You didn't expect yourself to catch feelings for him.
Sure Adam Richmond was super hot and sure he had a perfect smile and sure he was a charmer. But at the same time, you hadn't thought that was your type. Especially since Kai was the exact same and you only thought of him as your brother. Maybe that was because he was your best friend's brother... The point is, you were surprised when you realised you had caught feelings for him.
The moment Adam entered the monastery for the first time, claiming to be a messenger of peace from a far off land, you were confused about him. Why? Because most people would be kind of nervous about this, but him? He strutted up to Master Wu and flashed everyone a charming smile, kissing Nya's hand in which she responded by wiping it off with a disgusted look on her face.
"Adam Richmond." He smiled holding his hand out for you to shake. You hesitated, then shook his hand. "(Y/N) Garmadon."
He nodded and introduced himself to the rest of the team. "I come from Folsense, a land eastwards from here. It took like, a few months to get here by ship, it's, really far away."
Your brother considered him with a wary look. "Why... Have you come?"
"My master wants to meet you. You know you're really famous, right? He wants to invite you to his land."
Cole shrugged with a smirk on his face. "Yeah, we've been invited to Shintaro once. I'm pretty sure we can come to... What's your land called? Falling sense?"
"Folsense." He frowned, but then plastered a bright cheery smile onto his face. "But alright. We'll leave whenever you want, but um... Can I stay here for a while? I'm kind of tired from the long journey."
Master Wu agreed and let him stay in one of the spare rooms in the monastery, and asked you to show him around.
"So! (Y/N) wasn't it?" He asked you when you were far enough from everyone's earshot. You nodded. "Nice to meet you," he smiled.
You showed him all the rooms, and talked about how you were Lloyd's older sister and had inherited your father's power of darkness. He seemed surprised by that, like everyone else when you say that, because he said you seemed to be the nicest person he'd ever met, making you blush.
"I- I'll leave you rest,' you stuttered, looking at the ground to hide your blush as you stood in the doorway of his temporary room. He smiled and pushed your hair out of your face and raised your chin so you could meet his eyes. That just made you blush even more.
"Don't." He smiled softly. "You're really pretty. Don't hide."
Lost for words, you opened and closed your mouth like a dying fish. That's when you realised personal space stopped existing between you as you were just a step away from hugging him. Gasping you jumped back, uttering a string of apologies, face turning scarlet at this point and hurriedly left.
You could hear him laugh a little as you left, butterflies erupting in your stomach.

"Ninja," Jay said. "We need to leave soon."
A chorus of hums and "yep"s answered him. "NINJA," he repeated, startling you all.
You yelped and fell off the couch, Kai dropped his controller and effectively lost the game while Cole and Lloyd just kept playing. Zane looked up from the book he was reading.
"Come on, guys," Jay whined. "Nya won't stop telling me to pack, but it's so boring! You need to pack too!"
Zane pondered ok his words. "We were going to leave as soon as Adam woke up but he did seem very tired. I reckon he won't be waking up until next morning."
Kai lay on his back, looking up at you, since you had climbed back onto the couch. "Yeah, so we've got time. Besides, I'd rather talk for now. Like about what's going on between you and Adam," he smirked.
Nya's head popped in the doorway. "For real!" She gasped and jumped over to sit on the couch next to you, as Jay quietly stole Kai's controller to play with Lloyd and Cole because they just started a new game. Zane smiled a little and went back to reading his book.
You blushed curling into yourself. "Nothing."
"If didn't look like nothing," Nya raised an eyebrow. "With the way your blushing and how close you were standing to each oth-"
"Wha- You were spying on me?!"
"WHAT?!" Lloyd shrieked, his eyes still focused on the game in front of him, but he looked like someone just fed him a broccoli flavoured sweet. "That is disgusting! Eww, (Y/N)."
You threw a well aimed pillow in his face. "Shut up, Lloyd." He whined and complained about losing the game again, giving up on the controller and sat down next to Kai.
"Okay, fine. As long as you're happy."
