Comic fans loveeee finding any excuse for male characters. A character decision repeated multiple times, that is a literal crime, that is violently misogynistic, and that is still canon? Yeah its just bad writing!! The writers dont understand him. A single line of dialogue from 4 decades ago, that is severely out of character, that has been retconned, from a female character though? Oh yeah shes a bitch and if you're a fan of her you're a bad person.

I feel like I barely had a chance to participate in Romy Con this year but the little bit I did was super fun! Already looking forward to the 2027 Romy Con!

One of the events I did get a chance to join in on was the quick challenge where participants had a few days to draw or write something based on the given prompt. This year the theme was "I love you too much to die twice."

I couldn't resist such a perfect angst prompt. I drew a quick drawing on the first day but I didn't love it. So the next morning I started on the drawing I really wanted to do but feared I wouldn't have time for (of course a stained glass piece). Somehow everything fell into place and I really enjoyed taking the time to fine-tune it (so thankful for amazing friends and my sister for giving me feedback/fresh perspective!). I love it in all its angsty glory.

I tried to leave it slightly open for interpretation. I would be really curious to hear people's thoughts on the "story" behind the drawing if anyone feels like sharing.

Thanks for the fun challenge Romy Con ( @punkerduckiememes ). It's such fun to see what everyone comes up with. Similar to Rogue Gambit Week it forces me to create within the confines of a prompt.

PS: I will be working to catch up on comments/posts soon. I've also got 3(?) finished drawings I plan to post at somepoint. Baby was in the NICU for a little bit but everyone is home now and we are adjusting to a new (chaotic wonderful) normal. So consistency is going to be touch and go for awhile. 😅

And yeah I screamed when I watched xmen 97 this morning and I saw the eye-boy cameo. Hes so underrated I wish he was in more comics.

I loved how many cameos there were!!

A majority of mutants in marvel are not dangerous, or very powerful, or trained to fight. They're just normal people who happen to have powers. Most of their powers are probably not even very useful. Its just that all the mutants with thousands of comic book appearances are very powerful or trained to fight. Why do marvel fans forget this so often?
