How is Disney gonna preach “work hard and your dreams will come true” when Sharpay & Ryan worked almost their whole lives to be on top but then Gabriella & Troy showed up not even able to two step with their boring ass acoustic versions of every single song and stole the spotlight Sharpay and Ryan are supposed to be the villains like…okay work

It wasn't even that they were mean, it was the fact that they were arrogant. They took a song that Kelsey composed for a play that she wrote and also worked really hard on; told her "no this way is better for us and you can't argue about it because we've been in theater for years and we know best." And despite that the song was supposed to be a kind of meaningful and empassioned refrain they turned it into a top 40 chart pop single, which was very successful as they said it would be. The actual lesson here is "work hard and your dreams will come true" like Kelsey getting her play produced by her school, but also "don't let success from said hard work make you think you have the right to crush other's dreams" like Sharpay who was fairly disliked because of her diva attitude.