No one noticed the new guest opening a tube of invisible gas in the room through the window. Soon, all the ninja fell unconscious.
You woke up first, finding Nya cuddled up on your shoulder and Kai sleeping on the ground in front of you. Cole and Jay were asleep with the game controls in their hands, the screen flashing "GAME OVER" on the TV. Zane had the book resting in his lap, asleep as well. Lloyd wasn't there though.
You figured he had woken up and went outside, so you got up and gently placed Nya's head on a pillow and rushed outside. It was still night out, so you figured he wouldn't have gone outside the monastery. Lloyd wasn't reckless.
You checked every room in the monastery, you checked the training grounds, you checked your rooms and even on the roof. You noticed that Adam was missing too.
Shrugging it off, you found Master Wu meditating (Sleeping in the meditation room. No doubt, he fell asleep too) and asked him about your brother.
"Lloyd? No, I haven't seen him."
That's when you got worried. What happened to your little brother? You went back into the game room, a frown in your face. That's when you noticed a little note fluttering on the floor next to Kai, where Lloyd has sat a few hours ago, threatening to fly off from the wind coming in through the window. You grabbed it and hastily read it.
You want him back? Come and get him.
You blinked. It didn't sink in until you had reread the paper a good five times. All of a sudden your vision blurred and the world around starting to spin too fast for you to stay balanced. Your thoughts ran at a million miles a second, your hands shook, your head felt dizzy. You wanted to throw up-
You managed to gently lower yourself to the floor before you fell over instead. Your breath was still coming out in short, quick breaths. It began to get harder to breathe. It was like your brain forgot how to inhale, you just kept gasping, suffocating.
You couldn't breathe- Oh God, it was too much. Too much. Lloyd. Your little brother. He took Lloyd. Lloyd-
You sobbed, the world still spinning around you. You wanted it to stop. Just stop. You wanted this horrible feeling gone, you wanted to breath normally because it was starting to hurt your chest- You wanted Lloyd back.
"Hey! Hey (Y/N)!" Kai gasped, grasping your hand in his. You had forgotten that you were still in the same room everyone fell asleep in. You must've woken him up since you were kneeling right next to him. "(Y/N), hey, (Y/N) you're fine. Take a deep breath, everything's alright."
You shook your head, tears blurring your vision of him. You couldn't bring yourself to speak. You were breathing too fast to speak. Calm down, you had to calm down-
"(Y/N) hey," he whispered gently. "Hey, breathe with me. Come on, (Y/N) you're okay. Calm down, just breathe. Look, concentrate on your breathing."
Concentrate. You just had to concentrate. You tried, and finally managed to get your breathing under control. A while later, you were able to match your breathing with Kai's.
"Yeah. Well done," he sighed and hugged you. "What happened?" You sniffed, and showed him the note that was crumpled in your fist for the past fifteen minutes. "Lloyd. Adam took Lloyd," you croak.
You stuffed your head back into his chest, not wanting to see his reaction. Kai read over the note and his hold on you tightened. "Shit," he cursed. "Oh fuck - (Y/N), hey we'll find him. We'll find Lloyd, okay? We need to- we need to wake the others!"
You nodded, all sense of vulnerability gone as you wiped the tears off your face and replaced it with a determined look. Both of you woke up the others and told them what happened, showing them the note.
"I noticed some weird smell in the air before I fell asleep," Jay quipped. "He must've gassed us so he could take Lloyd while we were unconscious."
"That piece of shit!" Nya fumed, balling her fists in anger. Nobody liked seeing Nya angry. Especially when the anger was directed at them. You almost felt bad for Adam's fate when you saw the fierce look on Nya's face. Almost.
Zane nodded at Jay. "You are right, Jay. I detect traces of remains of carbon monoxide in the air. It is a harmful invisible gas and can even be fatal if too much is inhaled."
"I knew that guy was shady. Can't believe he gassed us," Cole said as you all hurried outside. Nya has rushed off to tell Master Wu they were going to find Lloyd, and had hurried back as quick as she could, straight to your side.
