finally finished ds9 and i choose to believe at the end of the war when garak finds out about ezri and bashir he decides “damn. has bashir really never realized that i’m flirting with him? oh well, i don’t want to be around for their relationship. i just can’t bare the sight of bashir in a serious relationship that isn’t with me. goodbye forever tailor shop”
but on the other end, bashir has decided that if nothing’s happened with Garak yet, then nothing ever will, so the next best thing is ezri.
in my eyes, this would set up a PERFECT reunion down the road. one of those “wait, you were in love with me the whole time???? i was in love with YOU the whole time!!” moments
