So, today Minecraft updated which is great except for the fact that you have to download a new launcher. The new launcher is actually cool and shows quite a bit about the game. This isn't my problem. My problem starts with Mcpatcher. I've been using Mcpatcher and Optifine for a very long time. So, I went to download the newest version of Mcpatcher and it turns out to be a .jar file. Mcpatcher has always been an application so I have absolutely no idea how to use Mcpatcher now. Granted it's a 'beta' version as implied in the name but still. It seems I will have to wait until they get the .exe version before I can even think about using Optifine, other mods and my texture pack.