"I seem to have found the location of Folsense," Zane told you as you all hurriedly got onto your dragons. You nodded and took off, the rest of them following you. Since Lloyd, the green ninja, was your brother, him being missing automatically made the you their leader. It wasn't something that was said out loud, they just all turned to you to lead them.
"We'll scout the seas around us on our way," you said. "Adam said it took him months to get here by ship."
"But he could be lying," Kai pointed out.
"True," you agreed. "But Zane approved that he really was tired and wasn't just saying it. He scanned him. Also, we've found Folsense to be a real place so I don't think he was lying."
The group fell into silence once again, all eyes on the ocean below, hoping to find any vessel or boat that could have their friend on board. Please Lloyd, please be okay.

It had been two months since your baby brother went missing and a piece of you broke every day. You had spent all that night scouting the seas but found nothing. You spent the entirety of the past two months on the Destiny's Bount flying over empty ocean, following Zane's instructions to the land of Folsense.
You stared at the piece of paper Adam left you every night, as if you could find a hidden meaning behind those words if you tried harder. You begged Pixal to look for details of Folsense back at Wu's library in the monastery since herself and your mother stayed back, to find out who Adam's master was, but so far she had found nothing. Folsense was becoming less real every passing day and more of a lie.
How could you even have liked Adam in the first place? You were glad your crush didn't last long on someone so horrible. If he did anything to your baby brother-
You stopped your train of thought. If he did anything to your brother, what would you do? You don't know. You just wanted to make him pay for taking Lloyd away from you for so long.
"(Y/N)!" Cole shouted as he barged in through your door, scaring you out of your thoughts. The piece of paper dropped from your hands and you quickly caught it again, clutching it tight.
"Oh, uh sorry. But I think we've found a lead to Lloyd."
Your eyes widened as you lept from your bed. "What?!" He nodded. "Zane's pretty sure about it. Hurry, we're all on deck."
You ran to the deck, to find all the ninja standing together with Master Wu in the moonlight. A night that looked the exact same as the one when Lloyd was kidnapped. "Master Wu!" You panted. "What happened?"
He regarded you with a gentleness he held only for his students. He knew you cared for your brother deeply. He remembered you badly wanted to see Lloyd ever since he was born but only got to meet him for the first time when the ninja did. Your mother had left him because of the prophecy and had taken you with her. But you got away as soon as you turned sixteen and came for your brother -knowing your father wouldn't - only to find that he had released the Serpentine.
"Zane has found a huge vessel deep below the sea, and Nya and Jay went to investigate. They came back just a few minutes ago with the report that it is empty and we have found land up ahead."
You didn't want your hopes getting crushed. Choosing your words carefully you said, "It could be any land."
He smiled. "Yes, but this land is on the exact coordinates that Zane found for Folsense."
You gasped. "Well then let's go! We need to get Lloyd!"
"We thought it would be better if we formulate a plan before we go there." Zane said, before you could act recklessly. You nodded and steeled yourself. "Oh, yeah. That's actually a better idea. What's the plan?"

Lloyd had been in a lot of cages before. He'd been captured enough times to know what it's like being locked up behind bars. But this one, this captor - Adam - made the Serpentine seem nice.
He was beaten a lot, and he was sure his back was covered in infected wounds caused by belts. It reminded him of his time at Darkley's, when the teachers would hit kids on the back of their knees if they don't wake up in time. It was part of the reason why he never wore shorts. But these lashes hurt so much more.
It seemed like he never stopped bleeding. His wrists hurt because of the tight manacles that tied him to the floor. He had run out of tears to cry every time he was beaten. His voice had gone hoarse on the second week, it's not like they gave him sufficient water either. The food was horrible, it did even look sterile but honestly, how could he refuse food when they kept him starving for days on end?
He knew the ninja would come. He knew his family would come for him, no matter how long they took, they would come for him. They always did. They've been through too much together for him to doubt their loyalty. They would tear the world apart for him if they had to.
So he kept his hopes up. He knew it would be hard for them to track him, especially since Adam was steering the vessel so far deep in the ocean. He knew they would be scouting for ships rather than submarines, but he kept his faith in his team. In his sister. She'd come for him.
