Kaneda, Akira. What a badass. #akira #kaneda #anime https://daniel-ido.com/ http://instagram.com/deerdido/0
I generally draw faces, my sketchbook is full of them, with a lot of people looking at their phones (in transport). My finalised pieces tend to echo that indifferent, blank stare. #faceyourart #faceyourartchallenge https://daniel-ido.com/ http://instagram.com/deerdido/
San from Princess Mononoke.
I really love this film, dare I say it, might be my favourite Miyazaki / Studio Ghibli. One of the things that stood out was when Ashitaka shot a dudes arm clean off with a bow an arrow. Me thinking - "Violence? IN A CARTOON?!". Opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of anime.
So here's San with the two wolves, can you spot the 5 forest spirits (Kodama)?

Inktober 2018, Traditional Chinese Medicine Find out more: https://daniel-ido.com/ http://instagram.com/deerdido/
This one was made a while back, but wasn't sure how to execute it. Still unsure... It's halloween-y nonetheless :) 🎃👻 #halloween #cats #pirates #ghost (at London, United Kingdom) https://daniel-ido.com/ http://instagram.com/deerdido/
14 of 31 #inktober (Hammerhead) Shark. Sharks are often hunted indiscriminately whether it's this hammerhead or a whale shark. Each shark is able to be harvested for 7 of its fins, of which rougly 70% are used in shark fin soup - a middle class dish believed to prevent cancer, heart disease and low cholesterol. #traditionalchinesemedicine #tcm #ink #shark #endangered #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing #ink https://daniel-ido.com/ http://instagram.com/deerdido/
13 of 31 #inktober Forest Frog. There's a particular piece of the frog that is used for traditional chinese medicine. The oviduct (the little bit that connects the eggs to the uterus) is used to heal weakness after illness or delivery, night sweat, cough and hematemesis due to tuberculosis. #traditionalchinesemedicine #tcm #ink #frog #animal #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo-RhO4nFdU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=exgjh3uplbtw
12 of 31 #inktober Snow Leopard. Not on the official traditional chinese medicine database, but because of the decline in tiger populations and increasing demand of tiger bones, snow leopards have been used as an 'expensive alternative option'. #traditionalchinesemedicine #tcm #ink #cat #ink #linework #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo9zHEKn3XG/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vk7lpm35li6
11 of 31 #inktober The Yellow-Breasted Bunting. Not too much is documented on this little bird (most of the reason I drew this bird is cause I liked this pose for a bird) in the chinese medicine database, yet this bird and sharks (for their fins) and rays (i.e. manta rays, for their gills) are being killed en masse. #traditionalchinesemedicine #taxidermy #TCM #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo5D3T7Hq2t/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1le7rsmit65as
10 of 31 #inktober The Donkey. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Donkeys are used for their hide. This is then turned into something called 'Ejiao', or donkey-hide gelatin. What does it taste like? Sweet, apparently, if it's not the fake stuff (which can be made out of old shoes). It's used for bleeding, dizziness, insomnia and dry coughs. #donkey #traditionalchinesemedicine #tcm #animalart #animal #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/Boz3znMnIfj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dli4xyh00gi
9 of 31 #inktober #macaque In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Macaque is used for their bones, and their bezoar (a little concrete formation that grows in its gastro system). Amongst one of its uses the bones help prevent malaria; whereas Bezoar, relieves asthma and resolves swelling. #traditionalchinesemedicine #monkey #exctinction #endangered #TCM #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/BoxVTf2HiMH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=fsiajn4krzcu
8 of 31 #inktober #tortoise In Traditional Chinese Medicine this animals shell is used. It's believed that this animals shell does a few things some of which include nourishing the Yin in your liver and kidney. Symptoms of a deficiency of yin include hot flashes, night sweats, thirst, burning soles and palms, and constipation. #traditionalchinesemedicine #seaanimals #exctint #endangered #TCM #inktober2018 #doodle #drawing #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/Bov_ARcnWCL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1q0xv3ddfxlnd
7 of 31 #inktober Trying to catch up. Cuttlefish, has a wide use in TCM. The ink of the cuttlefish is even used. #octopus #cuddelfish #cuttlefish #sea #sealife #water #TCM #inktober2018 #drawing #doodle #draw #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/BosUMuWnRQe/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=5peuneua5463
6 of 21 #inktober Sparrow. In traditional chinese medicine, a sparrow can either be taken whole or in particular the brain. This animal helps with a myriad of sicknesses, some of which are deafness, weakness, impotance and frequest urination - to name a few. #floating #birds #traditionalchinesemedicine #taxidermy #doodle #ink #drawing #inktober2018 https://www.instagram.com/p/BopnbBlnDfb/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1lmb530obehfy
5 of 31 #inktober A chinese alligator. In traditional Chinese medicine the meat of this animal was considered to be a cute for the cold and to prevent cancer. #alligator #animal #endangered #inktober2018 #traditionalchinesemedicine #draw #doodle #ink https://www.instagram.com/p/Bopm8OpnYa-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1iqwqok5laetd
4 of 31 #inktober Pangolin. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these can be eaten whole, but in particular the scales are the important part. The scales help with masses, and dispels statis in blood. #pangolin #animal #floating #chinesepangolin #endangered #extinct #inktober2018 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bokj4xgnTHV/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ggilwsy7u5pf
3 of 31 #inktober Rooster. Bwak bwak. The gizzard lining of the chicken is used in traditional chinese medicine. You can have it dried in the sun, unprocessed or with vinegar and it helps promotion of digestion. https://www.instagram.com/p/Boh-TB0Hzpc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=t5cph8is8i8c
