3D Behind the scenes
What if dodos are just as bad at making nests as pigeons?
In fact, dodos are classified in the pigeon family. Their closest living relative is the Nicobar pigeon.
Giant of the African plains.. WildLens Chronicles
Hi everyone, I’ve been a bit absent, I know, but I’d like to gradually come back here — maybe even with daily posts. Not just to show my drawings, but also to talk a bit about my recent hyperfixations. And that’s exactly what I came here to do today. I’ve been studying a lot of things lately: biology, paleontology, and even speculative evolution.
I made this small, silly, goofy moodboard to show the things I’m interested in at the moment.
Well, first of all, I’d say that all of my hyperfixations involve areas of biology in some way (I have a big interest in the natural world), so here are my explanations:
I’ve been wanting to create a sona of myself inspired by parts of the human body, which led me to become really interested in the nervous system, and in how strangely complex it is and full of lines. I’m actually working on a sona based on that right now — I guess I really love nervous systems after all.
After that, I started looking a lot into cold-temperature habitats, which led me to two major predators that completely fascinated me. The leopard seal and the orca are definitely two of my favorite animals from now on. Learning about them is so cool — I love misunderstood animals (no wonder I’m also really into sharks).
Reading about them made me appreciate everything: the coloration and patterns of their skin, their hunting tactics, and even their teeth. Carnivores can be silly sometimes.
I also looked into some recently extinct animals, and the one that really got to me was the Tasmanian tiger. I love it — my Roman Empire…
And I also went back to a big childhood interest of mine: dinosaurs and other ancient eras. I love herbivorous dinosaurs — my favorite is Parasaurolophus. I love everything about this guy. I really like hadrosaurids in general, but especially him.
I also looked into other periods beyond the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. Outside of those, my favorite is without a doubt the Cambrian. Big hugs to my Anomalocaris friends.
And lastly, I became really fascinated with speculative evolution/biology, especially the concepts by @iguanodont, which I find absolutely amazing. Like, look this
Well, for now this is the biggest update I’ve made so far. I hope to be more active here and with the people around here, and soon there will be more things I’ve made. Hugs!

12,500 Years Later Dire Wolves Reborn : Return of the Ice Age Predator
Colossal Biosciences has produced three dire wolf pups—two males and one female—using gene editing, cloning, and ancient DNA from fossils dated 13,000 to 72,000 years old. By editing 14 genes in gray wolf cells to match dire wolf traits like thick fur, stronger jaws, and broader skulls, scientists recreated the dire wolf phenotype. The embryos were implanted into domestic dogs.
The pups, born in late 2024 and early 2025, now live on a secure 2,000-acre site under strict oversight. While the animals are about 99.9% gray wolf, Colossal claims this is the first real proof of de-extinction in practice and a step toward reviving species like the mammoth and dodo. #direwolves #extinctanimals #sciencenews #biology #genetics #wildlife #conservation #DeExtinctionProject #animalscience #futureofscience #DireWolfDeExtinction #colossalbiosciences #geneticengineering #ExtinctSpeciesRevival #ancientdna #crisproducciones #DeExtinctionTechnology #wildlifeconservation #PleistoceneFauna #ResurrectionScience #bioengineering