He remembered how she literally once killed everyone in her path to get to him when they fought the Anacondrai. She'd come for him. His older sister.
"They're still not here yet, green ninja," Adam taunted after he entered the dark room, pacing just outside of his cell. Lloyd kept his face expressionless. He's gonna say it, he's gonna say it-
"Why don't we have a little fun until then?"
Honestly, he doesn't know what his sister saw in Adam. He didn't like him when he first came into the monastery. He didn't like how he made (Y/N) flustered at every compliment. He only kept his mouth shut because he wanted her to be happy.
But now, he was pretty sure Adam would be dead the minute his sister would see what he did to him.
Lloyd didn't flinch as he opened the door to the cell, he didn't look up when he heard Adam bring out the belt. He kept his expression passive. He knew that soon he would be fighting to keep the screams in, so he tried to relax himself as much as he could. He could feel his heart beating faster with every step Adam took closer to him.
He could see Adam's shadow on the floor raising the belt in the air, he could imagine the smirk on his face, Lloyd closed his eyes tight preparing himself for the sting-
"Bring that down on him, I dare you," a voice seethed. He whipped his head up at the sound of that voice. He knew her. That was his sister. That was (Y/N). She came for him. She had found him. She was here. His sister was here.
A sob built up in his throat. "(Y/N)," he choked out, tears appearing in his eyes. She was actually here-
He saw more coming. One in red, two in blue, white, black. His friends. They were here. All of them. They came for him. He tried not to sob out loud, but it was so hard not to. How long had it been since he saw them? Were they even real? God, if this was a dream he'd be devastated if he woke up.
Adam drew back the belt, and Lloyd visibly relaxed. He didn't avert his gaze from the ninja though. He hadn't seen them for two months and he wanted to engrave his family into his mind forever.
Adam walked away from Lloyd, grinning. "Ah, I see you have finally come for your little green ninja, have you?"
"We'll be taking him back too," Cole growled. All of them looked so menacing, they all had faces of pure hatred aimed directly at Lloyd's captor, who just beamed back. Cold and cheery. Just like how he smiled at them back in the monastery.
"Let Lloyd go," Nya threatened. Her voice was dangerously low, close to a whisper.
"I don't really want to though," Adam whined. "Why would I bring you here, all this way, just to let your little green friend go?"
No one answered. They just kept their gazes on Adam as he paced back and forth Lloyd's cell door. He still hadn't locked it, but it's not like Lloyd could move. He was chained to the floor.
"You know it was kind of dumb that you came here," Adam began. He raised an eyebrow. "Do you know why this place is called Folsense?" No one moved. "Because only those with a fool's sense come here."
"Well it's a good thing none of us are sensible then," Kai quipped, charging forward at him, the rest of the ninja following him. Adam summoned golden statues with a click of his finger and they surged forward, clashing with the ninja's weapons. Metal fought metal.
Lloyd decided that had to escape before Adam realised he never locked his door. He tried to shake his hands out of the chains, but to no luck. Looking up, he managed to make eye contact with Jay, who was fighting a gold warrior. They had a second's agreement, all plans exchanged through the understanding in each others eyes.
Jay shot a well aimed burst of electricity at Lloyd's left manacle, and it shattered to pieces. Lloyd lifted his now free hand and conjured up a ball of green energy and fired it at the statue. The statue was thrown into the wall and it combusted into golden dust.
Jay quickly shot Lloyd's other hand free letting him be free for the first time in two months. But Lloyd couldn't relish on the relief he felt at being free, he had to get out of there before Adam got to him. (Y/N) had him distracted at the moment, the two of them locked in an intense combat, giving him enough time to gather up his strength and run out of the cell.
Ignoring the pain, he found Kai in the middle of the battle and blasted the statue he was fighting. Kai turned to him and engulfed him in a hug, mindful of his injuries. "Don't scare me like that, bigshot."
He smiled weakly. "We can take them down together. Me and you. Heat and energy. You in?"
