Favorite Thing About Him: Michael's also a pretty messy character. He spent a lot of his adult life isolating himself, trying to become a great surgeon, measuring his worth to others ideals of success. However as be gets older, he reconnects with his community and finds worth in that. I think that's pretty awesome.
Least Favorite Thing About Him: Michael tends to fall into a lot of racist tropes. I hope that someday we'll see writers put him in less stereotypical roles and make him more of a main protagonist than the supporting player he's been for such a long time.
Favorite Line:
Big fan of him tearing into Mac in this scene. He should do it more often.
Brotp: Michael and Heather, they have a pretty good uncle-niece relationship going on.
OTP: Big fan of the Michael x Judd ship. I should probably write fanfic for that.

Random Headcanon: Michael used to take Elizabeth to the park when she was a baby and helped her feed the ducks, it stopped when Kathryn got sick. Elizabeth does not remember this.
Unpopular Opinion: Michael should be allowed to do doctor stuff without the use of his magic. It would be interesting to see him try to solve problems and help his teammates without it.

Favorite Thing About Them: I love how much of a mess she is sometimes. That before she starts getting better Jeanne-Marie/Aurora struggles s lot. Tons of people tend to blame her for her issues, but at the end of the day she had limited help to address her own mental illness and trauma. Despite all of the obstacles she still manages to pull herself up and make a better life for herself.
Least favorite thing: Whenever writers make Jeanne-Marie out to be a cold, callous, religious bigot and Aurora a man-eating, heartless, party girl. It's wrapped in layers of abelsim and misogyny and it's so untrue to her character.
Favorite Line:
This line where Jeanne-Marie asserts her agency and takes down the man that's torturing her. 10/10 character moment.
Brotp: Aurora and Polaris should be besties. Their both traumatized, mentally ill, powerhouses who have delt with some much shit from everyone around them. They'd relate to each other a lot.
OTP: Toss up between Nightcrawler x Aurora and Auroradazz
Notp: Any of her boyfriends before Akihiro. Although I make a slight exception for Kyle Gibney.

Unpopular Opinion: Aurora needs more stories away from her brother. As much as I love him, she and Northstar need a break from each other and I'd love to see Aurora stand on her own two feet. We got Mauraders but most of her appearances after that we her accompanying Jean-Paul or Akihiro.

Well, if you were to ask Heather she’d say that they go on dates all the time. Going grocery shopping together, working in the yard together, baking together, ordering takeout and watching some movie on the couch, she counts all of these as ‘dates’ so naturally she’s extremely confused whenever Wanda so casually mentions that they haven’t had a date in a while because ??? They have dates practically every weekend??
Of course, most people would say that’s just normal couple activities, not something that would qualify as a date as much as Heather would like to argue otherwise. But she wouldn’t argue because why would she say no to more time with Wanda? She wasn’t stupid.
As for Heathers ideal date, being the person with the sleep schedule of a grandma, she prefers to spend the day together as opposed to a night. It would look something akin to a downtown crawl. Starting at a cute little cafe for something caffeinated and a small treat for breakfast. They might stay in the cafe for a while or they might go and spend time in a park depending on what part of the city they’ve decided to explore.
Most of the day would be taken up by window shopping. Book stores, antique stores, vintage stores. Wanda might convince her to hop into a boutique or two. Heather might find some speciality grocery stores that she wants to look around in. Overall very chill.
They’d stop somewhere they haven’t tried for lunch. If it was good, then they’d have a new place. If it was bad, then they’d still be having a good day together.
And of course, after they leave whatever sector of the city they sufficiently explored, no day would be complete if they didn’t go to the plant nursery on the way home.
Heather’s whole goal was to just look around, you know, like they’ve been doing all day. Maybe get some more bags of fertilizer and plant food as long as she had Wanda to heave them into the car. But it was only natural that that goal would fail.
She couldn’t make a single comment about liking something without Wanda insisting they get it. She commented about how some lavender pot would look nice next to that ridiculous carousel unicorn they bought off Facebook marketplace and Wanda put it on the flat cart she was very intent on grabbing (which now made sense). She said that she’d like to have a rhododendron in the front yard and suddenly she was examining all of them.
No matter how much she told her that she didn’t need them, Wanda wouldn’t back down. She was dedicated to the cause of spoiling her darling honey bun. But, hey, at least Heather wasn’t the one who had to put them in the car.
Wanda’s ideal date would be similar in nature, with a few little tweaks along the way. The first thing they’d do is stay in a bit later and start with brunch. Get something savory and something sweet and split them both. Maybe some mimosas or even some French 75s if they’re feeling nasty.
After that she’d take them to the nail salon. She doesn’t get her nails done very often so it’s more of a rare treat and a manicure was one of the only spa treatments that Heather would physically tolerate.
She doesn’t keep her nails long because of her job as a scientist and… other reasons… it’s more so about the ritual of it. Heather always lets her pick out her nail polish. It didn’t matter that much to her, they’d end up all chipped in a few days anyway considering how much time she spends in the garden.
A nice emerald green for Heather and a muted lavender for herself. They’d look good in that picture of them holding hands she was going to post later.
After that they’d have some time to kill. Maybe stop in a tea house and look at what blends they have in. Perhaps they could go into a perfume store and sniff around. Stay until one of them starts to get a headache if they get carried away.
And then the crown jewel of the date. Going to some matinee movie at an indie theater. One with nice seats and an interesting assortment of theater snacks. They always ended up getting popcorn and peanut M&Ms but it’s still nice to see all the options.
The movie itself didn’t matter that much. It could be some turn off your brain action movie, some cheesy little romcom, an oscar bait drama, hell, it could even be some animated movie if the box office was particularly dry.
All that mattered is that they were together, leaning next to each other. If they were spending time together then the quality of the movie in front of them didn’t matter. It could’ve been the best and they’d have a new dvd to buy in a few months. It could’ve been the worst thing they’ve ever seen and they would have something to talk about on the way home. It could’ve been completely unremarkable and the time still wouldn’t have been wasted.
After all that was over, they’ll decide to get some pizza for take out to enjoy at home. And who knows? Maybe they’ll decide to have even more fun…
I'm going to assume that during Alpha Flight vol 5, Laura and Goblyn saw what was going on in Canada and just teleported off world the first chance they got
there's a movie that they watch as a tradition every year -- let's say it's something like, spy kids, for their birthday or christmas or something
northstar hates it from the first watch, but he never complains while watching it because it's the one tradition he gets to have with his twin sister for several years and he does not want to fail that, ever, especially if it's not aurora's favourite movie apparently
BUT PLOT TWIST. AURORA HATES THIS MOVIE TOO. SHE HATES HAVING TO WATCH THE SAME CRAP EVERY DAMN YEAR TO THE POINT OF HAVING MEMORISED THE ENTIRE DAMN SCRIPT BY NOW. but she doesn't complain because she likes having this quality time and tradition with northstar and she loves her annoying ass brother so know what, she'll watch his favourite movie with him every year if they must
... they're both passive aggressive idiots who care and i hope they never found out that neither of them likes this movie at all and they're only watching it because they mistakenly think somehow this is the other twin's comfort movie :) #TheirDiscomfortMovie
