and coalescing into a blood clot."

Unable to detect Metaflux from the painting but still finding it magnetic somehow, MC quickly tries to resonate with it. That's when she sees a vision.

"I come back to my senses when I realize I'm standing in the ocean. I turn around and spot a girl by the shore, the lower half of her body submerged in the water. Strange. It's almost like she's crying and laughing at the same time. The swirling fog carries a faint, ethereal melody on the sea breeze. It sounds like a song, yet is also a lament. I can't help but move toward her. but the fog becomes increasingly dense and everything begins to blur. A chilling cold gradually surrounds me."

That's when Zayne tells us to "snap out of it", pulling us back from the trance. We conclude that the painting had, yes, Metaflux in it and was probably what caused the hallucinations on both MC and Mr. Raymond. An helicopter arrives to rescue the collector and Zayne decides to leave with the patient, suggesting MC to take care of herself while he's not around. After he's gone, MC uses her Hunter's Watch to request special treatment for the painting using her location and mission code (HM-U-0048-3015) as coordinates.
