Why are DEERS so underrated?

Don’t they deserve memorable roles in novels and films? Why are they always being left out?

Foxes and phoenixes get endless attention, and even get buffed. I’m tired to see a thousand of them, thousands of film making them.

But… magical deer are always overlooked. Why? Why? Why?

Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. 🙂

About ELVES… 🧝‍♂️

Elves are very popular tropes for many writers, included me. That’s why I want some research for my writing project. My questions are:

What do elves in mythology actually look like, and how are they depicted as beautiful beings?

Are they similar to “tian” in ancient Chinese stories? Or “aspara” in Indian myths? I feel there’s some resemblance, as elves are described as fair beings that dwelt next to Asgard - gods’ realm.

However, in some westerners’ imagination, elves often portrayed more like aliens 👽? More inhuman looking? I have seen some drawings portray them as aliens instead of a celestial beings who are guardians from gods like “tian”.

WOLF 🐺 AND DEER 🦌? TOGETHER?

Yeah why not?

It’s not a really popular trope, I think. But I believe it’s an interesting trope to be used in future films and novels. I have seen some films portrayed deer and wolf as a closed friends, some as a couple.

Beastars - I watched this series because I’m curious about the story. At first, I thought it’s all about love story, but no. It’s so much more than that.

What I’m surprised that is the anime gave the deer so much spotlight. I thought it mainly focused on the wolf and the rabbit, and the deer is just a side character. But it turns out the friendship between the wolf and deer steals the whole show. 😅

Two Eyes - This is a game, a nonogram game that has Romeo and Juliet vibe! In this game, wolf and deer are a star-crossed couple that have tragic ending. 😞 But the story is so beautiful that I just want to shared.

Legend of Exorcism - another wolf and deer couple. They’re not ordinary wolf and deer, they’re gods! They’re are destined to guard Days and Nights together side by side.

The Gray Wolf guards the Day, The White Deer guards the Night. A cute couple, but disastrous. 🤡 They fights and argues a lot. 😩 Oh, and they’re gays 🌈.

I love Legolas when I was young. When I’m older, I turns to love both Thranduil and Legolas. They’re portrayed differently from the books, but I still like them in movies. I love how Peter Jackson gave them a story and characteristics that were so memorable. And their appearances? Such a graceful beings!

It’s so strange that some people said elves are ugly in the original mythologies. Based on what I have read and researched so far about Norse Mythology, elves are considered as beautiful beings that live in Alfheim, which next to Gods’ realms. Besides, Tolkien elves are also quite similar to Tuatha De Dannan, which are described as godly beings who possessed magical powers.

I think some people have mistaken them with the dark elves that lived underground. Some say that dark elves are dwarves, but there’s no actual evidence for that. So, it’s okay for us to believe thay dark elves are a separated race.

I have something that came up in my mind:

I want to write a fanfic for Eironn, when he will meet my OC on his journey after became Scion of the Lument Tree and left the Dark Forest again.

This character will be an antagonist, who is sent to k*ll him, maybe. 😆 He’s an assassin who is half elf, half wolf. 🐺 🐺 But don’t worry, he’s not going become Eironn’s enemy, but will become a friend.

They’re having a fight again, and again… 🙄

This game was closed, but I still had enough chances to create Lu Xu and Mo Rigen based on their donghua designs; and took a hundred photos and videos of them.

As Lu Xu is related to the Moon as he’s a guardian of the Night, I used Night Arabian theme for the background and costumes - which has deserts, moon themed jewels, and yes, the colors that is almost similar to Lu Xu’s donghua version.

Mo Rigen, the hair is on spot. He looks so alike to donghua version. I’m surprised that this game have this hair.

It’s funny that recently, I just find out some of characters I love is related to deers. 😆😆 I love deers anyway.

Nine Colored Deer - my favorite childhood film which is based on a Buddhist folklore.

Lu Xu - a gay tsundere boy who can shapeshift into a White Deer (the deer was based off the Nine Colored Deer)

Louis - a deer furry. I love his story and character development.

Legolas and Thranduil - a lot of people know them. They’re not deers, but I heard that Legolas has a symbol of a white deer, i dunno. And Thranduil, he rides an elk in the movie and a pair of antlers on his throne. 😆

And finally, Eironn, who has a connection to the Lument Tree and somehow was chosen by a Deer Spirit???? Aww yes! he’s a tree spite with a pair of antlers resembling the Deer Spirit.

For me, this is one of the coolest cutscene in AFK Journey so far. I’ve replayed it for, like, more than ten times. So satisfying! 😆

Not sure if Eironn will appear again in the next seasons, but oh my god, I love him. I can’t see enough of him, and really want to see him more.