Kai nodded and then Lloyd summoned as much power as he could, in the weak state he was, and they both created a huge fiery explosion, all the golden statues in the room combusting to tint dust particles as his friends fell to the ground, coughing and spluttering.
Lloyd collapsed onto the floor, no energy or strength left in him. He was fit to fall asleep. Cole ran over to hug him and held him up, keeping him from falling over. Jay, Nya, Kai and Zane followed and wrapped their arms around him. He sighed in bliss. He had his family back with him.
Wait, (Y/N). Where was his sister-
His eyes snapped open, wide alert all of a sudden and he spotted you still fighting Adam who seemed to be in a worse state than him. His left arm was slit open, his right ankle was bent at an unnatural angle, he had cuts and wounds and deep gashes leaking blood all over his body. He dropped to ground in front of you, he collapsed from exhaustion. Yet, you didn't stop attacking him. You kicked him back onto his chest, and he had no energy left in him to get up.
Lloyd watched you press the tip of your sword on a vein in Adam's neck, hard enough to draw blood as it dribbled down the side of his neck and onto the ground beside him. Red blood stained the ground, but he suspected you wanted more. The brutal look of bloodlust in your eyes was terrifying, and Lloyd was sure that you would kill him if he didn't say anything.
"Stop!" He cried out. His throat screamed in pain but he ignored it, he couldn't watch his own sister kill a person, no matter how horribly he treated him. "(Y/N)! Stop! Don't kill him!"
You didn't look at him, your expression was still as fierce as it was before he said anything, but a small tilt of your head towards his voice assured him that you had heard.
Your grip on the sword tightened, and you forced more pressure on his neck, drawing even more blood as Adam fought for breath and gasped in between repressed coughs. Lloyd watched you stomp your boot onto his chest, making him wheeze, the air being knocked out of him as you summoned your power of destruction in your left hand. You brought your face closer to his.
The ninja moved forward to stop you from straight up murdering him, but Lloyd signalled for them to stay back. He trusted you. You had heard him and had acknowledged him, you always valued his opinion above everyone else's, even Master Wu's. And he took pride in your faith in him, and he trusted you with his will.
"If you dare even look at my brother again," you seethed. Your voice a low growl from the back of your throat. It sent shudders down Lloyd's spine."I swear to the first spinjitsu master, I won't regret what I do to you," and you let him go. He gasped and spluttered for breath, coughing out blood. The ninja hurried to make sure that he didn't escape the first chance he got while the police arrived.
Lloyd wasn't sure if he should be scared or happy. Scared because the dangerous look on your face terrified him, scared of your dark and haunting eyes that thirsted to kill the person that hurt him. Scared of the sheer brutality with which you fought and your lack of mercy.
Never had he seen this side of you. No one had. He knew the rest of the ninja were just as disturbed as he was, they always knew you as a sweet and bubbly person that found it hard to give out when they were being annoying.
You dropped your sword to the ground with a loud clang, your knees buckling as you fell to the ground in exhaustion. The anger melted off your face as soon as you made eye contact with your brother, concern, fear and regret filling up the space that was left behind from the anger.
"Lloyd," your voice cracked. "I-"
He didn't think twice. He got up and ran to you, skidding on his knees as he reached you and threw his arms around you, stuffing his face into your shoulder. Your familiar warmth and scent surrounded him, and he chose to concentrate on that more than the smell of blood around him.
Sobs overtook his body - he missed your hugs. How long had it been since he hugged his older sister? He squeezed you tighter when you sighed in relief and hugged him back, placing your head in his shoulder.
And then Lloyd was a little boy again. A little boy in his older sister's arms because he was hurt. His sister was stroking his hair as he snuggled closer to her. He was safe here. She would keep him safe, he knew she would.
You both sat there on the floor awhile, Lloyd sobbing into your purple gi and you holding him back just as tight as he was, the comfort going both ways.

I began this story by creating the ending first. Then I wrote this huge oneshot with 4,388 words. Other times, I can't even write a short drabble if you were to pay me. F my brain.
