I'm sorry for not being online or replying much, I have been focusing on other things like school and preparations for exams among other things, so I wasn't able to do much.

I unfortunately don't have a means of directly sending money and donating online, but I will try and boost posts when I can.

Edit: I have recently found out that you need a visa or debit card to use PayPal, which I unfortunately do not have. The War Is Almost Over… but Our Struggle to Rebuild Has Just Begun.

Every day here in Gaza feels like a year carved into our chests. The war isn’t like it was in the early days—the sky is quieter, the air carries less smoke, and the nights hold fewer explosions. But the pain… it still lives under the rubble, inside our memories, and in the empty spaces where our loved ones once stood.

I’m writing this today not because the war has completely ended, but because for the first time in a long while, it feels like the horizon is opening a little. A small space where we can breathe, gather ourselves, and try to rebuild what’s left of our lives. Yet every step forward feels like walking on wounded memories, and every stone from our destroyed home whispers stories we never got to finish.

We lived through nights so heavy we thought morning would never come. We lost things that can never be replaced—homes, dreams, pieces of our hearts. But we are still here… holding on, trying, fighting to stay standing despite everything.

And in the middle of this long road… there is a house. A house that once carried laughter, warmth, noise, and life. Today, all that remains is an image holding a memory—and rubble longing for the people who once lived inside.

Today, we are trying to rebuild—not just the walls of a house, but an entire life that was shattered. We are trying to create a new beginning, to live with dignity again, to give our family a sense of safety that we’ve been missing for so long.

We’re not writing this to mourn what was lost, but to ask for a chance to start again. We ask for your support because rebuilding after a war is not something one person can do alone—it is a human effort, a shared act of compassion. We need you. We need your hearts. The Water Crisis in Northern Gaza, Life Without Life

We returned to Northern Gaza hoping to start over, but what we found was harsher than displacement itself.

We came back to barren land no water, no infrastructure, no means to survive.

The occupation left nothing behind Our only water tank was burned, and the sewage pipes were destroyed.

Today, we live in literal thirst, searching for a drop of water amidst the rubble.

The situation is extremely dangerous, especially with children, women, and the elderly who cannot endure this harsh thirst.

There is no nearby water source, and we cannot afford to fetch water daily.

We urgently need support to secure a new 1000-liter water tank, which can be filled by mobile water trucks.

We cannot survive without water, and we don’t want to be forced into displacement again.

🕊 Nadin’s Hope: A Mother, A Memory, A Future

Hello, my name is Nadin. I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate, a wife—and now, a mother.

I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small studio, of creating art that told stories. I used to think about colors and fonts and the future.

Then, the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.

On October 22, 2023, I learned I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home, killing 25 members—his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews—entire branches of our family in seconds.

We were displaced twice. Everything was gone—home, safety, routine, rest.

A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib, no celebration—not even stillness. But she arrived, quietly and beautifully. In her eyes I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.

Now, our days are shaped by decisions that could dismantle the future we are trying to build together.

Today, Israel’s government is discussing plans for a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City and southern regions. The stated aim: to eliminate Hamas and later hand governing control to allied Arab forces—not Israel—but with no clear path to peace or normalcy.

The humanitarian fallout is devastating. More than 61,000 Palestinians have died in this war; hunger and malnutrition are rising sharply. Hospitals in north Gaza have shut down, and 193 people have now died of starvation, nearly half of them children.

Aid remains blocked, water is scarce, and many risk dying of hunger or disease long before future promises arrive.

We Don’t Know What Comes Next There’s no clear path forward—only uncertainty for our daughter’s life and our ability to survive another day.

There is less than 450 pounds left to reach the short target of 10,000, and Muhammad is trying to get them before the occupation army asks them to forcibly move to the south, and before the rockets fall on them and they become unable to go on foot, trying to survive with their own soul.

really valuable little piece from a 17 year old poet and writer in gaza about the reality and indignity of relying on foreign aid solicited online. this has been the reality for gazans since the beginning of the genocide when a lot of people lost their jobs. while a lot of discourse around online fundraising understandably centers the necessity of this aid (or, less sympathetically, the feelings of westerners who object to the knowledge of our position of power that gazan fundraisers reveal) i really think the perspectives of the palestinians who do the e-begging has been lost.

notice how his post never once suggests you should /stop/ aiding gazans through donations or even deprioritize it. what he is asking is explicitly solidarity, not charity. while it cannot undo the hierarchy inherent to the practice, radical charity is a thing and i think we owe it to people like yazan that we do not see gazans as a helpless population (or a horde invading our attention) but people in their own right using the tools available for them, as we use the tools available to us to help keep them alive.

I never thought I would write these words… 😔

I never imagined waking up to endless screams,

Running barefoot through smoke and fire,

Searching for my mother among the rubble,

I come from a lifeless neighborhood with no color other than the color of blood and destruction.

I was born in 1991.

I'm a girl from a family of seven boys and six girls, and I'm the youngest.

My mother and I live in a house left to us by my father. I studied at university and graduated with a degree in basic education.

I worked in a private job.

I received a salary that covered my and my mother's expenses as much as possible.

We were happy until the war came.

The war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.

Here, hell began for us in Gaza. I lost my job and became unemployed. My mother owns nothing, and I own nothing.

My mother was displaced to the southern Gaza Strip for 15 months. I didn't go with her. It was months of longing for my mother and siblings.

My brothers Mahmoud and Ashraf stayed behind.

We were displaced several times because I live in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, a border area close to the army.

During the displacement on June 27, 2024, we left the house and raced along the road to escape the shells and planes. Then came the lightning strike. The shock was that death was faster than my brothers could escape...

Here, here, we lost our loved ones. I lost my brothers, the apple of my eye, Mahmoud and Ashraf. Mahmoud left no children. As for Ashraf, he left behind his sons who grieve, and my mother is in pain because they departed to God without a farewell, without a kiss on their foreheads, a farewell kiss. After a while, we returned home. The house had been severely damaged by demolition and stones that had fallen from their places, which used to shelter us and protect us. Now, nothing protects us except some worn-out tarpaulins that do not protect us from the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Our suffering is great, but with your help, we may reach a better and dignified life. I appeal to you to help me support myself, my mother, my loved ones, and my family. What you provide makes a difference in our lives as individuals.
