SHANIE'S FANTASY BOOKING FOR AUGUST 21, 2026
SAMI, KEVIN, PUNK
Haven't done one of these in awhile, so why not.
Here goes
(First part behind cut, and there will potentially be a part 2 that follows this)
Characters Involved: Kevin Owens, CM Punk, Nick Aldis, Sami Zayn (in that order)
Words: 1109 (first part/post)
Format: Mostly description with some quotes added.
So, the show starts with Kevin coming out. Before he can speak (again), Punk comes out and says AGAIN that since Kevin came out with a mic, clearly he has something to say to him (Punk) so say it.
Kevin said that it’s really like Punk’s egotistical ass to assume EVERYTHING is about him but in this case, he came out to talk to Smackdown GM Nick Aldis. So… can Nick come out?
Nick does, and Kevin (off Mic) has Nick send Punk away. Aldis tells Punk to leave, and make sure he’s ready for his match in the main event.
Punk leaves.
Nick Aldis asks what Kevin wants… but before Kevin can speak, SAMI’S MUSIC HITS.
Sami storms out in a HUFF.
He immediately grabs a mic and starts shouting about what the HELL is going on because at this point it is TOO hard to ignore. Nick Aldis HAPPENED to know that CM Punk was in the building back in Chicago, did he know Randy was in the building last week? And, hey hey hey, here’s one – Nick told Gunther that Gunther was added to KEVIN’S match. THAT WAS SAMI’S MATCH!!! Nick promised SAMI that match!!! So if it already belonged to Kevin? How is that not PERSONAL??? How the hell is that NOT Nick using Kevin to screw Sami over?!?!
Aldis tries to tell Sami that “I’ve had enough of your nonsense” but Kevin stops him.
“No, Nick… I think he deserves an answer.”
Nick is shocked.
Kevin says it’s funny that Sami came out because this is actually what Kevin wanted to discuss with Nick. See, he’s known Sami for 25 years now and TRUST him, he knows better than anyone when Sami is spouting conspiracy theory nonsense. Reminder, Kevin beat his ass at WrestleMania once SPECIFICALLY to try and end the last time Sami was going on like that. But this? Isn’t that.
Because Sami Is Right.
Nick HAD been negotiating Kevin’s return for MONTHS… BEFORE Sami won the title. And when that match was made, Kevin called frantically for a chance to be there. He got, “Sorry, Kevin. The best we can get is a spot on the watch party”.
Ok, fair enough.
But when he’s calling Nick afterwards on Friday to see about getting a title shot at Summerslam? GUESS WHAT! Adam Pearce is running Smackdown that week – THROUGH NO FAULT OF ALDIS’S, of course. But what IS Nick’s fault is how EAGER he was to ensure that inflated scumbag CM Punk cut the line to take the title off Sami in 9 days. And then, it continued. Cody got a title shot because “Just Say When”… once upon a time, champions were offered REMATCHES. He’s always hated that they did away with that, so what did Kevin do? He went ABOVE Aldis to ensure Sami had a chance to be added to the title match at SNME… WHICH NICK SCREWED UP PERSONALLY.
Over and over Nick has found ways to screw Sami over and, honestly? Kevin’s finding it hard NOT to notice the pattern.
“So, Nick. What IS the issue here? Why can’t Sami be WWE champion?”
Nick has a face that you can TELL he’s been caught.
And he replies that it’s true. He… has been maneuvering against Sami.
(SAMI FLIPS OUT ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY)
Nick: HOLD ON SAMI, HOLD ON! Because it wasn’t about YOU.
(Sami is pissed but confused)
Nick: I wasn’t keeping the WWE title away from you because of YOU…. I was doing so because of HIM.
(POINTS TO KEVIN)
Sami and Kevin both just stop and STARE.
Nick goes on to explain that, 17 months ago, in that very arena, one of the most hellacious fights in WWE history happened…. And WWE lost one of the greatest STARS in history. A Grand Slam Champion, future hall of famer and someone that, even if they haven’t always liked, a lot of people have RESPECTED. Greatly.
And one of those reasons? Is for how Kevin Owens NEVER STOPS FIGHTING.
But he also never gives less than 100%
Except… when it’s against Sami Zayn.
Because when THEY go at it?
NOTHING gets left behind.
…. Except, in the case of Elimination Chamber 2025, Kevin Owens’ CAREER.
(realization is now dawning on BOTH of them)
So yes, Nick says, He DID do everything in his power to ensure Sami couldn’t have the WWE title when Kevin returned…. Because making sure Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens don’t go at it for the WWE Title and Kevin ends up RIGHT back on the shelf, PERMANENTLY… is best for business. AND, as Smackdown general manager, he’s already arranged it with upper management – in the event Kevin wins tonight? Sami will NOT be able to fight Kevin for that title for at least 100 days, or until WWE Medical is fully certain Kevin will not cause irreparable harm to his neck by being given the opportunity.
Kevin is PISSED… but then notices Sami.
Sami looks like he’s about to cry.
Kevin tries to approach him but Sami pushes him away, shoves the microphone into his chest, and leaves the ring, without another word.
Kevin watches him go and turns to Aldis and says that he really appreciates all that Nick did in bringing him back, he DOES. Being a wrestler is all he’s ever known… for 26 years. But for 25 of that? Facing Sami in a match for the WWE title was his DREAM.
THEIR dream.
It was their dream when they were wrestling in armories and sports bars in Quebec, it was their dream when they were ripping each other to shreds, blood sweat and tears on the indies, and it was their dream when Sami got hired to WWE almost THREE YEARS before Kevin did. And Kevin worked his ASS off so that he could join WWE in the hopes that some day they could find a way to MAKE THAT DREAM COME TRUE.
Because main eventing wrestlemania and winning the tag titles was a dream they had never even considered. But it’s still not the one they had.
“Thanks Nick, for bringing me back, I mean it. And thanks for giving me this opportunity tonight to humble and humiliate that no good piece of trash CM Punk. But as for this? How you’re blocking me and Sami from doing the thing we always wanted to for over a decade before we even got here?
It’s a load of CRAP.”
And with that, Kevin shoves HIS mic at Aldis and storms out.
Aldis watches, and shows MINIMAL regret… but Kevin? Is kind of heartbroken.
