Introducing the MineTV texture pack, Defscape - MineTV Edition! This pack is essentially Defscape 64x with a few glitzy studio tweaks: - Sticks are now microphones! - Pistons are now glossy TV desks! - Note blocks are now studio speakers. - Furnaces and dispensers are now various TV monitors. - Redstone lamps are now production lights! - Green wool is now a flat matt colour for greenscreen superimposition. Download Defscape - MineTV Edition: You must patch Minecraft with the latest version of MCPatcher or Optifine to stop animations on the wrong blocks, to ensure proper font rendering and for Defscape's grass and water colours to work properly! Download Defscape - MineTV Edition - 64x 1.9.1 from Mediafire here (8mb)
And here is the Defscape version of the new stone brick that Jeb_ added earlier today. Expect Defscape 1.9 tomorrow (1.2 compatible), probably released at the same time as 1.2 itself!
Coming up in Defscape 1.9: Ocelots, cats, shrubs, redstone lamps and XP bottles! Keep an eye on the Defscape thread - 1.9 should be released either later today or tomorrow :).
Your 32x download link isn't working... Can you fix it?
Hey. At the moment, it looks like mediafire have suspended redirects for the time being. This means anyone using adf.ly to point to a mediafire file will find their links are broken. A temporary way around this is to follow these steps: 1. Click the Defscape download link as normal. 2. Don't click 'skip ad' 3. Right click 'skip ad' and select 'copy link location', 'copy shortcut' or any other copy option your browser supports. 4. Paste the copied link in a new window or tab. 5. Download Defscape! Hope this helps until Mediafire sort this problem out .
Defscape 1.8.2 is now available to download! This version includes new textures for the jungle biomes featured in 12w03a :). You can download the new version here on tumblr or over at the minecraftforums thread. Here's a preview!
Minecraft Snapshot 12w01a
Finally time for the next snapshot! This snapshot has the following changes:
New language translations. We changed from using Google Docs to a new system, so these may still contain a lot of errors or missing texts. Please check the Minecraft forums (language section) for more info.
Slightly smoothed color transitions between biomes
Reduced brewing time to 20 seconds
Decreased randomness of Enchantment Tables
Changed colors of spawning eggs to more represent the mobs they spawn
Made biomes slightly more varied (hills in forests and deserts, beaches)
Added world type options (currently only super-flat and default)
Removed collision box from ladders Updated fence gate collision box to align with fences
Get the snapshot here:

Yay to more varied biomes, ladder & fence collision box fixing and smoother biome transitions. :).
Here's our little spleef arena on the new Worlds Apart server. I particularly like the inconspicuous hatch :). Fancy a duel?
Defscape v1.8 has been released! There are a whole range of changes including Custom Colors support, updated blocks and CTM mod support! You can download the packs over at the Defscape thread, or in the Download section here :).
A new AI system for mobs? :o
Finally! This should be very interesting :).
how do we get those interlocking wooden planks you showed in a screen shot a while back?
Good question!Eventually Defscape will have a customiser allowing you to pick the offset wood texture over the normal wood texture... Eventually!I'm organising the customiser at a leisurely pace, partly due to priorities and partly due to the fact that the Defscape terrain is still changing/being perfected.
I'll let you know as soon as the customiser is up and running :).
Worlds Apart, a city based survival server, has been launched! To find more information about the server and to apply, take a look at the Worlds Apart minecraftforum thread :).
I had some delightful Minecraft adventures today. Unfortunately my dog (on the right) has since perished from a creeper attack. RIP.
So, it's been 3 long months since Defscape was launched, but now the minecraftforum thread is almost at 50 reputation, giving the thread "popular" status! Although this status is purely symbolic and doesn't affect how the pack is listed in any way, achieving this stamp has been a small Defscape goal from the very start. If you use and enjoy Defscape and have a dusty minecraftforum/curse account laying around, I'd appreciate your +1 support :).
I hope you all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
Oh and coming up: A new Defscape-powered Minecraft server launch as well as the Defscape 1.8 release :).
Wishing all of Minecraftia a very merry Minecraft Christmas :). Have a good one!
Fellow Minecraftians! I have a question for you: In Defscape 1.8, would you prefer snowy grass in taiga/tundra biomes and sandy grass in desert biomes, or would you prefer green grass? Pros: Smoother transitions, sleeker look, no patches of snow-less grass under trees. Cons: No more green grass gardens/builds in desert/snow biomes! What do you think?
Here are some examples of different water colours in Defscape 1.8 (tropical desert water, fresh spring mountain water, dark green swamp water, deeper ocean water, icey pine tree water, etc). What do you think?
