How to make your posts look aesthetic ┊⋆｡ﾟ☁︎｡⋆｡ ﾟ☾ ﾟ｡⋆

Since there are a ton of people joining shiftumblr from shiftok, I thought maybe this would help a few of you guys who want to make your posts look nicer. I haven't been on shiftumblr that long, and I've only made a few posts but I thought maybe this would hopefully help some people!

1)

Pinterest is a good place to go to find banners! Since there is a limit on the amount of photos you can use, putting a banner is usually better than 3 photos. So:

Something like that is better than 3 photos. Obviously using 3 photos is perfectly fine and I still do it, but if you want to make a long DR introduction post or something like that it's easy to run out of images.

Another thing you can add is:

Something else to make your posts stand out and look better is making use of the colours and size fonts. For anyone (like me) who can't find the colours fonts and everything, (maybe I'm the only one...) It appears if you hold down on the text you want to change:

This just makes things stand out, and you can use the colours to do dialogue etc.

Tips for people moving here from tiktok who haven’t been on tumblr before!!

-reblog stuff often! It’s how the ecosystem lives and thrives, everyone interacting and sharing each other’s posts

-sometimes someone will reblog a post that was originally created years ago, this is not weird or frowned upon, it’s a part of the reblogging culture and just helps bring back good/funny posts

-block people liberally, which is not a requirement, but a part of tumblr culture is that if you don’t like someone or what they post, just block them. It creates a better environment for everyone because you see only what you want to see, so just don’t take it personally if someone blocks you

-if you want to say something you think is important/useful/good when reblogging a post, you can just add it as text to the post

-if it’s something not very important but just commentary or a reaction, add it to the tags instead (I love seeing people’s reactions in the tags of a post and I think more people should participate in this)

-if you want to say something specifically to the poster and not to other people as much, say it in the replies
